  5. I’m running three Aiyima AO7 class D amps on my LaScalas and they sound great. Although I did replace the op amps with some TI LM4562. The AO7 usually cost around $70 online. I also have the previously mentioned Crown XLS 1002 and it sounds nice with my KP-250s.

  7. As I always say, all music is subjective. I took lessons with Joe Morello for eight years. He is considered one of the greatest jazz drummers if all time, and I learned a ton from him. That being said, his playing is just not my cup of tea. It doesn't take away from the talent and knowledge though. Same thing with speaker choice I suppose. Some folks hate Klipsch...I love them.

  8. I am just so happy i can hear music again! And birds and all the other noises around me. Last week i had to give my aids to the hearing aid repair for couple of days and that was honestly really challenging for me. I think i am not going to do that mistake again and will always have a plan b in the future.

  9. And to save yourself additional trouble of adjusting levels it's better to use 6 identical channels or all same amplifiers (3 stereo).

  14. Hi All, this forum is the best! Love all the posts and professional opinions on here. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on mounting of the AL5's on a shelf (at around listening height) where the shelves were essentially cabinetary with lots of vinyl/records/plants etc within the cabinets. The speakers would essentially be encase in cabinetary and would be about 12" away from the the rear wall. Listening distance from them would be about 5-10 feet. Fidelity doesn't need to be "super" hi-fi, but it would nice for them to not sound muffled or too damp. Any thoughts? See image below as an example of what the cabinets may look like. Thank you ! Any advice would be very helpful.

  16. Interesting article but it is dated- Klipsch has moved on from this style tweeter a few years ago now and have switched to Celestion drivers.

  17. Congratulations. Like you, I am relatively new to Klipsch ownership. My Forte IIs are paired with a Marantz 2285b and sounds amazing either with the Teac RTR or our Turntable. Love the sound

  19. You sent I replied to this ad because I'm a big Speakerlab fan and use to know the founder. As follows; Hi: I'm Jim. I am an acquaintance of Pat Snyder, founder of Speakerlab. They were made here in Seattle. I own two pair of Speakerlab Super K's. Klipsch didn't purchase any parts from, or have anything to do with Speakerlab. I have had, and still have many models of the original Speakerlab speakers and am and have been a fan for over 50 years. I see nothing on your speakers that would prevent them from needing a corner to "finish the horn" of the speaker. The corner of the room is the mouth of the bass horn. Without the corner, the speaker would not reproduce a 31.2 HZ frequency. The "finished sides" are just speaker cloth to make them look better. eBay has 2 Genuine Brazilian Rosewood Veneer Sheets on their web site right now and it is expensive. Klipsch didn't have anything to do with Speakerlab going out of business. They didn't have enough Market share and could have been managed better. Paul, owner of "The LoudSpeaker Store" in Kent Washington, owns all of the patents to speaker lab. As much as I wish these speakers would sell for the price your asking, they just don't. You are being made fun of on the Klipsch Community website. FYI. Be well, Jim

  20. My back wouldn’t like that at all. My favorite Strat is the black one up front. It's got a thinner alder body from a Squier affinity series Strat and a neck from a Korean made Squier II. It also has an old set of Fender Custom Shop Texas Special pickups that were in the other Strat when I bought it.

  26. AAAHHH !!!!!!!!!!!!! wanna return to the rehab clinic 😂, I mean it was like making holidays there , three weeks vacation ! Full room cleaning service, laundry service, 3 meals a day like in an international hotel kitchen , swimming pools, waterbed hydraulic massages, mudd bathes, sporting centre and so on . I´m really missing that since I´m back home . Now I have to take care of these things on my own again . Okay ...I´m biking , my next public swimminghall isn´t that far away, I´m waiting for my confirmation for the sports excersise club´s time schedule , than I can start up there as well. After the easter holidays I´ll start to play tabel tennis again, the trainee halls are closed till april 8th. Lot´s of papwerworks to manage in view to the upcoming possible retirement procedere. Will take up to six month till final decisions are done. So it´s better that I shouldn´t complain, I´ll have to make the best out of it. A bit of spring time feeling here today ..shall be 60 F in the afternoon and the sun is watching through the clouds as well.

  28. well... that's a tough one. I DO think the 2050's have a different sound signature to the six nine one that I do enjoy/prefer over the entire 'range'... but it's not a GIGANTIC performance difference that one can take advantage of in a home setting. It is a change that is slightly > more than just 'Subtle'. In terms of the economics, I am okay in spending the money for the difference... I really don't measure things in a cost versus reward manner because there will always be a uncontrollable 'barrier to entry' price associated with equipment change, but I would NOT have done the swap had the Heritage model not had the same driver. Keeping the driver swap in the 'Klipsch' approved setup made it okay for me on a personal level. However, I am very curious in trying a Beryllium Diaphragm Driver... I just like/prefer the sound of beryllium and I think the 2050 gets me partially of the way there over a stock six nine one. To your original point... I do think that most would be MORE THAN happy with a 402/691 and AMT set up. I am trying for a bit more.

  30. There is no such thing as "underpowering" speakers. Once the sound quality and distortion of the amp is good enough, it is only a matter of, "Is it loud enough?" If you can achieve the loudness of the live music you like (say 105 dB for an orchestra), you're good.

