  2. It's hard to believe it's been 25 years since Stevie Ray Vaughan’s very untimely departure. He was a phenomenal guitarist. Thank you Stevie Ray Vaughan for sharing your talent and music! You are missed big time! Please share your SRV music plays today & throughout the weekend, in the Right This Minute thread (RTM) at the bottom of the main forum page. 5. Put the top down and drove the grandson to school this morning. Nice 75 now but I know it will be HOT when I leave work at 5. No real surprise there; it's Texas in summer. Time to grab a cup and go through the morning emails.

  6. Well...it's a "Hers, Mine and Ours" scenario......Susan and I grew up together (known her since Kindergarten) and dated in Jr. High. Both moved back to our hometown after both getting divorced about 6 years ago....met back up and here we are. She had two I had two and now we have six. Wouldn't trade it for the world.

  12. Baxter sends a sympathetic woof to Jake. All we can do with these rescues is to roll with it and get them what they need. Bax is most likely between 3 and 5 yrs so no real problems yet, but (like you), we'll be willing to do what's needed for him as time goes on.

  15. Good job on the repair Jason. If I did something like that I would have several parts leftover Jake is more frisky and I have Traumeel and Glucosamine on the way. I'll have him running like a puppy. Down about three pounds on the week. Not hungry at all. The low carb diet stabilizes blood sugars so you rarely feel hungry. Well school has started back I see. I know Joe, MKP, and duder have kids.....who else? Wow Jason....6 kids from 20 to 18 months. Gary...sorry about the neighbor. Some folks..... Putting together a party for my Wednesday night dinner buds. Told them I would buy 30 pounds of shrimp if we could have it at their house at the beach. Closing in on the week end worker bees Cheers Ladies and Gents

  21. Have you tried the Traumeel I recommended previously? Glucosamine takes a while to build up and be effective (most say several weeks). The Traumeel will work like an ibuprofen only is safe for dogs. Yes I did order two batches and ran out a week or so ago. May have to reorder. Thanks Carl!

  22. Took him for a walk Sunday....less than a mile. He laid down several times and panted a lot. He also walked differently. I had cold water with me so that wasn't the problem. I suspect hip problems/pain. As I mentioned I ordered Glucosamine yesterday. Thanks for asking. Chuck....Jake said to tell Baxter that getting old is hell!

  30. Honda update Finally pulled the CEL code and sure enough it was PO505....IAC issue. Pulled off the TB and removed the IAC....was pretty nasty...so cleaned it up, sprayed it down with grandpa's favorite lubricant (ATF and Acetone mixed 50/50) and blew some compressed air through it. cleaned up the TB, set the idle screw as instructed, cleaned the MAF and put it all back together. Day three of no surging idle and actually seemed to pick up 1-2mpg....thanks for the advice guys! Also....friend stopped by on Sunday to look at a '76 Vette that I'm cleaning up to sell for a friend......loves the Honda and inquired if I'd be willing to sell/trade for his wifes car that they were considering giving their son when he turns 16 in a few months. Asked why they didn't want to give that car to their son...."It'll get him in too much trouble....he needs something slow.." They are the original owners of a 2004 Volvo S60-R AWD....has a little over 120K but has had all the major repairs done about 10K miles ago (timing belt, head gasket, valve job, new turbo, etc....) Said if I was interested they'd come up with a fair price and we'd talk.....might be up for that!

  31. After looking a long time I finally scored on a local set of KP-201ii's. I don't much about these other than they are a Heresy 2 in battle dress as Colter likes to say LOL. I got them in the man cave for the time being sitting on top of my tapped horns I built. Its late so I can't crank them but I will tomorrow! So far like every klipsch speaker I have owned I like em! Here are couple pics since not posting pics of a new purchase is a absolute no no! https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3yub8MsksaQNWV5T09mb2RUb28/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3yub8MsksaQcXRpTWNMamljcUE/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3yub8MsksaQUTgtM081QlV2ZU0/view?usp=sharing

