  1. Cables, Coffee and Cocktails, so lets get back on point. I've had a few cocktails, trying to get my workout's in for hope and most of you should focus and do the same. I'm not going to deal with all the excuses in Hope. 1. "I meant to drink more in preparation for Hope, but I forgot. Booooo Hooooo, Grow up, this isn't a kids event. 2. "I didn't know there would be alcohol. BooooooooooooooooHooooooooooooooooo again, you should read more. 3. My wife is coming and I.....................................................BoooooooooooooooooooooHoooooooooooooooooooooo, grow a set of balls (and Alice is telling you this too) I'm not allowed to act like me and be free and who I am when I'm at Hope. Boooooooooooooooooooooooo Fuc#ing Hoooooooooooooooooooooooo. (I think that Roger has taken over my soul and I can't be held accountable for what I'm typing) BTW, all you Pansy's that don't have Klipsch Pro Audio Stacks, Suck the big one.) I really can't wait to meet you Roger, I know that I won't be the only one with a spotlight shining on me and I'm telling the Police, that you did it and I am just in town for the Church Meeting! 4. I didn't know it was this weekend. Have another cocktail, you're in training!

  5. Evening gang... Well the HT thing....ahhhhh don't really have a HT set-up.... well it's kinda a work in progress. Right now I guess you would call it a 3.1 set-up... So far I have Forte's for the L/R and the KLF-C7 I got a few months back for the center and some old Yamaha receiver. I also have issues when I hook up any sub... Got a real bad hum.. but only when I try to have a sub while watching a movie. So I guess I have a 3.0 system All my gear is set up for two channel..... The BOSS is always on me.... she says "with all these amps and speakers you can't do any better than this" I try to tell her that our system is for two channel stereo.... and all that gear is for a "sound stage"..... she just looks at me....lol lol........ once I pick up on some rear speakers I start to think about a nice HT receiver.... I've had some stuff in my head for some time now.... hell there's always stuff in my head... Well anyway The Martian was really good... for sure... Today I got a call from my audio repair guy, I've had two CD players in the shop for about 6 weeks now and today I got some bad new about my Sony ES-801... can't find parts... They called about 3 weeks ago and told me what's up with the unit and how much to fix.......at that time they told be parts are on back order and it'll be a few weeks. Well the main supplier is out of this drive motor and there are no more... I told my man that I have another unit at the house and another ES unit, I asked him if I brought those into the shop could they rob the parts out of them? He's like sure bring em in... Hopefully they have working parts.. If they don't this is going to kill me... I love this old Sony unit it's the one that has the full aluminum platter... it weighs close to 18 lbs... it's got the Rose Wood side panels... still got the box and all the packing.. I got it new some 23 years ago... and it cost me a bundle back then... man I hope it can be fixed.... That unit and my Adcoms and LaScala's were my fist "real" stereo... Now I did get good news about my Pioneer Elite CD changer. That's fixed... That's also a very nice unit.... but I would rather have my Sony working.... on well it is what it is.. OK gang.... gonna put on another movie.... gonna watch Creed on the bad a$$ 3.0 system lol lol Check-in later... MKP :-)

  9. Please say that's an April fools joke I have trained plenty enough over the summer hanging out in AR 7 weeks just over the summer, I may have over trained at times. If that wasn't enough Rodney's group came down here and we all got on a ship for a week after practicing in the bar outside for a couple days first and afterward , I may be at pro level now. Yes Rodney on a ship, and yes he wore overalls everyday, even in the Caribbean on a beach, and Leon wore the hat everywhere ! You can take them out of AR but you can't take the AR out of them. Now Elden, You know darn well you can't get up to THAT level of drinking with just a little practice now! them boys have been practicing for a life time! Rog

  11. Good luck on getting your other player repaired Mark, it's nice having someone you trust to take care of that stuff. I think The Martian would be a great movie even on a drive in speaker. I really liked that movie.

