  2. You had me at carrot cake! WOW….a cheese cake extravaganza! It's amazing how a wood fire can warm you up. It's not just the heat, it's the cozy peaceful setting around the fire. The other night I had a wood fire inside the fireplace, my daughter was sitting on the hearth enjoying the heat. It was a great scene until she started playing with her cellphone

Anyways its a 44 long, my wife says that the sleeves look a little long. But whrn i tried on a 46 regular, the sleeves seemed fine but the shoulders seemed to big. 9. Afternoon gang..... Well yesterday was quite a day....I must say all that snow really gave the mighty Wheel Horse snow blower a real workout....it took me all day to do the drive way...at least two hours down by the road were the plows piled up the snow.... the snow was well over the top of the blower inlet...... The one used car guy was already at the shop at 9:30 with his tractor and blower set up....he was 1/2 way done....I was going to meet him there but I still had to dig out my CRV and trailer....not going to happen.... Well Stoney and his brother Boney has had the best seat for the weekend....they haven't moved a whole lot.....just chilling on the futon by the fire.... Check-in later got to do some digging.... MKP :-)

  14. Thanks for the likes my friends...... No drinks here yet, that's for later tonight over in RTM ;0) My LIVE from Germany performance has concluded... Being a musician, these concerts mean a lot to me, and are much more expensive to view then Netflix, and actually take the place of the movie service around here in Music Hall... But, I enjoy sharing the screen shots with you all.... ;0) Oh, had the DB meter running (A weighting) and the peaks were hitting 92, which is about right for my usual seat at Tanglewood some 60 feet back from the stage ;0) To comment, Carl, love your 'washroom' project! Turned out very 'pro' looking for sure... For me, it is back to the keyboard studio to work on some music for Monday night's rehearsal... More later over in RTM.... ........Gary

  16. Good Saturday afternoon everyone.... Just went through the week long postings .... Took me about a half hour !!! Anyway, that snow looks like what we get here in western MA. But I look out the window and nothing but green grass everywhere ! CRAZY ! I was watching a live stream on the LT last night and this morning from WJLA Arlington VA. Was a bit of a hoot with all those reports from on the road reporters.... Well, I am enjoying another LIVE concert from the Berlin Philharmonic which again, is excellent! HD stream coming from the Sony BluRay and watched on the new screen... Shot of the violin concerto with soloist.........and now the Schubert Symphony #2

  17. You can't sand down 3 pairs of La Scalas in the past three months and act surprised at the amount of work every time. As for you being old, I am pretty sure I have socks older than you! Now breaks over, I see plenty more to sand! Hang on to that k400 for me.

  18. A 44 reg might do the trick. You want to be able to curl your fingers under the bottom of the jacket, that's the proper length for the body. It's too long if you cant get your middle knuckle to cup the hem. It's too short if you can get your palms under. The one in the pic looks good except just get the sleeves altered.

  19. Duder looks fine for that fitting, remember he is still growing! Iv had breakfast with this man, and i know how well Omaha fixes you up.

  21. The sleeves are too long. Have them altered if the rest fits good. Do the wrap your arms test, wrap your arms touching the opposite shoulders with your hands. If it does not feel too tight or does not threaten to rip you're good to go. You want the sleeves at a length where your shirt cuffs will show about an inch when at your sides.

  24. Warming them up. Hah! They've been hunkered down under the biggest, heaviest down comforter you've ever seen. Said they got it from their Swedish relation, Uncle Swen (I'm suspicious). Occasionally a hand emerges to grab hold of the hearty stews and soups I've been cooking. Can't image what they are using to handle the "necessaries". I've been barred from crawling in with them cause "I'm might bring Jack Frost in with me". Well, the festivities are over. Maybe another inch since last night's report. Two pictures today. The final 8AM picnic table report and a pic of GaryMD's car. It's the lump in the middle. He spent the night with me so I could run him out to the airport for a trip to, get this, Maui. Betcha he's going to be surprised when he get's back.

  30. After a night of adjusting settings, a couple of gear swaps and much more listening, I've determined the source of the distortion to be the room correction dsp of my MRX 310. Reducing the max correction frequency in the ARC software to 300hz seems to mitigate it. I probably didn't hear it in my other speakers because the fortes are the most revealing.

  32. They were not readily available! They were only used late '80 to '83 before being replaced with the K-55M. They and the K-51V (dual phase plug equivalent) ceramic version are more desireable and not that common at all as compared to the spring terminal K-55V. I am certain they were more expensive and the decision to go with the K-55M was most likely a financial one. I have them in most of my Heritage speakers. At least the main five anyway. That is interesting and now that I think about it I have just discovered something. I have owned a number of Heritage series cabinets and they have usually had the K-55V soldered mid drivers. Now that I think about, they had another thing in common - they were usually from the early 80's vintage. Seriously, I had never noticed my pattern.

  33. No mama grizzlies have been sighted in my neighborhood. We are pushing 30 inches or so I'd say. The most I ever saw was 70 inches, Syracuse, New York in the Blizzard of 1966. Now that was something to see. Forty miles north in Oswego, NY, where I went to college a year later, they had 102 official inches. I was shown pictures of my dorm with students tobogganing off the three story roof, due to drifts from high winds. 7PM report. Hey! Somebody stole my picnic table! Should wind up in an hour or two.

  34. So far I've had sneakers on as I work, so no. Everything where I work is tile or concrete so no biggie. Once the bathroom is put into use I'm sure we'll be barefooted. if it's an issue, we'll throw a rug here or there but it would be a shame to cover up those floors. They came out really nice.

  36. thanks Gary. I spent most of the morning caulking. I'm currently waiting on the granite guys to come back and put the backsplash on the backs of the counters. Once that's done I'll start setting fixtures and hooking up water supplies and waste pipes.. I can definitely see the finish line from here.

  41. no, it's about the NFL owners sucking the publics money dry… ^^ This! The stadium issue has been an ongoing soap opera here in SD for 14+ years. I WAS a long time Charger fan until about two years ago. I could no longer turn a blind eye to the corporate welfare these NFL teams extort from their host cities. The Chargers have been in essence playing rent free in a stadium that has cost us taxpayers millions of dollars a year just to maintain. I do hope that the Chargers opt to move to Inglewood, and the Raiders, as well as the NFL in general, just keep their distance.

  42. I have wondered if anybody ever took the time to do this double bass bin LaScala I designed? (PS: that is a 75" screen!) or this squished Heresy I designed: Either of these would be a good center for Belles since they use the same tweeter and midhorn. What I don't know about the LS bins is if the comb filtering is noticeable at the higher frequencies of 400Hz (2.8' wavelength). Also, I don't know how good the bass would be with the squished center. Most center speakers can't go as deep as the mains, or at least with Klipsch speakers that's true. It's all about voices with the center speakers.

  45. You can actually use bananas just like spades. Here's how: 1) Unscrew the nut on the binding post in question. If you remove it completely or as close as possible, you might see a hole through the post at a 90 degree angle to the "female" end of the post. 2) Insert banana plug through this "sideways" hole (warning: it might be a tight fit!) 3) Screw nut back down until finger tight. Your banana plug should not yank or fall out. For what it's worth, I've used single and dual bananas with all sorts of amps and speakers and have never had a problem with a banana that was "too long" for a binding post. Perhaps DefTech uses a proprietary design to meet European electrical safety standards (banana plugs are verboten in the EU since they can be plugged into wall AC outlets).
