  3. Sortin that email inbox sooo yea this makes it bearable... Been a couple days. πŸ˜‚ Totallly random Monday I think. Tunes just keep poppin in my wittle head. lol Back to my safe place... Laid over in Utah once long ago when this song first broke. We met these 3 sorority chicks who used this as their theme song for some reason. Yes, there's more to the story because about 10 of us got totally trashed and they proceeded to teach us all the lyrics. They had the max tease on and I went to the top of the slow learner class. Crazy nite. The next day we were stumblin around in some high dollar back yard just shaking out heads and laffin trying to remember it all. We did't even know how we got there. Then Dad walked outta the mansion on a mission. Two cabs waiting out front for us. Don't knkow where the wimmen went but they left their clothes. Yes, I have flashbacks! πŸ˜‚

  5. @JohnJ Ewwwww, doom & gloom for sure. Never had those things and never want to. The stories I've heard about them make me cringe. My fingers are crossed for sure John. Get outta there! @grasshopper you an accident waitin to happen or what? It's only Monday. Wait, don't you have that good looking female doctor who smells good? Got snow laying around here but it'll melt.

  9. I am running the Klipschorns full range. I believe the 212/SX is integrated nicely as sound is present around and in front of me. There is no sense of any speaker standing out. I have not noticed any distortion since adding the SW. I never noticed any distortion with the Klipschorns before the REL either. The overall system clarity has improved with the SW. I am now able to understand words in songs that I could not make out without the lyrics pre 212/SX. Also, I listen to broadcast TV or any movies 4K etc at lower volumes since adding the REL. The Improved clarity has allowed me to listen at lower levels to actually hear more details. I would have loved to pick up the new Klipsch Horn SW but space did not allow for it. There is a new sense of satisfaction when experiencing music or video that I have not quite felt before. The Klipschorn and REL experience is other worldly.

  10. Yes, I've tried different cassettes, all act the same. I can see belts and pulleys/gears moving, but its likely the capstan or idler is not being engaaged. I am deciding whether to remove the front or not. I would rather not get in too deep. A previous service did get most of the hardened grease out of the mechanisms which did help. The REW and FF speed seem slow, which also points to the idler.

  11. I would be inclined to ask what you are paying the doctors for? ... other than the painkillers I may go to the Dr to have him take a look at my wound. It looks "OK" ... to me. I'd like a Dr to look at it, though

  12. I wish I had been more with it when I was younger. I saw Albert King in Chicago in the late '60s. He was living in Memphis when I lived there in the late '70s. If I had more nerve and knew it I should have looked him up. I've met a few folks, but I should have gone out of my was to find them a reach out. Ha! It was pre internet.

  13. Morning, it sounds like the K-105 tweeter in one of my RF-3s has a problem. I noticed the highs were muted on a track (The Last of the Mohicans, track3) I know should make the horns sing. Checked the connections and swapped the driver into the other speaker and its equally muted there also. As final confirmation I installed the K-105 from my RC-3 center and the sound returned as it should. So, there's a good chance the diaphragm is on its way out and needs replacing. Both tweeters have the original 2001 diaphragms, so it seems like best practice would be to replace both to account for any slight differences. There seems to be no shortage of aftermarket diaphragms, but the replacements offered by Simply Speakers were recommended. Anybody here have any experience with the Simply Speakers diaphragms? And should I replace the furrofluid while I have them apart? Thanks

  15. They changed it up a little. It's theirs they can if they want. Ten years ago, I'd pay to see them again!

  16. Thanks guys. You are so right, especially after I drove up there. Apparently they don't do that here. I am well aware of the perforation risk. Wouldn't risk offending the ones helping me! It's moved but this one has the longevity record too.

  20. I've got a release of those two and it does have Stormy Monday Albert talks about him and Janice and Jimi *(don't change my words, google) doing it. I think up New York State years ago. I like the funk that Albert brings along with all his music.

I cut my leg the rest of the way off ... nah nah Turned the compost [that I was hauling] in. I'm OK with clean dirt. The ground is almost too wet to turn... 25. No, he probably tries to deal with people who need the items shipped to them then he can talk them into sending monies on the chance they might receive the product. He would probably just ignore anyone local that wants to come and see / hear the speakers. Some of these people are very convincing I had a guy talk me into selling to him out of state we talked on the phone for 20 minutes he obviously knew about stereos and speakers and a lot about Klipsch specifically, could have been a member here. Kind of a red flag when the check shows up for $7500 for a pair of $900 speakers and he wants me to give the guys picking up the speakers the difference? I was like yeah no, sorry bud.

  30. The REL website matched the 212/SX with Khorns, so I went with that. The soundstage is bigger, sometimes wider than the speakers on good recordings. My head snaps around to the location when that happens. The system sound clarity is also better. I listen at lower levels now because of the increased clarity. I have always been happy with the bass from the Khorns but that is where the biggest and most positive change has taken place. My neighbor, a drummer, has always liked the bass of the Khorns but he also loves the improvement in detail and quality. We hear subtle details not heard in familiar recordings before adding the REL. It is not a matter of more bass, the REL is rated to 18Hz. Drums sound different. You really notice the difference between a mallet or stick hit. I feel the texture in the mallet hit that I never did before. The stick hit is a little sharper than w/o the REL. Overall, after and during a listening session l enter a state of complete satisfaction and calmness. I have never quite experienced that before. I thought about 2 RELs, and that may happen. But I have to say, I am wondering how much better the sound can get. I will add the REL Bassline Blue cable for sure. The 212/SX may still be breaking in as the sound has improved over the last two weeks. At this point I do not "need" the second REL but I may want that last little bit of improvement.

