Wow, this is TOTALLY out there! Gilmour with the Orb goin electro/club music? Crazy good is all I can say. Don't know what you're into but it's got the club beat combined w/Gilmour? Maybe think Floydishhh club electro funk rollin in from EVERYwhere right from the get go. It's a ride and I'm giving it a double thumbs up. WILD! Yea, I get the part about the Orb being around for a while but with Gilmour's touch it's almost magical. 💪💪💪💪💪3 points

Just a quick update. I did some serious listening over the weekend and I'm very happy with the amp. As good as my other Aric Audio EL84 PP amp is, and it is very good, this one takes everything to another level. Highs are silky and extended. Cymbals have a natural shimmer. The dynamics and bass depth and articulation are two things that surprised me most. Many mention that these are weak spots for low power SETs, but not the case here. These two areas have improved over any amp I've used with the Lascalas, and that includes a couple of 100 watt PP amps. Aric says it's the PS, transformers, and a couple of tricks he uses that Western Electric did. Of course the midrange is exactly what you expect from a good 300B amp. Lots of texture and detail in the human voice that makes it sound more "real". As mentioned by @doodlebum above, as long as I stay with horns, this amp is end game for me too.3 points

Correct - version B. After throughly scrubbing the board and dissemble of it, it had a lot of corrosion, I'm thinking the corrosion had an effect and rotted it. It still isn't producing sound loud enough to speak of. Figuring the board is shot, was able to 2 day one from Klipsch, they were very helpful. Figuring this will fix this.2 points

Allright, Heresy will be here tomorrow. Thanks for all the help Regarding the cheap amp - I'm currently using a Marantz PM5005(because of its decent phono preamp) alongside the Leben. I have my eyes on the Leben RS 30 pre, but need few more weeks to get a budget on that one.2 points

Just get the better speakers. Heritage line speakers are very sensitive to amplification. Get the best speakers and upgrade the amp later. But you already have a great amp for them.2 points

Cleaning up my 88 oiled walnut Khorns with ALK universals for sale. Thinking about an area sale where I would help transport if needed within 100 miles of Boston. Here are some initial pics of one speaker. Looking at listings and recent sales but prices are all over the map. Was there a member who kept a database of used sale prices?1 point

I started a thread in tubes last week about the impending arrival. Well it landed yesterday and it deserves a new thread. I was a little apprehensive about 8 watts. I've never owned anything so measly. Well I couldn't have been more wrong about that. This thing has balls for days along with the delicacy that the 300B is known for. I only got to listen for about an hour last night, but wow, very impressive. I'm sure much of this performance can be attributed to Aric's design and his overbuilt power supply. Glad to be in the DHT camp now. I will post more about how it compares to the PP EL84 amp I have been using after I've had more listening time. In the pic below, the PS is on the rack behind the amp, tethered with two umbilical cables.1 point

LG Sven1 point

I'm using the Jubilee DSP and also doing two PEQ bass cuts in the EQ in my processor to correct for room gain. I'm basically using the parametric EQ in my processor and REW to manually do bass room correction. It would be nice if you could do this right in the Jubilee DSP, but you can't. 🙁1 point

Southeastern is the fourth studio album by American singer-songwriter Jason Isbell, released on June 11, 2013 on Southeastern Records. Initially set to be produced by Isbell's friend and touring companion Ryan Adams, the album was recorded following a stint in rehab, with Isbell noting, "This time I want to remember it all. This is a 10th Anniversary drop so it's been out there a while. Laced with a lil bit of everything it's one that will grab ya and pull ya deeper into it. Nice and tight for ya!1 point

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I didn't realize the voracious scamming on CL (it's been a while since I bought or sold there). I got 4 scam attempts within 20 hours of listing. Khorns are going on US Audio Mart later today. peace, Mark H1 point

That is exactly what I suggested. I even provided a link. 😇1 point

Understood. And I know that making such a remark is a slippery slope and I would never do so lightly. That's why I qualified it by saying "as long as I stay with horns". If I get the itch to change up speakers, all bets are off. But this is the most expensive amplifier I have ever purchased and to go beyond it's capabilities (with the appropriate speaker) would be beyond my financial prudence. So I guess it's a wait and see venture. But my wife would roll her eyes and say "suuuuure"..... if she heard me say "I'm done"......1 point

Yes, both of us are speculating. When problem solving one forms a premise (or speculates) based on knowledge and experience then attempts to prove it or disprove it. My speculation is based on considerable experience working with these soundbars. What qualifies you to make the assumption that this is not another defect?1 point

Gonna sign a contract for a new apartment in my hometown where I was born on monday. Studied the local newspaper today . Found an offer which I thought that will meet my demands, called the owner and during our conversation he told me that he wants to see me a.s.a p. because we had a very nice conversation and felt sympathy for each other. So we met. I checked the apartment and it´s quiet nice , not big , but really beautiful. It has everything I need , incl. a fully equipped kitchen , a garden and a fantastique view into the landscape. During the next week I will pick up my most important apartment furnishings from the house into my new apartment. Than I will contact my laywer to start the war of divorce . It´s a start into a new life for me and I´m looking forward to live it . Pretty exciting 😂1 point

Finally put it all together. It has been awhile since I messed around with cables, and here is the thing of connecting three wires together (3 for L, and 3 for N - seven wires with a ground wire). Since the wires are positioned in a star configuration, all are different lengths when you try to connect them together ... and the space inside the connector is not that big. But one cut here and another there, and we are done 😊1 point
