  1. 2445H JBL Drivers, Complete Horn Units w/JBL Factory Mounts $400 for the pair, Pick Up or maybe I meet you half way, ask before you buy. From here they go to Ebay TODAY! and they will not be $400, so the time would be now. Iv been listing to these for a week with the Scalla base unit, and they can take the wattage. I understand they had new diaphrams two years ago.

  5. She has her own double car garage up front, few years back I installed a server rack in the corner of it, Pyle 2K Amp, CD w/remote and a couple Old Bose and Bic Venturi's , we have another double garage out in the back yard, this I built from scratch Fully insulated including the door, this is the "Cave". 5 bedroom house and we are only using three, so plenty of storage. She also said now that they are "in Storage" jack the price to a Grand and go 30 days!

  10. I would like to ask a question those who know Heresy's and the RF63. Or more broadly the Heritage and Reference lines. I want to know if the RF63's have the slam and dynamics and punch which so far I have only heard in the Heresy's? You know what I mean, with the Heresy's you feel the drums in your room, or should I say, over your head it's been so addictive experience, I cannot give that up As I will never part with my RF7's either I wanted to know if the smaller drivers in the RF63's can do my 3rd pair Greetings from France!

  11. The past few months I have been upgrading my Khorns with Gregs products and wanted to share some thoughts on them. First off Greg is a down to earth guy who will spend time answering emails and talking on the phone to answer questions and share thoughts. Each Piece I have purchased from him to date is very well crafted and thought out. The V-tracs are very solidly built to begin with and fit was perfect into my K-horns. I actually hate to have these covered up by the grill cloth but even that was stretched and stapled to perfection. I bought the 120 adaptors for my stock k-55's to use on these as well. Those are also made well and mounted nicely onto the horns with everything lining up perfectly. The interesting process that Greg describes when making the adaptors seems to have worked in my opinion. I have had great results with this set up and I probably would not ever really need to buy a 2" exit driver. Of course I plan on doing that just the same cause I am so into knowing what the next thing will bring. The idea that you can do these upgrades in several steps and each time get that thrill and likely reward for going to the next tier is fun. Gregs offerings support this notion very well. When I recieved the VTK crossovers and opened them up I was floored by how they looked. Robust, clean looking and again well crafted pieces for sure. I dont know if I can ever bury them under the top hats or not, I have been very happy with the sound of these networks, and the amount of flexibility they provide while maintaining a simple aproach is noteworthy in my opinion. Volti keeps an inventory of everything they sell in my experience and I recieved my order in a couple of days each time. Not having to wait is a plus for an impatient fella like myself. Everything was expertly packaged as well. Overall a great experience dealing with Greg and I feel I have a friend I can sometimes turn to for advice and opinions as well. These upgrades are all improvments, sound fantastic and are worth every penny I have spent. These are just my opinions an the Volti products and I would not like to see this turn into a who built what first debate as I have seen here before. I wanted to share my experience to help anyone with thoughts of upgrading and to explain a little the road I am going down. I dont see much value in a proprietary debate with things that have been around in one form or another for many many years. Horns, crossovers and speakers have been around for a very long time after all. Its about takin it to the next level I would say, healthy competition makes us all better. just gotta sell off some used parts now....

  12. For me, I see my RS-42 as my bottleneck. This is a nice little gem but I'd like something bigger to "match" the others. Then replace my RS-3II to match. I know the RS-3II is older but it does its job pretty well up on that wall. And then my Pioneer Elite BDP-94HD blu-ray player. It's an awesome player but it's just darn way too slow when loading blu-ray movies.

  21. Wow! That is the first DVD I ever bought and will see how loud I can get it on my HT tonight...Btw, I saw that the Blu-ray was only Dolby Digital 5.1 so I didn't "upgrade" because I thought the sound would be the same--Is it or were you watching/listening to the DVD?

  22. The inductance of the autotransformer is so high, it can be treated as a non-factor. So what you have is a cap and coil, so it's 12db/octave. Using a Bessel alignment and 13 ohms, I can get real close to the stock values.

  23. Ebay listing expires in a couple hours, horns are now in a temp controlled room for storage, they will be re-listed w/shipping option this time around and it's going to be expensive. Im thinking about doing an "Arab Sale" that is where you post an item at an insane price and some wacco arab buy it.

  32. Been coming to this site for years, even before I got my rf 7ii, and I have always found it to be very helpful and informative . The group of guys here are great and have a great sense of humor and ive never felt as if im being talked down to or judge . I think what Youthman and Dean give to the site is very informative to all. Dean runs a business don't expect him to give away all his secrets. Which I and many others are willing to pay.

  34. Like I told the other "not idiot" -- get busy!Right, I refuse to do a step by step instruction process for this because I'm afraid you or someone else might start a crossover business. Hey, I have an idea, why don't you write the instructions and field all the phone calls and emails. The problem here is that neither one of you paid very close attention to what I wrote. I have a wife, children, a day job, and work piling up on my bench. I barely have time to field my normal email traffic. I have no idea what either of you are offended over. It's my time, and I think I should be allowed to spend it as I want. I don't owe either of you anything. It's me who should be offended. Edit: I'm not really offended as much as I am upset over the fact that you aren't willing to see this from my perspective. There is another issue I forgot to mention. I have a verbal non - disclosure agreement with Klipsch. It's not the kind that involved lawyers, but a handshake. Klipsch doesn't release much in the way of engineering data on current production loudspeakers, and I was asked to sit on anything I run across or given. There were things I knew about the RF-7 that I didn't talk about until after they were discontinued.

