  1. Coffee....................................................... My wife and I walked around the house all day yesterday with mild headaches. We really couldn't put our finger on the cause as neither of us had an inordinate amount to drink on Saturday. Come to find out she had accidentally bought decaf beans and yesterday morning was the first time we had them. LOL, we got it bad.

  3. Doctor scared me away from caffeine. Regular doctor and Cardiologist both told me that caffeine can trigger those heart rhythm issues i was having. (Thank God i haven’t had an episode in a few months--they were really getting old). i don’t mind decaf coffee; but, then i don’t drink it everyday either. I’ll drink coffee when it’s cold outside. Today, got out of bed and grabbed an ice-cold 7-Up.

  9. Morning gang Rest, rest and more rest. Currently the west coast is orbiting 6" from the sun, no relief anytime soon. News items consists of buckling road surfaces, trailer park campers are complaining they live in a microwave oven and want federal assistance. Keep your critters cool, more news later when we rotate out of this orbit.

  10. Yes, I have done that before. I was trying something different. Cooked ears in a pan of water first, then on the grill just long enough to add some smoke and char.

  15. Greetings C,C & Cers! To say life has been busy lately wouldn't be accurate. I read far more often than I post, but anyway - solstice was mentioned and I thought I'd share a pic from Sat night about 11:15pm. Days start getting shorter from Thursday - we're at the time of year that I think that's ok! We stay up Waaaayyy too late in the summer...

  17. Afternoon gang Current reading from outside is 115 Just pulled the trigger in an AC system for the ManCave, less than a Grand and will have it by next week. Would have done the "Ductless" for twice the cost however Pro AC service was required for charging, scrw that. ManCave has not had a Perk since the snowroof, in combo with that i should be "Stylin" Cave is 80 currently @45 Humid.

  18. Glue down. I had to clean all the drywall mud and paint that was on the slab from when the house was built. Carpet had been hiding the mess, that took a while. Next step was to put down a 2 part sealer as a moisture barrier. The glue goes on top of that. The glue is a Titebond that the floor manufacturer recommends. It has the consistency of thin peanut butter but is stringy like melted cheese. It's a mess to deal with but 24 hours after you put it down, the floor is completely bonded to the concrete.

  21. That's great news. If the DR ever told me to quit drinking coffee, I'd do it. It's pretty much an enjoyable habit at this point but I could live without it if it affected my heart.

  22. Ended up doing something similar, oldest daughter called around lunch and said don't do anything for dinner, I will bring something home. What she brought was potatoes to be baked and a whole ribeye, and we had made a big salad already. So we cut it up and grilled it, one day I would love to cook one whole but everyone here likes it cooked anywhere from medium well to rare.

  28. They arrived safely strapped to 2 pallets, tops and bottoms shrink wrapped together. The factory cartons/packaging is very substantial. I will get some pics later (probably much later) and post some pics in a separate thread. This moved WAY faster that I could have imagined and I simply am not ready. Huge shout out to Metropolis Lake Outfitters. He is awesome to deal with. My only complaint is that he's too efficient If you order something from him you better be ready to get it!!!

  29. That's funny, now remember we do not claim to be normal. I asked if she wanted grills on the speakers and she said no, she likes the open horns. But I do have plans to put a Red Oak strip around the 402 horn edges to make it look better and match the bass bins, probably need to get going on that, they have been like this since 2009, it's a plan anyway. Room with speakers is 24' wide and 18' deep to that pole behind the sofa, another 16' behind that, kitchen dining room. The reason for all the poles was i built it very strong, somewhat have a problem with overkill I guess. The room is far from perfect with the poles and where speakers had to be placed but it still sounds great to us. the other speakers in the room are for HT, 3 forte ll's across the front and a rear center Forte ll, the rear R&L are original forte's. Sub is Danley Spud (for now) it's on the side of the right mwm cabinet along the wall, kind of hidden. I had no place for rears the rooms are all open so I hung them from the beam pointing downward. Again not perfect but you have to work with what you have. Other speaker are Cornwall lll's in the bedroom, in ceiling in her sewing room, mwm with split LaScala tops for out in the yard (parties) plus heresy's in the tiki bar in the yard, Heresy ll in grandsons room, Rb75's in daughters room. OK we like music everywhere, but nothing in the bathroom, so were not completely crazy. imo

  30. Yep - FW with Klipsch do sound very good as several others can also attest too. My recently bought F3, also JFET powered, is playing nice with Jubilees. Hopefully these testimonials add to the sale --- GL

  33. Good evening FR, like the BS Paranoid you posted the other day as well. Sadly I only have 3 CD's instead of vinyl. Well, I do have that pic-vinyl that I was surprised to hear is of some value. Pretty cool! Thanks! That Harvest remastered sounds like the way to go. Like it too! Going to play some Nancy Sinatra here sometime soon.

  35. Thanks Billy................I have a collection of albums POST with the T'Brass.... All these are SOLO with select studio musicians... Herb really changed it up a bit, as most all the newer offerings are leaning toward jazz/pop/dance genre ... This IS an interesting listen, synthesizers used here and there............other percussive sounds are heard... Thanks for your compliment............the Dual does a surprisingly good job of being the nice sounding turntable since I bought it new back in 1979 to this day.... Did I need to step up to a $2K Rega? Probably not so much........................................

  39. 6 is really not a problem at all, many speakers rated at 8 are 6ish. It's when you use a 4ohm speaker that some AVRs shut down.

  41. They are easier to place and have good deep bass for movies. From listening to other subs, the problem I have with them is for music they are not all that musical, after hearing the 1502 or 1802 I realized how muddy the spud really sounds, I don't know if other Danelys sound like this or not. Talking with someone who has the same design but with the bigger drivers, (can't remember what Danely called it) they had the same thoughts I did. A little boomy and muddy compared to a good sub, I didn't notice until I heard it compared to other subs, but good for movies it seems.

  46. No pictures handy of Otto but we did have an "issue" this morning. I had a neighbor text me while I was eating breakfast this morning. "Did Otto got loose?" It seems my daughter didn't latch the back gate last night when she got home and when we let him out for breakfast he ate and ran. We know better as every time we let him out he tests the gate. I have no idea where he went but after about 4 times yelling "Otto come!!!" at the top of my lungs in my driveway he came tearing back to the house. He's the only dog we've ever had that will respond that way. Ones in the past wouldn't come back on command but he's really good about that. Thank goodness.
