Got everything hooked up last night. Everything sounds great! Still dialing it in. Pics to come.6 points

i thought it would be fun to start a thread so we could talk about how much our kids are following in our footsteps down this very fun road of audio enjoyment! So let's post some pics of our kids and our speakers! my son is 3.5 years old and for the last year or so he has been able to turn on the tv, open cabinets, knows exactly which input button the blu ray player is on on the avr, turns on the inuke for the subs, and blu ray player on as well as open it. only thing he isn't allowed to do is touch the disc themselves. he loves listening to music no matter what its on right now, although as he gets older i'm sure he will respect a nicer sounding system. He is very good at not messing with my speakers, and when we have friends over with kids much older than him (6-10yr olds) he tells them to stay away from daddy's speakers.3 points

Im about 40 now and when I was 12 I will never forget my buddys mom bought him brand new jbl speakers from best buy...man was it killer. He had an older 70's high current receiver and them jbls blew pretty fast...It took us all a short amount of time to find used pa systems laying around that would rock the whole town. Music is life. Speakers make music. Klipsch make like easy3 points

this was of course this morning when i loaded the subwoofer to be taken to its new owner, plissken. AND OF COURSE LIKE FATHER LIKE SON.......3 points

Sincere congrats to you and Steven. I still remember our first "run in" when you censored my photos of the kid that was running with a fork, tripped, and it punctured his nose! At the time, you said the pictures reminded you too much of your own son, who I hope is still fork free... Chris3 points

Hi everyone! I admit it. I've missed my kids subjects cats-to-herd friends. I hope all is well -- I haven't been looking at the forums much lately. So busy! Being involved in a start up company is a crazy experience. There's so many little things to address that never would occur to me, so many twists and turns along the way...so revealing of the people involved. A character building exercise in the real world, I think. But so rewarding. I do miss my Klipsch cohorts (talking to you, Chex), and of course the excellent products and customers. There isn't a place like it on earth For those of you who said you'd keep in touch and haven't, shame on you! For those of you who I haven't gotten back to, shame on me! I haven't deleted any emails, I promise! Hope you all have a great labor day weekend. Steven is turning 10 on Sunday...if you can believe that. So spill. Tell me how you're doing.2 points

i found i preferred them with an amp over not having an amp. i run mine off a lower power avr but when you crank it you can tell it runs out of gas. when i had an amp they just kept on singing up to reference levels. and welcome!!2 points

just like on big daddy, i let my son Atticus pick out what he wants to wear. and lately it has been rain boots (98 degrees and sunny out) lol2 points

also decided since i had some spare fabric that i would redo the door to my rack with the same fabric so it all matches.2 points

Great topic! I am totally passing on the legacy. Both of my children now have Klipsch 5.1 systems in their homes and they both do appreciate good sound. Son 23, daughter 21. My first Klipsch system was Quintet II 5.1 system. When my son moved out those speakers got setup at his place. Recently we got him upgraded to KG 5.1 system (awesome KG 5.5s). Then the Quintet IIs went to my daughters place after she got married just a couple of months ago. LOL - she came to me shortly after they moved into their place and was complaining about the crappy sound coming from their TV. Klipsch to the rescue! So far, I have been good at buying klipsch speakers and not very good at letting them go.2 points

I have 2 teenage daughters that appreciate good sounds, but they don't pursue it much. They listen to their iPhone mostly. They do like their guitars though.2 points

I could insert my fat lady joke here but i'd get my first warning points.2 points

Now were talking about some serious research before buying, grill, smoker, both ? If I were you I would go for a smoker, think about it like this, smoking takes a long time, while your waiting you can kill some time like this2 points

I think the answer here is that none of us know how many speakers we have. We have to stop and think about it and then, after we have the answer (which takes a bit of effort to figure out), all of the sudden, we remember a few more pairs hidden somewhere... We all need help!2 points

You going to Portland this month? You be about to miss out for this month. Maybe just a little coffee while it's cool. Couldn't get to sleep at all last night. I'm sure it hit me later and I'll be sleeping in the day. AGAIN My speaker buying is now dialed into one more set of EAW stacks this year, to be stored for the new house. I have one year and three months to procure our retirement abode, the search has already started. Nevada outback. Now that iv tuned in the Active system enough to pizz off neighbors, im satisfied, and can now move on to the little things in life like "Grills". When the wife and i come up that way we will be going to Bandon, to party.2 points

