Was at a hotel pool in Fort Myers, Florida back in the day and went to take a leak. I came back and there was this older woman sittin in the sun and waived me to come over so I did. She asked if I just went to the bathroom and I said yup. THEN she asked if I washed my hands after and I had so told her yea. THEN she wanted to smell them to confirm it so I stuck my hands out and she smelled them. She said good and that was it. Wanna talk about a WTF moment? Would she still have wanted to smell them if I said I hadn't? Maybe she had a ruler stashed somewhere? I'm STILL clueless! I asked the bartender if he knew her and he said she was from Toronto and there all winter. Told him the story and he said he didn't know anything. Maybe that was part of HER rules. I dunno but I've always wondered why. Maybe a rock n roll fantasy? Crazy ppl out there! @oldtimer got any input on that oh worldly one?

Thanks for the comments. I have had a bit more time with speakers and the sealing and new capacitors and coil are noticeable. I went through the Talking Heads catalog last night. Wow! Tina Weymouth's bass really comes out on both speakers, and particularly distinct on the treated speaker. Additionally as a bit louder volumes and heard quite a bit more detail in the more background sonics and instrumentations. With "Psycho Killer" from Stop Making Sense (the original CD version), I heard a bit more of David Byrne's cracking and "psycho-ness" in his voice as the song progress. Also I got more of the overtones on the guitar, and I could sense how hard he was striking the string and the sustain. With the speakers together I had a real sense of playing live and the presence of the room. Very cool. Off to some symphonic music next. I have a pair of titanium tweeter diaphragms that I my try out in the future I wanted to add that I installed T-nuts in the risers that will accommodate some spikes I had and will also accept Herbie's threaded gliders. As you may see, we have an older house and the floor is not entirely level. A new sideboard from Scandinavian Designs holds the Rotel RC 1572 (Mk 1), PS Audio S300, Marantz ND 8006, Rotel RT 1084 (I really enjoy HD radio - Why don't we have more?!?), and my first piece from college, Pioneer PL-518 with a Ortofon MM Blue cartridge. I have a REL T/9i in the corner. I have not tried the First Watt clones, Akitika GT-102 and Decware Zkit#1 I built during the lockdown. The room needs some treatment after our remodel with too many reflective surfaces. I do need to get under the house and add some bracing to the floor as it is very bouncy. I do have a question for the Peanut Gallery - How was the foam inside the cabinets originally placed for the Forte ll? When I opened the cabinet the two pieces were routed over the tweeter and down the sides. I read in another audio blog site where the foam was between the tweeter and squawker or behind the tweeter and the back of the cabinet. Any thoughts? I saw the inside of the Forte lV has a denser, stiffer foam attached to the sides and the ceiling of the speaker cabinet.

Hello All, I will be using my Home Theater System in the UK for the first time. I have a Yamaha RX-2080 receiver which can switch from 120v to 240v making it Dual Voltage. However, my Klipsch speakers range from 300-600 watts and they are plugged directly into the receiver for power. I want to ensure that I will not blow my speakers the minute I plug them in and turn up the sound. Can anyone tell me if that would happen? I plan to by a power converter just in case. Another thing to take into consideration is the first 3 games of the year that Harb's was suspended for? That was punishment handed down by U of M and NOT the NCAA. They haven't ruled on the original 4, yes four, counts yet. Factor this in? Something is gonna shake out and I think sooner rather than later. The B1G is looking pretty bad right now in the eyes of the OTHER two teams they're talking about adding to the Conference. The just added two this year and planning, so I've heard, 2 next year. So they win the Natty? Then what? It might be a laffer now but if you factor this debacle into the program and they wind up forfeiting seasons instead of games??? It would have a HUGE impact on U of M. THEN factor in Harb's no fault contract clause? Rumor has it Harbs wants the Bears NFL job that's supposed to open up after this season if the rumors are correct. Just rambling along while I grin just a bit. Kinda like my rambling about the B1G eliminating tailgating a couple years ago? Guys laffed. Guess what? You have spectacular speakers, don't skimp on the center, it's the most important speaker in an HT. Get a LaScala, Belle, or a Cornwall.

@JJkizak I know of several ways to stop sign stealing. I've watched it happen at OSU with different teams that were known/suspected to steal them. I've watched both Coach Day and Urban do different things that tripped up other teams. This level is an entirely different story. The dude went to blue and the Naval Academy and into the Marines. He was hired by ichigan as an assistand and worked with the Defensive Coordinator. If you look at the last post from 10TV in Cbus it will tell you the story. That tape is now in the hands of the NCAA. The dude bought two tickets to the OSU and Penn State game. One on each side of the field and video taped the plays from the other sideline. So blue gets the entire game tape to study and he plugs in his video w/the cards showing and they've got everything they need for both teams. It's not rocket science. There are also a couple other things that haven't been released publically yet. The two prior years it happened too. OSU got hammered big time by blue. Look at last year. Seriously? You're gonna tell me blue won that big w/o help from somewhere? Coach Day has lobbied for in helmet audio for the last 3 years to no avail with the B!G. NOW it might happen. Whatever shakes out will shake out. As fans all we can do is wait to see what they come up with to solve the problem. Harb's could be gone and a lot of forfeits in the future so now we just wait.

If not a sawzall perhaps an oscillating tool could also work... Do those need more of the wall cavity to work properly? I just looked at the drawings and the subs are sealed boxes. They do, however have a front flange all the way around them, though. The Klipsch PRO-250RPW are open on the back, and MAY require the full height of the wall between the studs. I can't find enough info on the Klipsch site to tell if they require that or not.

That's a good thing most people have a weight problem, I have never been skinny, now 6'2" and 250-255, I need to lose 25 pounds, I feel better at that weight. The older I get the harder it is to lose but I am trying, no sugar or carbs. Maby I need to get a Sarong ?

It all has to do with the person you are, yes you have designed some OK speakers and what many know you for, but that is only a small part and not your best quality and no It's not fishing either.
