  3. LOL! This whole thread is fabulous! I added the Craigslist link (wvu80) "I have added your photos." (Youthman) "Looks like you have a two pairs of F-3 tower speakers, a C-3 center speaker, and a Sub12 subwoofer." (willand added the ID of the equipment) All we need now is Schu, to tell him it's overpriced...

  5. It was a pleasure meeting everyone, and listening to the gear and music. Special thanks to our Host and his family for having us and rolling out the red carpet. If not for the economy of living area in my home design, I would gladly host one of these. Perhaps speakers in the windows, burgers on the grill, kegs in the yard, co-eds dancing on the tables and cars and lots of police...... the good old days......... In Naperville, business is so slow, we would probably get the SWAT team......wonder what the boys party to..... Seth, again thanks to you and your very nice family.

  11. Cool here. Met two old geezer's for breakfast. Lady friend is playing tennis and Critter is outside sleeping. He likes this cooler weather. Looking out through dirty windows reminds me of another chore. Anyone have tips for cleaning windows? Never been able to get them really clean. Have tried squeegee and newspaper for drying. Cheers Gents

  12. You beat me to it Jerol … Go Giants! This was a good opportunity to let The Freak come out of the bullpen to get his confidence back. I was a big Scutaro fan; but, Panik is pretty good too; and Pence owns The City now. The way Bumgarner is pitching, man if Matt Cain was healthy and in the rotation -- wow! Go Giants.

  14. Beeker It was my pleasure I enjoyed it as well. One of my favorite things was in between songs when a large rumble came from the other room and Katie was in there Rockin the movie Battleship pretty good. She can definitely hang with anyone! Mark is a fun guy who enjoys his audio and gear as much as anyone I've met. Your theater room was perfect. After the aletheia cw's, ampsandsound se15, table tuba, claude baby cw's and all the great people etc...to top it off with a visit to your stacks as well as theater and the rest of your gear wow is all I can say...what a pleasure! Through the weekend talking to everybody was really amazing. Derrick's first heritage listening was substantial to me to see and hear his thoughts. Derrick also helped me understand subwoofers in the home in a whole new way. Im so use to excessive bass. I have figured out I will have to keep my current 18" subs. Once I get moved next year putting together a third listening room I can see a table tuba or a Jason str bass unit for sure. Used with a heresy boosted up something like Jimjimbos Claude baby cw's. At this point in time I cannot imagine anything else. The ampsandsound se15 would be nice as well although I have to take this 1 step at a time...Those stacks at Gnotes are by far the most effortless sound I have ever heard in my entire life...Maybe a bit large, maybe not...them are amazing period. I have to say the demo of those stacks are an unforgettable time in my life....almost like hearing your kid talk for the first time lol only they are his kids lol That Saturday was an absolute hoot. What a great group of people. I had arguments and/or disagreements that resulted in learning as well as just lots of great music and conversation...I think Lemonstrings aletheia cornwalls really set the tone from the start. I was also taught quite a bit about digital playback that is worth so much. Next gathering if Gnote would allow a visit to the stacks and or theater that would be really interesting to hear a few more go to demo tracks...I just cannot get enough of them stacks lol very impressive. Lemonstring must be really good with his neighbors...It sounded just as good outside in a very nice large house neighborhood where you would imagine most go to bed by 8pm lol yet again maybe that's why he invited all the neighbors...wine and dine them all and the loud music wont matter....it was an absolute great gathering. I may sit and write for a few hours on reply to how everything sounded sometime....everything really sounded great regardless. It was so nice for everybody to share gear at lemonstrings! I prefer an audio gathering like that over a trip around the world...unless there is a bunch of klipsch gear at strategic stops while going around the world lol

  20. Good afternoon all! First time poster here but been here for a year reading. In December of last year I decided to upgrade my system with some RF82ii, RC-62ii and I had some Polk towers lying around for rears. All I can say is that was quite a sweet sounding system. Like you all though, I had the regret of not buying what I really wanted and couldn't afford to at the time due to Christmas and all. Last week my wife let me upgrade to the RF7ii and RC64ii and I was sooooo pumped that I FINALLY get to have what I wanted! Should be here on Monday. My plan is to move the 82's to act as rears. My question is to anyone who is running 82's as surrounds, how does it sound? Should I get the RS-62's instead? My system: Yamaha Aventage 1030 (pre) Outlaw 7500 (200w x 5) SVS PC-13 Ultra Klipsch RF7ii x 2 Klipsch RC64ii Klipsch RF82ii x 2 APC H15 power conditioner.

  21. I feel for you Brother … When i was growing up and still at the orphanage, whenever i’d get in trouble, they’d make me sit in a corner and make cables. And if the ends came off they'd beat you with the bare cable. Been there, done that.

  22. BF Goodrich all terrain's are extremely popular for these trucks. I have an 04 F-150 and have a set. They are a good all around tire. Anything more aggressive and it would be a noisy mud tire, anything less would be a slick street tire. I think it's a good compromise. They're pricey though, ain't no getting them for $150 a tire, more like over twice that. I have the BFG mud terrain's on my jeep and like them better but they are pretty noisy and have more vibrations. AT's are very smooth and look good. I've heard of guys getting 80,000 miles on them if you rotate them often and keep an eye on the tire pressure.

