38 outside here and going to be mid 20's tomorrow. It's GREAT to have heat back and working in the house. Stupid printed circuit board. We've had the furnace 22 years and have put 4 boards in it. I figure I'll use this board a couple years and replace the whole thing.4 points

Hey guys....what a Monday.....I couldn't get to sleep til about four this morning. My wife left the house at 6:45 to take her dad to the eye clinic. The next thing I know my eldest daughter busts in my room saying "mommys on the the phone and the van broke down" Well up out of bed I get. The only other car at the house is my CRV. So out in the nice cold rain I'm unhooking my trailer off the truck. Before my wife left the house she made a nice pot of Dunkin Donuts coffee. My daughter gave me a cup for the road. A few miles down the road I spot my van........ my wife, mom and dad sit inside. We load up everyone in the CRV and now I sit here at the eye clinic. At the eye clinic I notice it's free wifi.....so here I sit telling you guys my great Monday morning. My wife did bring a thermos of coffee with her.....that's good. I'm sure my tow guy will have my van at the shop by the time we get there. I'll check in later......today will be a short day :-) .........Mark.......4 points

You have me by 2 cords, we need another one soon. We use about 2 a year if is a bad winter, we use it in a heater not a fireplace and it's very efficient which is a good thing it's our only heat. ONE big thing is we don't live in Maryland, quite a difference in winters. What do you do with all your leaves ? sorry dtel I was going through some posts and saw your question. There is a big wooded lot next to my shop, I will shoot those leaves into the woods. My landlord that own the shop also own the wooded lot.....talking about what we get our wives......I got her a Stihl commercial back-pack blower a few years ago. She loves it......I tell ya we are going to kick-a$$ this year on the leaves...4 points

These dogs really need, or care for there owners more than you might think, this story is out of Texas. The dogs owner was in the ambulance and he wanted to go, he rode here (pic) for 15 miles until another car seen him and they let him inside the ambulance. https://gma.yahoo.com/dog-hitches-ambulance-driving-owner-hospital-181826452--abc-news-pets.html3 points

Mornin' guys and thanks for the nice comments about our new Springer/family addition. He's great !! We think he's about 4, and he loves to play. Very verbal, too. He brought us his new tug toy this morning and "talked" to us about playing. His name is "Baxter" and responds well to it. He must have had a name in a former life, but the rescue folks didn't know what is was. No matter. He's a happy boy and we are delighted!! Wishing you all the best day today. Chuck.3 points

We woke up to a light dusting of snow this morning, with temps in the 20's. This is not the norm in my area.....3 points

Look at the bright side you don't have to pay a mechanic and you know it will get fixed right. Was the wife mad, hope not. no wife was not mad at all, happy to see me.The van was at the shop waiting for me......looks like a cam angle sensor failing......$58 bucks, Honda is bringing one out tomorrow. Tomorrow is a new day :-)2 points

Critical listening it stays on stereo. If I'm around the house or cleaning I like all channel or multichannel as denon calls it.2 points

Perhaps we could discuss this elsewhere and let the OP continue with his sale. This is in the Garage Sale section of the forum2 points

cornwalls to me shouldn't be surrounds. move you some heresy in there and put the cornwalls wherever the heresy are coming from?2 points

Besides this, are you able to raise the center channel up a little higher to match the tweeters on the mains or your ear level? I would also toe the speakers in once they are moved to the corners of the room to see how they will sound. If you use concrete anchors you should have no issues hanging the surrounds.2 points

Probably not as much as the source, the speakers or the room but they certainly are an important link.1 point

I would be hesitant to run an extension cord through your wall. We added an outlet in my attic but I really need to add a UPS Backup up there, just haven't made it a priority.1 point

I use All Channel Stereo or full mono in the shop so as I move around I can hear everything well. Mine is an Integra (by Onkyo).1 point

+1 At 46 years old if I wanted to keep this amplifier going and sounding it's best I would replace all the electrolytic caps. miketn1 point

This has been a good discussion with Matt's ears being the primary testing instrument, and of course he put in the LARGE amount of time it takes to evaluate the variables. The issues are the well known "harshness" associated with the RF-7, and the equally well known harshness the Onk products are thought to have when used with Klipsch products, and of course I am generalizing here. Matt of course trusted his ears and made his choices. From a theoretical point of view, I would like to have known what Matt would have concluded if the resistor mod had been done to his RF-7's, and paired up with his Onk. Now we will never know.1 point

You can have floorstanders and not use the others in that room. Not a problem.1 point

There is no such thing as three of everything when it comes to tools since one has been taken by your wife and misplaced, you have misplaced one, and that leaves the sole survivor (if you are lucky). Only the order of rotation changes, never the number available.1 point

Moving the left speaker to the left of the door, and moving the tv further left would work. Since there is a doorway, you will need to go over it with the speaker wire. As for the rear speakers... Is that brick? Are you OK with mounting to it, and seeing a speaker wire come up from the floor? You can hide the wire with modern art, or a wall curtain or something. To me, it seems like putting the surrounds on the side walls above the windows and a couple feet in from the back would work OK. Putting them on the back wall a couple feet in from the corners would work too. The sub is trial and error as you already indicated. I would start with beside the sofa in the corner under that ledge. I would also try right beside the center speaker. The roof of that room is shaped in such a way that positioning will be challenging.1 point