  15. Why even consider these for a moment?? Maybe for like $500, IF they sound good, but for anywhere near what the silly person is asking? They couldn't even take the effort to move the crap hiding the speakers. Possibly indicative of numerous things, I don't think any of them good. Sheesh - You live in a populous are - won't be long till a normal pair - from a NORMAL seller will come up. My opinion, Lars Lars

  16. That's huge, someone wanted to go all out with that design, I would think those amps would put out some heat inside that cabinet.

  21. We actually watched that tonight. Sly was awesome in that movie. Probably his best acting job ever. Only seen a few parts, it was the movie that came on after the Martian on the boat, I missed the first part and hate to miss a big part of a movie and start watching it, it's not the same.

  28. Finally located an Otari MX-5050 II b2 2/4 track R2R from one of my RMHC advisors today and he brought it to me from San Antonio. Heads a psychiatric clinic specializing in addiction and was going to the Caddo Indian Conference Nacogdoches this weekend as they were having a session on psychotropics used by that tribe so he just came up last night and stayed over until the AM. He had never checked it out but it was sold to him as working. Didn't get overexcited as I've been there before. Fired it up this morning and, sure enough, the reels took off at 30 or so ips. Not being my first rodeo I knew that meant the idler solenoid was either defective or sticky. Hoping for that later, I operated it several times manually and it fired, but not reliably. So I rocked it in and out of play about a 100 times and it's been fine since. At that point, I could see that the meters were running and such, but had nothing hooked up to hear it. Hauled my Audioengines down from the attic and Hooked them up. Anyway, solenoids are responding nicely, transport is free of jerks or flutter, and the sound is excellent. In fact, I got to thinking, in fact, MUCH better than most commercial prerecorded tapes. This one was a Boston Pops Columbia release. Suddenly, I realized why it was so good. Almost went teary-eyed when I realized that last time that tape sounded the ears receiving were probably Master Paul's. It was from his personal collection. I've emailed Jim Hunter I'm ready for the first batch of PWK's tapes to transfer. There are several hundred hours and most will have dry splices to replace and be very brittle as well. Serious lot of work, but I am humbled and proud to be able to do it. As we go along, Jim will determine what can be released and how it should be done. There will be some serious treasures there. If you've read about PWK's fuming about the crap source material he was stuck with you have to believe the recordings he made personally are going to be pretty stellar. Several genre involved. Aside from the jazz, I am, of course, looking forward to the triple whammy of PWK engineering John Eargle playing the classic Skinner pipe organ in Kilgore. I CANNOT wait to hear that! Then, there is the Joe Holland group, Rule Beasley, and others. Next tears will be if the recording of the Camille Saint-Saëns 3rd with E. Power Biggs he played for me when I visited him turns up. I want to thank Jim and Klipsch for entrusting myself and the RMHC with this work. It will be performed in strict adherence to International Association of Sound and Audiovisual Archives standards. I hope many of you have the opportunity to hear these at some point. Dave

  32. An incomplete version, (wrong knobs and minus a few chassis') went for auction and received $55,000. Too bad a guy can't get one for 1500 bucks now. A awesome radio...WLW was a huge, huge radio station in the mid-30s. It's only fitting that Crosley would have a receiving radio that's a monster

  37. Hey Man just caught your post... yea that glass should be a list price of 35.58 P/N 76203-SWA-A01.... I don't have your vin# so I'm not 100% sure. Call the dealer tomorrow and give en your vin and see what they got. My dealer stocks most of the glass... Also some dealers will use a "list" price and some will use a adjusted "list" price... that adjust price is sometimes 20% higher... Try this.... go online to a e-Honda store....www.hondaautomotiveparts.com This is Majestic Honda they have on of the easier sites to use. I use them when my dealer is closed.. Get the price from there and call your local dealer tomorrow they might work with ya... good luck... MKP :-)

  40. Wvu80 - For online purchases , get yourself a Paypal account. They give you a debit card for that account, but it's branded"Master card" so you can use it anywhere you use a credit card, without having to remember a PIN #.(unless you want cash back) Even though Paypal will ask you to, you do NOT have to tie it to a bank account. At least when I did it, maybe changed now. When needed, simply transfer money from your regular bank to Paypal, Just as simple as like transferring from your savings to your regular checking account. You can never lose more $ than what you have in the Paypal. Lars