Are you liking your reference deal, and do you still think the RF-3's are an upgrade over the VF-35's? Yes. I am very happy with them. The center channel and surrounds are a more noticable upgrade than the RF-3's, but the RF-3's are still a step up. Overall, I think the RF-3's provide more definition and clarity than the VF-35's. I am also noticing a fuller front sound stage with the reference and the surrounds stand out more than they did before (in a good way). I enjoyed the VF-35's for almost 5 years, but I recently upgraded my receiver and really wanted to get into the reference line. I think this was a great first step to that end. Derrick is right, there is just something about the reference line. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. Thanks for all the input, guys!1 point

I know you hear it. They do grow so fast. Its awesome to see time done well. Time with our kids is the finest choice possible. Kids are just the best. Regardless how we look at it they are the better and more improved us. Or at least that's my theory. Great topic. If I could figure it out id post a video of my kid in a play. She is hilarious. She was recently the restaraunt owner in footloose semi locally and had the crowd laughing histerically. Every day its something else or something new with kids.1 point

Unacceptable, this means I have to spend the weekend with my family. My wife might make me clean, great. You do have this to look forward to.... Cornhuskers vs Florida Atlantic (at home)1 point

What is the drawback to using RS-25's for front high speakers instead of rear surround?1 point

SOLD! Nice young audio nut came and got them today. He tried to talk me down from my CL price of $1,200. I told him to join the Klipsch Forum and I would do $1,000. He did, and I did. Hopefully he will post a pic or two of his "new" speakers. BTW he has a tube amp to pair with them so he should be happy with the sound.1 point

Glad you weren't touching it at that moment, or that it didn't start a fire. As bad as it sounds I think your were lucky !1 point

You are the man Derrick! It was a new $40 HDMI cable. Swapped it out for one of my old wires and everything is perfect! Thanks again my friend!1 point

I am thinking of using rb-51's for rear surround.1 point

Replace all the small electrolytics caps. This goes for the HK430/730 as well. The coupling caps leak some DC onto the volume control when first powered up.1 point

Ole Miss and Bosie State on ESPN tonight. I am a Big Ten fan but, this one should be fun. Bosie State is always the small diamond in the rough and underated.1 point

Today I got 2 of the furniture dollies d like others seem to be doing. Then I got 4 locking wheels so I can lock the dollies with 2 lockers on the side of the dollie, so they don't roll when I don't want them too. So I'm looking and realized if I bought 4 more of the locking wheels I would have 4 dollies by using scrap wood around my shop. So I got 4 dollies that lock when I want for less then the price of 3 dollies.1 point

Kenny Hill looks like Johnny Football reincarnated! So far he is owning that SC defense! 17-7 right now with A&M on top.1 point

Agreed... However, I see the Cowboy' staying the same this year and the Texans making progress. It's not hard to make progress when you've lost the last 14 games in a row. They made progress when they sent Schaub to the raiders.1 point

alright casanova … give us your cheesiest pick up line (that worked). Well the one that didn't work was "You don't sweat much for a fat girl" Or, "hey want to help get some of the rust off my sheets " ? Oh my, that IS good. Had a lady tell me once. You'd of got some if you would have just kept trying Told her she was a big girl and should know if she wanted to or not. I was not going to beg. After that I only had to mention it to her once. She know I would not ask again.1 point

Chad(and Daryl), That is great news. Keep us informed and let's hope you will be jamming to some rocking tunes by Friday. Bill1 point

holy crap. I just tried a different power cord and it powered up. That is a first for me. I'm a little in shock. So I'll just say for now...thanks! Let's hope that was the only issue.1 point

The seller may be wanting to conduct the entire process including the demo over text. Maybe he can text the speakers. Playing hard to get belles. Not a hoot.1 point

The serial should be stamped on the back, since they aren't readable from the labels. However, they are c.1977 (like my Belle), since they have the laser tags that were only used for a few years. Good luck. Keep us posted and upload some photos if you score them.1 point
