what level to you usually listen at?

I sit 10 feet from my speakers and find myself usually listening at 45-55 db at my sweet spot. That is the point my speakers sound great with a lot of dynamics. I still crank the Fortes up sometimes but most of my listening is well below 60 DBs. I am curious how loud other Klipsch users play their music on a regular basis?

I sit a little over 14 ft from each speaker and I listen at pretty spirited levels. I'd say I average 80-85 db with 95 db peaks. Unless I'm listening to "girl at piano" music or something similar.

spirited, Maybe to 90db, but at that point it over pressurizes the room.

Yeah I thought 45 db sounded awfully low. I think the ambient background in my room is around 35-40.

Ambient in my living room is 30-35 —-/High 50 db or low 60-70 iDB are plenty loud - over 70 DB is too loud for me

I drive a loud corvette but I prefer medium music volumes . 80-90 dbs is loud to me

Haha; probably about 60dB's for TV ... close to 100dB's when I turn on my KPT-904's

Yes 90 dB is loud. I am able to listen so infrequently that I enjoy music at 80 to 90 dB. Although recently while getting my listening room better and better treated acoustic wise I am finding I can listen at less volume and still enjoy it very much.

I find uncomfortable levels a measure of how well a room is treated... in that the better it is treated, the more pressure it can handle before the sound begins to break down.

And for me at least how much distortion your loudspeakers are making. With the Jubes it is extremely easy to get way too happy with the mains fader.

The wife’s voice measures in at around  80 db , so 85 db is my magic number ,anything less than 85 , I will get a  horrible duet effect🤓 . When the little lady isn’t around, 75 db peaks are satisfying,    I’ll listen at 100 db peaks occasionally with some of my favorite music , but only for a few minutes  ,a movie with really good special effects and outstanding use of LFE can sound phenomenal at very high levels , I’ve measured 110  peak at my listening position  , but after the awesome scene, the volume is returned to sane levels.🤓

With the Jubes, I also find they can be louder as background music and we can still hold a conversation at the same time.

I tried going low wattage to help prevent going deaf. Too loud is my answer. Probably 70db average.

I'm gradually changing.  I just find such joy in letting it rip!  Historically, peaks around 100db.  These days, more like 90db and sometimes as low as 85db.  

 

Movies are a bit different.  I very much enjoy peaks of 110db or so in action movies.  Mind you, those higher peaks are almost always in the 30hz and under range.  I wouldn't enjoy that so much in the upper register.