  35. Impressions? After a few months with mine... Some folks on other forums are under the notion that the iControl app "unlocks" the full potential of MCACC Pro.....which is . There's only three features completely unaccessible without the app and tablet/phone combo which are: -Emphasis -Finger EQ -Balance (Pioneer's fancy 2D type) Some people can't seem to live without those three (especially when there's a connection problem that renders the app inop), but in practice, they're completely dispensable. They don't really add to the receiver's technical capability. Everything else (even the traditional stuff) is still accessible either through the MCACC or Audio Parameter menus via the remote control or unit's face plate. For example, adjusting the X-curve feature is much faster through the controller app, but can also be accomplished via the remote if need be. Adjusting the sub trim level is OK, but slower than compared to my old Panasonic which had a "hot-key" for just that on the remote. Wish the trim menu would start at the sub first. Instead, gotta cycle through all the channels in order to get to the subwoofer at each power-up, which is last naturally. Could mess up something there, if say...drunk. GF certainly doesn't appreciate skimming through all the menus, can't say I blame her. The sound is excellent, superb really. "Deeep!" comes to mind. MCACC Pro will transform your speakers. The D3 amps with my rig are essentially bottomless. An honest 100 watts across the front three is simply no joke. They're not Equibit or DDFA, but those don't couple with advanced DSP like MCACC Pro either. I expected that. I'll never exceed 5.2 channels for HT and likewise 3D is also not a priority. So I'm biased in not giving a flip in either of those two regards. I'm the type more interested in using extra channels for bi-amping or multi-zone capability than anything else....hence 9 channels is more than plenty. For the price tag, HDMI switching is on the pokey side. Could be a deal-breaker for some folks. I don't mind so much as I've got only one HDMI source (the OPPO) and have considered bypassing the Pioneer for video entirely, as I once did with older receivers. There'll definitely be times where you're staring at a blank screen, listening to audio, and looking at your watch waiting for the handshake to complete. I could do without the bright blue panel lights....in particular the "HDMI" indicator. Not quite as piercing as the power light on my subwoofer amp, thank god, but the entire market could stand to take a hint from OPPO in that regard. Subtle would be nicer, as the strong blue lights pretty much defeat the purpose of the amber display and dimming feature. Oh well, guess that's what tape is for. The unit is equipped with a fan. It's not mentioned in any of the literature or reviews. It's audible sometimes on the really quite stuff. Just a heads up. There's a lot underneath the hood of one of these. It's not just a simple stereo. There's graphic cards, a computer, network controller, a large amp, etc... and it all has to work 100% in order be useful as a single unit. I'd strongly consider power protection commensurate with the unit's price tag. All in all, I've been very satisfied. Highly recommended.

  36. Love 'em...wouldn't switch them out for anything. Everyone loves the gear they own, so take it with a grain of salt, but I've been really impressed. I've heard nearly all the reference surrounds, and almost pulled the trigger on some RS-62s before I finally found these...I'd say they're one of the better surrounds that Klipsch has made. They are very hard to find...but, if you're patient they do come up here and there. The nice thing is, since they're almost 20 years old now, they can be had fairly reasonably. If you're ever up this way, you're welcome to stop in and listen for yourself. I make the same offer kapsnb01. I am in central MN. If anyone wants to hear the New Reference Premeir series, stop on by. We can private message address and maybe you will like how they sound.

  39. Oh, this is a good one..... Joined the forum....KG 5.5's, Def Tech sub, KV-3, Denon receiver Met Colter...Cornwalls, LSI's, Heresy's, multiple pairs of each.... Now....LSI's, multiple pairs of refurbed La Scala's, multiple pairs of Cornwalls, multiple pairs of Heresy's, HIP's (coming this weekend), Belle's, Marantz and Pioneer monster receivers, HH Scott tube amps and preamps, other tube amps, 2 vintage turntables, HK-730 receivers, Velodyne sub, Electro Voice Aristocrat, Curtis Mathis tube console, hundreds of tubes (most of which I can't use....) So, obviously, Colter is to blame....

  41. Alright, Keith, I'll throw a bit of grudging support. Gulf Shores is beautiful, but a bit high end and touristy. We have stayed a couple of times at the Gulf Breeze on nearby Dauphin Island and found it both with a marvelous and not too crowded beach and at prices that were much lower than other nearby areas. Don't recall, but in the sub hundred per night range. Favorite price/performance in Florida is Mexico Beach west of Apalachicola. Wonderful little totally off the Interstate town with a great vintage motel on a marvelous and under used beach. OTOH, no Fossati's or Kemp's Ridley turtles... Dave

  42. According to this post from 2003, the CF-4 XO is 1500. I have seen other articles which suggest 1400. http://www.audioasylum.com/reviews/Speakers/Klipsch/CF-4-EPIC-SERIES/HUG/48564.html A review from 2008 indicates the CF-3 is crossed over at 1000. Further down in the thread Mr. djk says it is crossed at 1600. The 1600 number sounds more correct to me, and is backed up by other articles I've read. http://www.audioasylum.com/audio/speakers/messages/26/264992.html

  44. I have an SC-85 sitting in the box. I have 2 weeks to return it and I just might. The more I read, the more I think I might need the new HDMI 2.0 as I will be buying a 4K TV within the year. The replacement might be a SC-91 but I am hoping the newer, higher end Elite models will be released soon. My "old" Yamaha Aventage might have to do until the DTS-X/HDCP 2.2 models become more prevalent.