  31. I am glad someone revised this thread. Been wearing some form of a watch for decades. Only in the last couple of years has it become a hobby(obsession).😉 A couple of my recent acquisitions. I think I have 10 straps for my Longines HC 39mm. Bill

  33. Hello. I wanted to start here first since I got such excellent information on the CF-3s and now new Outlaw reciever. I'm hoping to pick up a nice, used--properly working turntable. Doesn't have to be the best, just something good to listen to with my working class set-up :-) I'd like to stay under $200. Please let me know if you have anything that would match up nicely with my CF-3 and Outlaw. Thank you all very much.

  35. Same options just higher wattage? If so interested as I'm looking for an amp. to control the horns on the CF-3s I have.

  36. Thanks for the input Rivernuggets. That KH is for certain a cool retro option worth looking into. I’ll have a nice trial Monday as Crutchfield was kind enough to allow a free trial (shipping included) of a scratch and dent Yamaha AS500 which has been through their bench testing.Hopefully it is my amateur ear. Scott at Outlaw said I should not have had to ask my wife on the quality difference though as the volume I tested to should have had her running down the stairs to yell at me instead-pretty funny. Ps. Still waiting on the return paperwork from Outlaw so no info to report back at this time.

  37. Thanks again Dennie. Could most certainly be me as the clarity is the best I’ve experienced. Oddly for me though it’s the lack of bass what pulls all this down. Even with the boost and bass turned to 3:00 I’d need a good sub. to get what I’m getting now with the Yamaha and the CF-3s I would think would ever need a sub. with the proper set-up. Jazz or country might be a different story, but my collection mainly consists of rock/classic rock. Oddly very minor drums on everything I sampled and that’s something that does the Great Gonzo no justice at all :-)

  38. Thank you Dennie. Very kind of you to supply the insight. In this case I believe I have tried all the options. It could just take getting some used to, but it's just not there for my or my wife at this point. With that said the sound clearity is great--much better than the Yamaha ,but take for example the Eagle Hell Freezes Hotel Cal. The Outlaw produces a much bette intro, then the bass drum hits and it's very minor. I've read the manual a few times (online as I wanted to get it all right once the unit arrived). Adjusted the boost options, adjusted the bass, set it all back to neutral over a few times now. I'll admit this could all be me and by no means am I attempting to bash Outlaw. Using CDs with the CF-3s and my ears, it's just not working out. I guess the best way I could put it is the sound is very "Bose" like. Excellent clearity, but you can have it turned up very high and still talk to a person standing accross the room. Thanks once more for all the support guys. I'll eventually get it right :-) Have a great day.

  39. Hello all. Just wanted to check in as I need a little more support please. Here's the situation.....I got to really try out the new Outlaw today. Now let me say I'm very new to all of this first of all, but the receiver (to my untrained ear) perform much less than the old Yamaha 5.1 I "shelved" for it (with my CF-3s). I by no means am posting to put down the receiver, but to me it's not close to the quality of sound. Very on and off brightness with bass sounding like 6 in. paper cones. $625 isn't a drop in the hat for me so I wanted to ask/comment....1) Is there normally a big curve for a break in? 2) Maybe I'm a product of 90's wall of sound and just not used to real hi-fi? 3) Just go with what I started with since that is what sounds best to me? Sorry for the comments on a very well received and high quality product...just need a little input as it's just not what my ear is happy with :-) Thank you all very much for the time.

  41. Hey all.... Just wanted to say thank you again for all of your input and patience. The results are in (and approved by the wife :-) and the Outlaw will be ordered in about ten days. Can't wait and I would not have known about this without your help. Thanks very much and Merry Christmas :-)

  42. Shrill is a good word for it. Best sound I've ever owned because of the speakers, but the 5.1 is very touchy CD to CD. Far too much Treble and the Bass goes from zero to crazy :-) No way I can complain and adjusting makes it sound very good to me (normally the best on less complex mixes). I've taken seperate controls off the list. Really looking hard at the Outlaw though. Will most likely wait until after Christmas. Just hoping I can hear a nice difference after forking over $630.

  43. Read a bit more into this, I believe I might finally have this right- 1) Outlaw. Will not be able to have seperate controls for the horns & woofers. Excellent sound quality though where seperate controls my not be needed. 2) Keep the current receiver and add an intergrated amp. Will not have seperate controls for horns and woofers. Better sounds quality and power than current amp. 3) Keep current receivers and run two amps with level control to allow seperate horn/amp. control. Now do I finally have it :-)

  44. Thank you all once again for the input. To clear this up a bit my system will never be theatre. It's currently 2.0 and will most likely stay that way or 2.1 max. if needed (but these CF-3s do not need a sub right now in my house for sure.....). The Outlaw looks to be an outstanting option. Real close to ordering.... But... Where I got lost (and sorry for being so new) is the CF-3s have the option of powering the horns and woofers separatly. I've read this should be done for the best possible sound (but there is no way I want to invest as I believe that means at least two integrated amps correct?) And then how is the volume controlled uniformly? Too many questions...sorry, but that's what I'm still trying to wrap my head around right now. Basically, go with the Outlaw or go with two amps, a high price tag, but separate controls right? For me, the Outlaw looks to be my best option for quality and price and most likely get me to sound quality well beyond what I've ever heard. Just want to know about separation if I ever go that direction someday. Thank you

  45. Hey Rich, Welcome to the Madness! I have 4 pairs of the KSB1.1 (used to have them in my photo gallery in town). They are one of my fave little Klipsch speakers- very smooth sound in a compact box that's very sturdy. We matched volumes one time with Heresy, RB5, RB3, KG4 and KSB1.1. Guess who one a listening test? (the little guys)