  25. The dinosaurs appear to have been much better equipped than we are. I am reading a book by Carl Sagan right now that happens to have the info. The dinosaurs made it 180 million years and an asteroid took them out. We are at about 1 million years. Our chances are slim in surpassing them, but we might be reduced to a fraction of our population (for a good amount of time there were about 20,000 humans on the earth), the earth heal, repopulate, and go through the cycle many times. I am very skeptical and cynical and still do not believe that this outbreak is intentional. The government promotes business and the interest of the powerful in making more money and getting more power (and does not care who gets hurt in the process). A pandemic will kill consumers and taxpayers. No real money in it, and, although it wil be the least of our worries, our economy will be destroyed in the process.

  26. I am listening to the Chorus right now in my living room. It is coupled with a McIntosh MA 5100 integrated amplifier, an HH Scott 312 D FM tuner, a Marantz PMD 501 cassette machine and my Technics SP 25 motor with an Audio-Technica ATP 16-T tonearm and Stanton 680 EL cartridge mounted in a custom plinth. The speakers have the Crites titanium tweeter diaphragms installed. Very nice sounding system with all music.

  31. As much as I hate to encourage You They were very impressive !! They were playing with Jims ampandsound and Jasons Table Tuba and I was thinking that's alot of quality sound from such a small attractive package. I actually had to walk up and make sure it wasn't the Cornwall's playing and those are some really sweet Cornwall's. Well, it's the ultimate compliment from a guy with the biggest horns Klipsch ever made! There is no doubt the baby cw design is mighty impressive. Iv owned many heresy. My preferred out of what iv kept is the tangent 5000's then kp2502C2's which are the newest version of a pro heresy. Iv tried numerous drivers and now using crites although I will be switching them back to the k42's...may have to have you do some work on a pair for a new listening room next year. The baby cw's are I would put it the most robust yet exquisite over all in a heresy sized cab. Im kinda rubbing pennies together at the moment but tried to buy that Yamaha receiver Mark brought....I really wanted to buy everything I heard this past weekend... I absolutely cannot believe you sold them stacks! I understand you needed room and like to mod and try new things although MCM's are top choice of speakers in my opinion over anything...May not be made for a home although they sure did sound good in a home...

  32. Hey Everybody, I’m sure I’m not alone in having way way too much equipment. The Waves were built to flip. I thought @ $240 they were a good buy but to make them perform well enough for me to sell with my name attached required bench testing/rewring, new coupling caps installed correctly, and some added iron. The 8-10 watts really provides a great deal of headroom for those that consider SE amps impractical. Using the absolute sound descriptions for sound quality Id place the Wave closer to the sounds fun (musical sounding) than accurate or overly bloomed in the mid range… its sort of an all a rounder in the same way a W5/ or Magnavox tube amp is… Similar to the 6v6 sound… maybe I’m just describing the pentode sound. I’m awash in amps... I have my Dynaco MKIIIs, my personal headphone amp, and my new mono blocks all as spares not to mention my some others and amps built for customers :-). My 2yo has adopted the guest room as hers’ and so I’m losing the bonus room storage. Its a curious thing how life realigns around new properties.

  34. Vintage Peyton. What a performance. Most teams want the quarterback to be the "face of franchise." Peyton is the Face of the NFL. I loved the vignette of Peyton with Slingin' Sammy Baugh. Peyton was humble with this Hall of Famer and elevated Baugh above himself by pointing out that NO quarterback will ever break Sammy's record, where in the 1943 season he lead the league in passing, INTERCEPTIONS (he was a two-way player at linebacker) and punting! These two players are men we can all root for. +++ The Hall of Fame rep was already in the stadium to take the record setting ball to the HOF. Did you see the video of the players playing keep-a-way from Peyton with the ball? He would try to get the ball and his team mates kept throwing it around while Peyton chased it, just like like when I was a kid. Classic! Edit: The keep-a-way was planned by Peyton, and they even practiced it! It's still cool . http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/11733000/denver-broncos-game-keep-away-peyton-manning-was-planned-ahead-record-setting-td-pass

  37. I finally heard some Heritage speakers. I was truly impressed with the Corwalls and Heresey. Seth's tub amp sounded great as well as Mark's Yamaha. Jim's Ampsound is beautiful and so smooth. We had some great food, drinks and conversation. Man, everyone was conversing right from the start before we got into Seth's house, lol.. We had vinyl, cd's, and digital music with some youtube videos to throw in. All the media sounded great. It sure was fun sampling others equipment. Duder, join RTM for you next gtg, some of us will be drinking and jamming with you!

  40. Ah Sunday morning. Zip planned, still playin around with my big dish, after 20+ years of storage and getting kicked around in storage, many interesting problems arise. Bad receiver, bent brackets, even found the RG6 Coax was crap after all this time. Looks like Tarheel is doing well, excellant.

  41. Thank's to Seth and family for allowing us into his home first and foremost, the party was a success and it seemed like a great time was had by all. It was a pleasure to put faces with forum names and listening to all the different gear was a great experience. Hope we can do this again soon. By the way I'm the handsome guy 4th from the left in the blue shirt & grey hoodie.

  45. For those wondering what "new subs" we have in the pipeline that we've yet to announce, what I can say is this: Klipsch has no current plans to release a sub that is better than the R-115SW at this time. We feel extremely confident that this is a great subwoofer, and it was even built with RF-7 systems in mind. It's that good, especially at the price point it's at. It really opens up the door for economically adding a dual-subwoofer setup that doesn't sacrifice on quality, in any regard. These are seriously bad-*** subs.

  46. If it doesn't have to be klipsch, find a pair of Dynaco A25's. One of my most favorite musical pair of speakers I own. Actually own 2 pairs of them. I've sold off many others but kept these.
