  1. I've always wanted to hear these two compared. I'll keep an eye on this post to see your results.
  2. Very nice looking horns and drivers!
  3. Sweet! You're a lucky man indeed. Congratulations.
  4. I'd like to hear a comparison between Cornwalls and Chorus. I own some Chorus II and they're amazing! I'll own a set of Cornwalls someday! Cornwalls using a horn loaded designed woofer as a direct radiator and putting out the bass that everyone says they do, blows me away. I heard some Cornwalls once, but at a low volume. Love my Klipschorns too! Rock on Klipsch...
  5. Have you looked at this man's website? Some information there on tapped horns he built. http://www.cowanaudio.com/
  6. I haven't listened to either of the speakers you're asking about. I do think you're better off with the Klipsch though. I'd bet their two 8" woofers out perform Polks four 61/2" and the Klipsch horn loaded tweeter out performs Polk's dome tweeter. I owned Polk's Monitor 7 speakers once and they sounded good, but their 61/2" woofers could not take any real bass at volume. Enjoy your Klipsch and welcome to this Klipsch forum.
  7. Look at your local www.craigslist.com listings under electronics. You could get lucky and get a set of Klipsch speakers local to you. I've bought stereo components including speakers and have got some good deals off there. Good luck. I grew up very poor myself. Welcome to the Klipsch forum.
  8. Wasn't Audio Buff once used too?
  9. If you can test it yourself to see if it still operates all OK and then sell it as is tested, inform buyers as to your findings, how you came about them, and let the new owner do what he wants to it as far as updating it with new components. They don't sell for a whole lot, so if you have to pay someone else to test it, it may not be worth doing that. In that case, just sell it as is not tested and you should still get some money for it.
  10. You did a great job with every aspect on those! They look stunning and I know they sound amazing. A great idea, design, and build. I'd really enjoy listening to those! I want a pair. Wow... [Y]
  11. You did very good! Congratulations and enjoy them.
  12. I'm happy for you that find this Eagles double CD Long Road Out Of Eden good. I find it boring... I tried to like it. I had trouble making it through both CDs. It lacks energy to me. It sounds their age to me. I do really like their DVD Hell Freezes Over.
  13. I got low on shrink tube once. All I had left was some that was too small in diameter. I cut a piece to the length I needed, slid it unto some fine needle nose pliers, and spread the pliers out stretching the tubing to a larger diameter. Stretch, release, stretch some more, release etc ... until you get it to the size diameter needed. Stretch too much too quickly and it will split. I then placed the stretched tubing over the wire and it shrank back to its normal size shorty after. You don't have a lot of time before it shrinks back to its normal size diameter, so you have to work quickly. Then all I had to do was put just a little bit of hair drier heat to it to get it to shrink some for that good tight fit. Do it all the time now. This can be good for places where you don't want a lot of heat placed. Now hand me my needle nose shrink tube stretcher.
  14. Very creative. Thanks for sharing.
  15. Are you stoned? You are stoned. You must be stoned. Everybody must get stoned. [:|]
