  1. But you do recommend measuring the speaker(s) at one meter with REW and adjusting digital PEQs, to get a smooth response from the loudspeakers, correct?
  2. My disc purchase from Amazon arrived already. The Mariinsky Orchestra and Ballet present a spectacular performance of The Firebird and Le Sacre du printemps. I selected DTS HD Master at first and switched over to PCM stereo. The Blu-ray recording is really good either way.
  3. I was going to ask your thoughts on the MFSL albums in general, but see that you addressed that in your most recent post.
  4. Your speakers look awesome.
  5. I just placed an order for the Blu-ray. I enjoy attending ballet performed with a live symphony, so I am looking forward to bringing this highly recommended recording into my home theater.
  6. I will be watching for future progress reports on your K-402 project.
  7. So you are pointing out that the movie industry has audio mastering quality standards? The movie soundtrack music that plays during the end credits usually sounds impressively good when listening to the Blu-ray or DVD version of almost any movie through my Klipsch speakers.
  8. These new amps are very interesting. Glad to be reading all of your reviews.
  9. Klipschorns crossed-over to the sub at 40Hz is a good setting. The other speaker pairs, or center channel in a surround system can be individually set to higher crossover specs more suitable to their capabilities.
  10. Some people are lucky to have a listening room that sounds good as is, and can focus on the nuances of their different music playback equipment, crossovers and amplifiers, etc. Many of us have room reflections and room modes that can or should be corrected. So all of the opinions on this thread are important aspects to consider for accurate musical playback response. As for my experiences, I am fascinated with the engineering, technology and quality of high end equipment, but, listening to the same audio system(s) in different rooms and outdoors make it very obvious that room acoustics play a very significant role in our perception of an audio system's sound signature.
  11. The AK-4 more likely has 2 in (LF IN, HF IN) and 3 outputs (WOOFER, MID, TWEETER), not 1 in and 4 outputs.
  12. Excellent work on your speaker veneer project. I like how you wrapped the corners for the continuous grain flow. I have admired all of your veneer projects over the years, and this woodgrain and color make these Cornwall IIIs my newest favorites.
  13. My Heresy IIIs are finished with the Lacewood that was used on the 60th Anniversary Klipschorns.
  14. The Roger Waters concert had excellent sound.
  15. That is correct about the risers. I believe they can be easily unscrewed if desired. I enjoyed reading your speaker comparison review.
  16. Subwoofers are perfect risers for this size speaker.
  17. Good to see that your La Scalas have made a safe journey to your home. The Rosewood veneer looks really good, as does your whole stereo system.
  18. That fan looks like the solution for warm AVR's and amplifiers. This company's options of top exhaust or rear exhaust models give us some good choices for our different equipment stacks.
  19. The "Sellers" of those listings are innocent victims of eBay account hacking, chosen by the scammers because they have good ratings.
  20. Probably the same fraudster as before, but hacked into and using a different eBay seller's account, without their knowledge. Please report the scam ad to eBay, select from the drop menus. Reporting that the ad is "Avoiding eBay fees" gets their attention. Here is a link to the past alert of a similar ad.
  21. I have some exotic wood cabinets that look especially good when spot lighted with low wattage halogen light bulbs. You may want to try some on your beautiful La Scalas.
  22. The KPT-1802-HLS data sheet specifies that the cabinet ENCLOSURE MATERIAL is 3/4" 7-ply plywood.
  23. Unboxed and hooked up to the amps.
  24. That woodgrain is too pretty to hide behind some grill cloth.
