  1. And they accepted! We are stoked! We'll be going from the typical neighborhood plat of .25 to .3 acres to close to an acre where we'll be building a new house hopefully this year (have to sell this one we're in). The back side backs up to about 50 acres that most likely ever won't be built on so close neighbors will be at a minimim. And yes... I'll have my dedicated audio room where I can keep all my toys...and new Belles. The house we're building will be around 2700 square feet with a much better layout than the current. I mentioned that I'll have my own room for stuff, right? If you pray, add us in your prayers for all that's about to conspire. We are excited and looking forward to building our own home from the ground up.

  2. Ms. O'Riordan, lead singer for the Cranberries, and far too young. She had power and emotion in her voice that made you feel your Irish roots in the core of your being.

  4. Good morning. Enjoying a cup of McCafe Colombian Medium-Dark, which is almost gone. When the McD’s ground is gone it will be time to grind 8 O’Clock whole bean. While the rest of the house still slumbers, I’m listening to Dolores O’Riordan and the Cranberries. Now I wonder why I never listened to her/them before.

  8. Yep. Not a lot of experienced icy road drivers round here. I learned how to drive in it years ago but I don't want to be on the roads with those that haven't.

  13. I have no idea, myself I would think if the boxes look OK it came from the factory like that. Except for possible temperature problems which could cause wood to separate, also a box can be dropped in a way to not show damage but to break off drivers, have heard of that happening before also. I just guess like everyone else, I don't work there to know of any problems, but I do know the factory does everything they can to make sure what they ship out is fine. But everyone makes mistakes, but not to the point of large pieces separating. Hope your replacement pair is perfect, it's what should be expected. I have only 2 pair new from the factory, Cornwall lll's and Forte lll's and both pair came out the box completely perfect.

  14. Installed new crossovers and ti diaphragms and tested the sound using the woofers that came with it, just for kicks, in the passive radiator spot. Sound is better, but those woofers hamper the bass significantly. Spoke with Klipsch Parts Dept. - Total for 2 new passives (KD-15 / #1063995) was $90, including S&H/tax. Considering the price for a quantity of 2: SS Recone kit - $90 (incl S&H) Matierials for Porting - $40 (not incl time and travel) ...thats a no brainer. I'll update once i receive and replace them.

  15. I've got a few more days of Kona left that I bought as a Christmas treat. We'll bust into a bag of 8 O'clock or Dunkins after that one's gone.

  16. The CF-4, RF-7, KLF-30, RF-83 and Chorus models are all of the big boys of Klipsch past not counting Heritage line or pro speakers, really can't go wrong with any of them. Which is better? Personal taste among other things will determine that.

  17. Great pick, this album is an example of quality recording. A master in my opinion. I always enjoyed listening to, never fatigue from over listening. Recently looked to purchase a copy as a gift, was surprised to learn out of print. Plus previous owned very costly. Hadn't realized that the album had become a collectable. 23. Here's what you need to understand. And I'm basing this on your quantity of threads started: You can ask us as many questions as you'd like. You can read as many reviews as you'd like. You're going to get a full spectrum of answers and read a full spectrum of opinions - but none of them are horse doody compared to your own real world applied experiences that you - yourself - are going to have to find out about. Eventually, you just have to start throwing darts at the dart board with the darts you have, and hope that one of them hit a bulls eye. Take advantage of company return policies, take advantage of money back guarantees, get out there and start evaluating how things sound to your ears. We can sit here all day and tell you a configuration is set up wrong, but if your ears don't know that - no one should care.

  24. This, or a good 3 channel amp for the LCR....the possibilities are endless!

  25. Really with your system if you have a nice, higher powered Receiver it should be able to handle the center channel and rear surrounds, its the RF-7's that are going to need an extra push to get the most out of them. As long as your Receiver choice has pre-outs for an external amplifier you can add a reasonably priced 2 channel amp for the towers and be done with it, probably the economical way to go.

  26. Hey Guys. Thank you very much for all the answers and advices. i arrived home last night and it was 41F in my apartment. I jeated up all night to 72F and the boxes were warmed up this morning with a lower sound, so i hope they heated up appropriately. now its time for The Expendables

  31. I'm not sure there's any help for me I just made a 6 hour round trip to Portland for an empty pair of Chorus cabinets, I'm still catching shiit for that.. the wife just doesn't understand. The word "rare" has worn off on her already, need to find a new angle.

  32. Man I am so sorry, Chuck. That is the toughest decision to make. Selfishly you want to keep them around as long as you can but you know what is best for them. Rough days ahead, I'll be thinking of you and Jake. All the best. RIP Jake

  36. I've been part of two other houses during the building stage. One was in Tulsa where it was at frame stage and my ex wife and I picked everything out but the plan was already picked in that neighborhood. We divorced in 2002 and I sold that house in 2003 after an "offer war" on it (higher amounts) and I moved to Denton, TX. That house was at about the same stage and I picked everything out. This one will be us picking everything from ground up. I have to get a perk test done soon and the house design/plans approved by the neighborhood "council". Once the perk test is done and filed, we'll put this house on the market and wait for it to sell and, once sold, will live either with her parents for awhile or with my best friend and his wife during the build. The hardest part is we have 3 cats and 2 dogs to move around with us. 3 of the animals are closing in on being 15 years on so it will be an interesting year since 2 of those 3 are showing their age. But it's very exciting. Having dealt with builders in the past when I was a manufacturers rep for home A/V companies and a trainer/programmer for home automation companies including Elan, Crestron, and AMX, I have an understanding of the order and process of building. My wife, on the other hand, has no idea and is nervous but excited about it all. Lol

  37. I think they can be beat, but it's an uphill battle. Belichick thrives in high pressure situations, they will be well prepared. For the Pats to lose, they will have to have an off game, for the whole game, and their opponent must be on their game. But maybe enough has happened around the Pats this season to create a weak point. The Colts are planning on signing their offensive coordinator, maybe a little ripple through the locker room will be enough to rattle them!

  40. You should. I have been thru several over the years and keep coming back; permanent this time (I swear...really). I even went 7 channel so I can power the patio speakers without adding another amp. Honestly, to me most MCs sound very close and now I go with looks; meters on two channel, LEDs on surround, both controllable.
