  1. The Embassy Theater in Ft. Wayne is one of my favorite venues. This will be an excellent show. I saw them in Indy a couple years ago at the Palladium.

  4. What model of Bunn? I remember only a handful that truly brew and end up with coffee in the 190s. I love to have a technivorm some day, but pretty hard to justify in my mind. In the past I put coffee into a carafe preheated with warm water like Neil and did not utilize the hot plate. Then I moved to a maker with insulated carafe and no hot plate. Finally I landed on a model known for make it in the 190 degree temps also without a hot plate directly into a stainless double walled carafe. Each step was an improvement in flavor and loss in bitterness. Mine rarely sticks around long enough to get cold. The wife and I are not really sippers. We sit and talk and gulp it down with a dedicated purpose in about 15-20 minutes for an entire pot. I really enjoy that time of day. Then we are off to take on the day. Good start to things.

  5. Jim is listed. It's 800 - 900 miles for him. My guess is Badabando. SoCal is about 1500 miles. Carl is not far.

  6. Bonavita, the poor man's Technivorm. I've had it for 2.5 years now and can't say enough good things about it. Worth every penny and then some. Work horse, zero problems (unlike my grinder I bought at the same time) and just gets the job done. I must have had 10 other makers prior all that had their plusses and minuses. This is a keeper.

  7. Clearly that’s ideal, but I like a second cup without the hassle of brewing each in small amounts. The carafe keeps it hot enough and seems to avoid the “cooked” taste it gets from sitting on the Bunn’s hot plate. I would rather nuke warm coffee from the carafe than drink it warm or drink it cooked. Clearly, I’m not a coffee connoisseur. That said, to open a new can of worms, I do put a divot in the grounds, let the Bunn start for a few seconds and stop it for ~30 seconds to get a “bloom.” To me, the resulting coffee is smother than just starting the process and letting it go to conclusion. So maybe I am a “cable guy,” when it comes to coffee.

  8. I was actually suprised to see them fairly close... Couple hours West on 30 so I'm thinkin it should be a nice Thursday cruise. I used the "Phone a friend" option and his secretary took care of the ticket dirty work for me. Row 2 center will work i'm thunkin. Hopefully this lil good lookin wench/old high school friend from Naples decides to shave her legs and smell delicious. Just shot her a txt informing her I was kidnapping her for the day. No reply yet but she'll bite. They all do when I make a guest appearance somewhere... HAHAHAHA!!!

  14. First you need a machine that makes it correct temp, most do not. It should also brew directly into an insulated carafe. No hot plate. I'm indifferent to microwave. Do it if you must. I'm not a fan of reheating cold coffee but if I got sidetracked and it cooled, sure.

  15. Drink it right after it brews and before it cools off. Toss anything you don't drink. Microwave?

  17. Yes, I'm definitely attending. I'm sure there are several others that are traveling a greater distance than my paltry 837 miles....but I get to stop in Memphis the night before, so I've got that going for me....

  18. I'm drinking cold leftover now ... waiting for the machine. coffee and beer share one thing. Good coffee and good beer still taste good when they are "off temperature" good coffee is good cold and good beer is palatable at room temp.

  27. That's me 100% Now I have done this, but never noticed a difference. (see above answer^^^) Using an old drip put it's easy to do. Being an old drip pot I boil the water and pour it in, the drip pot never goes on the heat. After it cools I nuke it. If I leave it sit in the cup to long I drink it at whatever temp it's at, even room temp. Actually it seems to have more flavor room temp ? But I drink an odd coffee anyway , Community N.O. blend dark and add one Truvia and a little creamer so always go refer back to the statement "I'm not a coffee connoisseur". When not at home just a little something sweet is good enough. Strange thing is like last week, 5 days in Hope with 3 cups total over 2 mornings and no adverse affects, you would think after 1.5 pots a day I would feel something different ? Withdrawals from caffeine or something ?

  30. I guess that if you use sugar, cream or creamer it's no biggie. I drink coffee black and reheating it just doesn't taste right. It gets bitter. I also only turn my burner on while the coffee is brewing to take the chill off of the carafe. Once the last drip hits I shut it off.

  31. There's 18 minute window.. Before the oils separate... I tend to shut it off about 10 minutes... During the summer i tend to save the coffee... And refrigerate.. For ice coffee later

  32. You did the right thing, you kept the ones you thought sounded best, not much else really matters. Myself I like a three way better, unless it's a really well done two way with the right parts, which cost much more.

  33. My tip is you don't want to "hear" the sub. If setup properly the woofers will sound like they are much more powerful than usual. You won't hear sound coming directly from the sub. This is my go-to video for sub setup:

  34. Try, try, and try again Had a JBL sub and it sounded like shi* ... replaced it with a 12: M&K sub and it sounded much more "musical." Then got a 15" Dayton HF subwoofer kit. Did not even"hear" it till I noticed the floor shaking ... seems like the more $$ you spend, the less you "notice" the sub ... but the "musical sound" get's much better

  40. I have the RC-64 II and am currently reviewing the RC-64 III. My personal opinion is get the matching RC-64 II. The tweeter and horn on the RC-64 III is different than that on your RF-7 II.