  31. A beautiful concert by Donald Byrd at the Olympia in 1958: I like the style of this reissue: the record as originally in 58: the Brunswick labels are magnificent = see my photos, the beautiful original photos of JP Leloir, the quality of the cover, the glossy front photo, the "50s" style back, the antistatic lined quality "SAM" sleeve... Music, I'm discovering at the moment: I like https://londonjazzcollector.wordpress.com/2013/04/13/new-donald-byrd-quintet-byrd-in-paris-1958-brunswick/ https://www.discogs.com/fr/release/22148350-Donald-Byrd-Byrd-In-Paris-Volume-1 😍

  32. Interesting? Harbs interviewed w/the Chargers and was offerred the head coaching job, which he supposedly accepted today. Nothing much coming out yet but... It remains to be seen if he'll be saved harmless by blue after the NCAA investigation and the possibility of them having to vacate the Natty and many conference games in the past years. Oh the OTHER side of rhe coin the portal has been so VERY kind to the Buckeyes especially w/the retirement of Saban @ Bama. We picked up their starting Center, QB and Safety so far in addition to Air Nowland committing. Needless to say, the QB room is now OVER loaded with talent. Many other Buickeyes have decided to return to OSU after hitting the transfer portal after the loss to Missouri. It's about unfinished business they say. Coach Day has been trimming the coaching fat and replacing people with more qualified people imo. A new OC so he can totally step back from play calling and devote more time to the game itself. At what cost you say? So far the number I've seen is 12M spent in the NIL portal @ OSU. Recently CJ Stroud paid into the funds at the platinum level which is 50-100k. The entire athletic department raised 234Mil last year. Many of those high dollar athletes are donating monies back into their respecctive program to insure other players get a cut of their personal money in an all-for-one effort. That's happening at a lot of universities it seems. Some crazy numbers out there for sure. The 234mil number is across the board w/all sporting activities at the university.

  33. I love Tesla. Saw the Tesla/Poison concert twice. Little Rock AR and Shreveport LA. I went for Poison and learned to really like Tesla. I love most of the "hair bands". Back in the day of cheap tickets and plenty of tours, I saw a lot of them. Warrant, Motley Crue, Skid Row, Kix, Brittany Fox, Firehouse, Trixter, Winger, Cinderella, Def Leppard, Ratt, and even Nelson. I enjoy a lot of different styles of music, but I really like 80's "hair bands"...lots of good memories.

  34. I got the set for my husband's anniversay gift. Pre-ordered from Amazon. I got a great price, quick delivery , and free shipping. SCORE! We were watching some of New Hope last night with the comentary. I liked it. I was really excited about watching the behind the scenes on III making the helmet, etc. knowing we will get to see Hayden make the full transformation into Darth Vader.

  35. We just bought a Bayliner runabout a couple of weeks ago. They wouldn't budge off MSRP either. They threw in a few extras (Cover, anchor, etc.) since the trailer was included in the package.

  36. Would you believe my husband and I just won one of these in a drawing. We bought tickets for a fund raiser, thinking of it as a donation. Then we found out that we won. I was like, cool...an extra DVD player for the bedroom. The one we actually received, however, doesn't have the built in DVD player. Just a 5.1 decoder, sub, & sats. We haven't even taken it out of the box. I guess we'll give it a whirl just for the heck of it. Or we'll give it away as a gift. Haven't decided yet.

  37. I get quite a few Cardinals in the yard. I also put out hummingbird feeders in the summer. This is the first time in several years that I put up a Martin house. Mosquitoes love me therfore, I love Purple Martins. My husband and I recently moved into my Granfather's house to care for him since my Grandmother passed away in January. He has several cockatiels. The two in the den ,where the computer is, have discovered music. I noticed one night when hubby was playing music on the 'puter that they would "dance". One bobs up and down while the other paces side to side on it's perch. We get a kick out of watching them.

  38. Here's one female reply. I guess, my husband is the actual audiophile. I just tag along for enjoyment. And yes, sometimes I can't work the remote. I can manage to handle hooking up a few things on my own...it just takes me a lot longer than my husband...but the wires are MUCH neater if I get a hold of them. That's a pet peave...messy wires. I like having things sound good. I may enjoy showing off just a little bit too.

  41. Yep they told you right. It's a very popular place after they plow the field or it rains. They say that dirt doesn't stick to the diamonds, and that "You'll know it if you find one". They've found all kinds. My Aunt's was a tiny speck. You wouldn't bother having it cut. But they found some enormous diamonds years ago. They still find good size stones of various quality. There are people who are regulars...and they know what they're looking for. They have people there that can tell you what you've found...like all the different rocks, minerals, etc. ( That would be what I found ) I can't remember if it's a bell or a siren that goes off when someone verifies they found a diamond.
