    • In my opinion, Klipsch are not shouty. The problem is that end-users are often mating modern analytical Chi-Fi tube amps and cheap receivers to them. Then there's bright solid-state amps as well. My Heresy II's stock lean on the warm side if anything. Today's gear is often too revealing and many don't mate the proper amps to the Heritage line.
    • Well, these eminence woofers are gradually coming to life, and it's definitely impressive. These are one heck of an upgrade for me right now. What an amazing Christmas gift from my wife!   I had believed my original k33 woofers were getting worn out and tired. I didn't realize how bad they were underperforming or that anything was even amiss. Now I know with absolute certainty that they were a major weak link. I'm sure they sound really great when up to spec. Too bad mine were on their way out, and too bad it took me 10 years to change them out. Better late than never though.   With the kappas, there's so much more life and energy in these speakers right now, it's really satisfying. Everyone is always talking about the speed and punch of horn loaded bass, especially with the la scalas, and I never experienced that at all with my k33 in my speakers. I think I'm getting a taste of that now with the kappas.   I can't really call these Klipsch Belle speakers anymore, and I'm definitely ok with that. They sound so much better. I've changed out all of the original parts one piece at a time over the years, funds permitting. I appreciate everyone here and all the wealth of information shared on these forums. My system is where it's at right now, thanks to everyone here.   I replaced the original k500 midrange horns with Dave's wooden fastrac tractrix horns and they're currently using the John allen A55G drivers. Now I'm wondering how much better the a55g II are? My original tweeters were replaced with the LMAHL from Dave A and they use b&c de10 drivers. My crossovers are Type AA with all Jupiter caps done by Dean. I also had to add a tweeter attenuator from ALK to tame the highs of the de10. Every upgrade has been a substantial improvement, and I feel that these eminence kappa 15c woofers are going to be the icing on the cake. I appreciate Claude for sharing information on these woofers.   The only thing I'm missing now would be a table tuba of some sort. Right now I have a hsu research vtf 15h, which I use in sealed mode. I feel it works well and gets the job done for now, but I'm sure a horn loaded subwoofer would be a big eye opener for me, and I know it would match the bass of the Belle better. My father in law does a little bit of wood working. I'm sure I could get some help from him.
    • I've actually already done the ports along with sound demos in the video. I was mostly interested in other's experiences.
    • So... while out grocery shoppiing at a store in this huge mall, I couldn't resist this shot. The left side of the aisle in tune, the right side is all sardines...
    • Quad and Klipsch is a nice pairing.

    • The K-77 can only take about 2 watts. If memory serves, the leads are 40 gauge. As the voice coil heats up, so do the leads. At some point - a lead will burn through.
    • I was being nice. That is why I suggested to make a new back panel for the port experiment......can be undone quick and easy.
    • They do.  Among other options.   Just answering the question about how they sounded with original drivers and ported before I swapped woofers.  Follow the ‘recipe’ and you’ll be happy
    • I believe the Super calls for a k-42 woofer- have you heard that config? I had a set of the HIP's with type B crossovers along with other mods and they sounded pretty good to me but still not enough bass for my liking.
