  1. This may have been covered before, and I was taking a nap at that time, or there may be one (BS emoto-button) and I can't find it. I have very mixed feelings about this whole online "Like" culture. Sure I preen when somebody likes what I'm saying, but I calm down and remember it's my just due, being such a studly, intelligent raconteur, and all. But it seems this whole "Like" thing is very one-sided. Why are there no "turd" emoticons. Or a "shaking fist" emoticon. Maybe a "knife plunging into my stomach" anatomy-thingy. A "nuclear option" mushroom descriptor. Maybe something as simple as an "Un-Like", or maybe a "Bully" (TR) or a "Bully" (school-yard). I'm not liking "Likes". The main reason is, cause you can just press a key, the "Like" appears and in your own mind, you've done your duty. You are not obligated to participate any further in the discussion at hand, so can quickly go onto something else. Except this is a so-called forum for a reason. Sure we could call it a "Blather" for example, or a "Pompous", maybe get a little funky and call it a "Shout Out",. but a forum has some Roman gravitas attached to it. It implies a place for a meeting of minds to debate the issues of the moment, not a hiccup in the daily grind. So enough with the "Likes" already. I call Bullshit. (Let me know if you like this)

  4. Good evening friends....... MKP, that looks like a real 'OUCH' ! Can it be saved? Ok, as you probably have seen in your news/weather for the East Coast, we had high winds and warnings... This morning as I got ready for work, the first gusts roared through.. Did not think too much about it... Until I was in the driveway getting ready to leave the house for work.... I noted some debris on my Escape's hood... Closer look showed I had TWO dents from a smallish dead branch from the ASH tree which is out in the back yard! After some 'oh chits', and getting upset because in the 4.5 years since new, there are only a couple of small blemishes on the whole SUV and was in near perfect shape... THEN, I noted the darn windshield was smashed under the passenger wiper blade and the multi cracks ran all the way to the headliner area! Well, 'Dent Doctors' can remove the dents, and the windshield is covered for free... I am sorry that my 'Ford Proudly Built in Kanas' sticker may be lost....and the windshield is a special 'noise cancelling' type and I would hope they can replace it with the same... Here are a couple of photos..............and all by this little stick .....well, that was how my day started..... Thanks for watching

  6. Alas, the job hunt continues. It is a tough market here. Especially for senior level management. My sister's unexpected passing a few weeks back has had me doing a lot of soul searching, thinking about life, what-ifs and tomorrows or lack there of. I have always been a work-a-holic. Maybe it is time to slow down and smell the roses? Maybe do something for the fun of it and not for the money. There may be a job out there dealing with audio. Now wouldn't that be a fun gig?

  7. Happy to see Mike stop in to chat! Lot of bad news here this morning so I'll add to it. Hears my bad luck story.....actually my this winter story......and from a normally healthy guy. So far 1 root canal and crown. 1 rotator cuff tear and rehab. 2 URIs, and 1 UTI. Went to the dentist last week and the new root canal and crown has an abscess and must come out. So after 5 trips to the dentist (2 dentist) and $2000 later I had to get the tooth pulled. The gum will heal and then I'll get an implant and another crown ($3500). Its hell and expensive getting old. LF is returning today after 2 weeks of taking care of her mother's estate. Her mom passed away two Thursdays ago. She was able to list and sell the house in that short time. So on these down notes. I hope you all have a great weekend.

  8. Yeah dTel, that little stick was very light, and ready to fall....the ash trees around here are very tall and of course, they self prune all the time, and this one was ready.... Enjoy your evening everyone.... Mike, that fallen tree stuff is scary! You know, we had a tornado not too far from here Sunday night ??? That is VERY strange. even out in the hill towns, it managed to wreck some homes and destroy a number of barns, and only an F1 !!

Mike, the Gnarly Head 'Old Vine Zin' is a long time favorite here when going out to dine! Saturday evening I will be overseeing another silent film with the grand Skinner pipeorgan, which we have been working on all week to get ready, and today will be the final fixes and tuning... Maybe some photos again like last year ? This movie is called 'The Navigator' with Buster Keaton Well, hope your day is a good on and your weekend is off to a good start.. I will check in when I can,,, ..............Gary

All drives a pair of 84 vintage Heresys along with a Dayton Audio. 12" sub-woofer to fill in the octaves that that the Heresys just cant. Yep... I'm a pretty happy camper right now. Currently spinning Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of the Moon and wishing I had more vinyl to listen to.

  15. Very nice of you to say, Mookie This is merely a temporary set back. Have no fear, I will be back to LS custom restoration in the near future. I have learned so much over the last few years. The next pair is going to blow your mind. Now that I have my very own full shop here at home, no holds barred. I have a stinking suspicion edition "Plum Crazy" revisited. Just have to get over this HUGE hump in the road of life (temporary) FYI, the 700 horsepower Hot Rod is not going anywhere. To sink back into the seat and smell that sweet exhaust is the stuff dreams are made of Matt ♪ ♫ ♪

  24. Wow...lots of stuff going on lately. MKP....would you recommend driving on that tire? I know a sidewall can't be patched, but if it didn't get into the carcass, could it be ok? Dtel....good one. I'll start shooting with my other hand, at least it wasn't my trigger finger (Barney Fife reference) Gary.....that seems like a lot of damage, that limb must have been pretty high up in the tree. At least it didn't do too much body damage. I like your pipe organ stories and pics. Chuck, sorry to hear about you LF's Mom. Good luck with the dental issues...they can be pretty painful. I finally completed an implant for a front tooth, hope I'm set for a while. We just missed the bad weather. A few tornados hit about 80 miles south of me. Still on the weather roller coaster....70s last weekend, currently a 10 windchill.

  25. Morning Chuck Dental eh? I know a little bit about that for being 63, last visit, last week, my "New" Dentist say's im done. Done because i decided if a tooth is giving me that much of a problem, it's replaced or yanked, period. Wife is going for complete upper(s) implant, four sockets and it snaps in and out, she is a mess. It's only a payment. Just got done dealing with the wifes dad estate, year before that was her mom, things workout. Sounds like you and the LF need a weekend out........do it.

I'm just gonna point it out to the owner..... what he wants to do is up to him lol lol Yea Gary, we got some weather around here also. we missed most of the bad stuff around the shop and house but there were a bunch of reports of trees through house around the Baltimore area. Looking around my trees at my house I gotta get some dead branches cut off. I noticed there is one BIG limb hanging over were we park our cars..... not parking there any longer till I get the tree work taken care of. Yes Chuck condolences to LF.... I know about the dental thing Chuck...... I just got another crown put on a tooth that I had a root canal done several years back. Counting this crown I'm close to 4 g's on this one tooth. We have no dental so I save my side job/cash money to get my dental work done. These tooth issues dig into my audio buying money That's what my dad says...... your right!!