  35. You are efffing killing me on these prices! lol, They look so frickin good, and sound the way sound reproduction is meant to be. I would suggest building a hanger or simple loft to store them. You are giving them away and it hurts being 1700 miles from you, 3400 round trip. All 4 of these ev are correct and look so good. there are very few people who look at these and understand what they are. They can be very efficiently used in a small room as well as a 10K+ person outdoor pavilion. I do understand your predicament with space. Im just lost for words cause of how sought after the quality that your offering for so very little with drivers.

  36. gawd man thats a screaming deal. they look grrrreat....You should keep a pair and run on tubes and get a couple good 12" drivers in single cabs and run them on solid state off a 2 way electronic crossover. I have freinds out west and did some schooling out there years ago. My old neighbor in san jose has no time too drive a couple back to our home town, i discussed it with him the other night or id be up for a pair to do what i just said. man it kills me to see such sweet horns with good drivers for basically the price of your time alone $100each, seriously

  39. I bought a pair of Khorns (mid 70''s I think) for the bass horns and I'm selling the tophats and the side grill frames. Everything is in poor cosmetic condition. Three of the four bass side grill frames are in good condition, as in not broken, but the cloth is no good. Will sell as a set of four, three, or individually. I suppose the broken one could be fixed. It wouldn't be easy though. I have one that I can put with the three that is broken, but not as bad as the other one. It would be easier to fix. On the tophats, I am willing to sell just the wood pieces, just the internals, or both. I can put on a pallet and send by truck, or pack in a box to send by Fedex. Pretty flexible on how we work it out. I'm flexible on price too. Not really sure what this is worth, so my prices are a starting point. I have now tested all the components, and they all work. The K77 pair $70, K55 pair $120, K400 mid horns pair $150, crossovers pair $100, Mis-matched pair of K33 woofers, one is original with square magnet and the other is a Klipsch replacement woofer $100. Tophat wood pieces that make up the cabinet (four ‘homeplate’ pieces, four side pieces, and two risers) - $250 Two horn motorboards that fit into the tophat cabinet (old cloth still on them) - $100 Four side grill frames (old cloth still attached) (one broken) - $250 All prices are negotiable, especially if buying more than one item Prices include my time to pack for shipping as well as the cost of packing materials.

  40. You forgot about all the US made, warped LP's, with "snap, crackle, pop" recycled vinyl, that was pushed thought the press too quickly. The worst, and unplayable for me was a Linda Ronstadt LP at the height of her popularity. Crap was always in production somewhere, even before CD's, in the name of faster profits. Now it's the lowest bit-rate-for-faster-downloads-at-a-buck-twenty-nine-a-pop time in the history of crap. All are PAINFULLY audible on all Klipsch products, from Headphones to Khorns.

  41. welcome Dave to the forum, and congrats on your purchase. as Schu said above as long as all the drivers are working sit back and enjoy. the hardest driver to hear working is the tweeter so many of us here stick a bath towel in the opening of the midrange ( to block off the sound ) and then stick your ear up to the tweeters to see if you can hear them working. you should have no problem hearing the others. so sit back and enjoy oh yea, pictures, we want pictures

  42. This was something I was going to mention, glad Schu brought it up. I would make sure everything is working, when the upgrade bug hits (if it ever does) you can address that later. There are a lot of folks who have and noticed a great improvement. Me how ever I am very happy with my stock Cornwalls.. Again this goes back what sounds good to you.

  43. that's it... plug and play. if the drivers are working there is not much you can do unless you are planning to upgrade. certainly components loose efficiency over the years... all the usual culprits are affected, specially parts of the cross overs.

  44. I have had a hobby/obsession with music playback equipment since I bought my first stereo in 1971. Over the years, I've owned a large number of loudspeakers, from Magnepan to Theil, LS35a's, Linn Kan's, B+W's, Totems and many, many others. About eight years ago, I wanted to buy something that would do AV as well as pure 2 channel, with an emphasis on 2 channel. With a budget that finally did not constrain me, I listened to everything I could find in Chicago. Revel, Martin Logan, B+W 600, 700, 800 and CM series, Paradigm Studio and Reference,. Proac. Polk LSI and lots of others went under the microscope. As a long time audiophile, I wanted to consider all the phases of loudspeaker performance: frequency extension, soundstaging, PRAT, etc. etc. etc, For dynamics, clarity and the effortless performance nothing else could match Klipsch. I settled on Klipsch Reference and since then I've put a pair of forte's downstairs in the living room. Klipsch speakers also work well without having to buy ridiculously expensive amplification to do their thing. There are things that other speakers can do very well and there are some I like a lot, but as far as drawing me into the music, the answer is Klipsch.
