Cal Blacksmith
Hello everyone, I survived the surgery! It went well and though the doctor expected the surgery to take an hour and a half, it only took half an hour. There was minimal bleeding and no complications, PRAISE GOD! I was able to go home, well to my parents house, just 32 hours after surgery. So I am using their computer to send you a note. It is 3:00 am and I just woke up on my own, it is time for more pain killers so I will keep this short. I have a small pucker in my skin where they glued the skin together and it is weeping just a little bit but that should stop fairly soon. I never felt bad before the surgery and if it wasnt for this 12 inch hole in my side, I would not imagine that I was missing the kidney either. All the prayers and good thoughts sure worked, I was calm about the entire procedure. Now I just need to recover from the surgery and there is a very high chance that all will be well, and this chapter in my life will be over. The tumor was IN the kidney, about the size of an egg and was 100 percent contained IN the kidney so it really looks like this will be a permanent fix. Keep the prayers coming; I need all the help recovering I can get! Thank you all!!! Wayne
oldbuckster
Good, glad to hear it Cal...........You must take your time recovering, I didn't, and it set me back a good 6 months, but your probably smarter than me, so take your time, do what your told, and get well, and back on the forum. 32 hours after surgery, that's great, I spent 8 days after surgery, but I didn't mind, hell, I liked the food. You are on the road to recovery, Wish you the Best............later, Bud !!!!!!

fini
Great news, Wayne! Like others have said, pay attention to doctors' orders. Don't lift anything heavy (like honkin' tube amps or Cornwalls) either!

DrWho
That's good to hear. So do the parents have Klipsch speakers for you to listen to while you recover?
Daddy Dee
Thanks for the update. Glad you are home to your folks. Keep hanging in there. Take the pain meds. Pain induces stress that slows down healing.

Piranha
Wayne, I am happy to hear that you're doing well. It's also great to know you didn't have an extended stay in the hospital. That's sure not a fun place to be. Rest up and follow your doctors orders. I hope to see you around here on a regular basis again real soon. Thanks for the update. Best wishes, and get well soon! sputnik
Hey Wayne. These threads about your recent surgery have slipped right by me. I was listening to a couple of the CDs you sent to me a while back and wondering how things were going with you. Glad to hear all is well. 150 plus pounds! That's great, it's like not having to carry around the weight of another person. I'll bet it's fun for you to put on your old clothes and see the difference now. You're an inspiration, I'd like to shed some weight before ski season. I didn't have a lot of success with my beer only diet as hard as I tried earlier this year. Oh well, hang in there and keep posting.
