  2. Winter returned to Southeast Michigan over the weekend. Snow flurries but no accumulation. Unfortunately, the forecast for Tigers' Opening Day on Friday is football weather. High temp of possibly 38, but no precipitation predicted. The sales of $8 beers will be down; hot chocolate sales will be up.

  3. Morning gang... Ahhhhhhh yes another Monday...... All is good... Just got back from picking the grandkids up...... they just got on the bus. While I was at my moms house my daughter told me mom just fell asleep fro the the night She has been up all night.... just watching TV. She has good nights and bad nights. She said the night wasn't a bad one.... she just didn't sleep... Not much going on at the shop today... I'll do some shop cleaning.... maybe put some junk on e-bay. I did sell a Suzuki Samurai last Friday. Got some good money for it. Some guy came from the middle of WV to get it. Over four hours away and he drove it away with no tag on it .... I'm thinking about selling another one.... It's a real nice one. Some guy brought it to the shop a year or so ago. He could not get it running. It's was a fuel injected and I found it had a bad ECU. I told him to pay my labor for my diagnosis and put a ECU in it. He sad he didn't want to put any more money in it and I should buy it from him. At the time I had three samurai's and didn't need another. He kept saying "make me a offer"............. He wouldn't no for an answer, so hey I low balled him..... He took the offer..... He came to the shop that afternoon with the title... Even when he was at the shop I told him.... Why don't you pay my labor.... tow your truck out of here and you could sell it "as is" for twice the money I'm offering you.....He's like no I'll just take the offer ...... Hey I tried to save him.... Even The BOSS said "you tried" OK............. rolling out....... might come home early...... I also didn't sleep good last night...... my brain was crazy last night ...... I'm always thinking about shitt.... can't shut down some night... any of you guys suffer from that? Check-in later... MKP :-)

  4. Good morning gang........... HA, snowing here in MA. Watching the morning news, schools closed too! I thought we were DONE with this winter stuff! Flowers around the house are all snow covered AGAIN, as it snowed yesterday as well..........sigh.......... Thanks for that dTel...........Just sharing some of the finer moments from 'Music Hall' with my friends here on CC&C Vegas show news: We had our season opening show Saturday evening, a dinner/show performance actually at a well known country club in our area. It was their opening day too! The MOVIE producer came to our town this weekend to see the show, and have a meeting with us during our dinner before the performance. It was very interesting listening to this man. He said we are going to be under the watchful eye of Neil Diamond's management who will be in the audience........great, MORE pressure .. There was talk of the show running for 2 years! Well, I will keep you all informed as it goes. Today's snow could cancel tonight's rehearsal, as there was an email from our front man/band owner early this morning that the snow could get heavy through the day.. We NEED every rehearsal we can get before our trip to the 'desert' All for now.... Enjoy your Monday... ............Gary

  11. Tried that the other day, we were all sitting around out by the bar and my wife had bought some beer and was rotating them in the freezer, it was a little warm so i continued drinking them since they tasted so good, later a headache for hours. That was it for me no more beer, until next time probably, but I feel fine after Tequila shots all night, or Honey Whiskey, or just about anything except beer. Many times at Rodney's the wife and I would drink Tequila shots all evening and night (large bottle ) and I would would never feel loaded, 6-8 beers and am gone, I don't get it , beer get's me toasted for some reason ?

  12. That's very true, my brother in law and his wife just moved from around Fairbanks about 10 months ago, they were there for 20 years and just got tired of the cold. When they left AK it took them weeks to get to California, they were driving a RV , sold business, house and everything else and left. The got to the South over toward Texas last summer and the heat almost killed them, they are living here now and it's going to be interesting this summer even though he is from here, she is from Hawaii.

  17. True, and i definitely wouldn't want to, I want to keep it a sporting level, some are training for an Olympic event it seems. Aren't there prizes at Hope for this particular event? Whoever drinks the most beer and does not piss themselves wins. That's rigged! the only beer drinker there is Roy, and he drinks that nasty "Clamauto" stuff! Roger Yuck. I like home made or Zing Zang made Bloody's personally but everybody has different tastes. True different taste, I usually don't drink beer anymore, I like it but it gives me a headache every time. You need to drink more….drink right through that headache

  18. .....well, I just had to capture a few more photos.... The full cast, and the stars ;0) This has been the longest thing I have ever watched!! It was fabulous and even I got misty eye'd at the end ! It was five hours long (including two 20 minute intermissions) ... One, toasted tomato sandwich and large glass of vino later...... TEN minutes of applause and 5 curtain calls later.....

  20. Off the grid (somewhat), turned off cable and land line. I was the only one in the house watching 'live' TV so bought / replaced the kids and wife a cell phone and I watch TV from OTA antenna. Cable bill went from $206 to $54 keeping just 300 down / 20 up internet. I was paying an additional $140 for the wife's flip phone (no data), son's cell and my iPad data plan. So I went from $346 to $175 for 4 cells and I hotspot my iPad to any of our cells which allow 14 gig a month each for hot spot. Cost a bit to buy the phones outright but I like having the ability to fire the provider if they suck. Fence done, dog arrived (first vet bill today) and I am Jonesing for all the equipment I see for sale. Nice to see my son who was computer bound out running in the yard with his pup. Here we have a shot of a boy and his dog taking a nap on the patio

Anyway, it's just interesting to me how we can all chat on the computer from all around the world. Interesting note: One of the most valuable antique car tags to find is a 1924 Alaska. Just in case you have any laying around LOL. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Very-Rare-1924-Alaska-License-Plate-Collectors-/151974089078?hash=item23625c9176:g:cQcAAOSwa-dWtE~k

  22. Moved here with my parents at age 14. Came back after college, it's become home (25 years later...) I am a financial advisor, for fun I chase my 3 yo and 1 yo boys around everywhere. Thankfully they LOVE music and I am able to make use of the Klipsch hobby er.. habit with them. When we travel it's about a 3 1/2 hr flight to Seattle, then the trip starts. It IS a long way from just about every where!

  25. Happy Monday! Enjoying cup #2 this morning and it's opening day! I may or may not have the Braves game streaming in during the afternoon at work... Hope you are all well! I'm pretty jealous of all the Hope talk, one day. I think I would learn more about sound and personalities in one weekend than I could in a lifetime elsewhere. LOVE the pic of the old radio a few pages back! I also love their version of eye candy standing next to it. My great grandmother would probably raise an eyebrow if she saw my grandfather looking at that. Enjoy the week!

  29. Awesome. I shoulda known that when he was describing his "renaissance man" webmaster, he was talking about you. Nice site. As for the image load, I was only reporting what I experienced. It seemed to be the main page image, and it took a few seconds. Here is what I found out. It was mostly my fault. My wifi adapter was connected to the wrong node, and I was only getting 4.61 mbps. I connected to the correct node (5G), and now I'm at 93mbps. Now it comes up in the blink of the eye even after the cache is flushed..

  30. You're already as close as possible to Khorn sound without corner placement... It's called a LaScala. Your options... 1) Build yourself a horn loaded subwoofer to go with the LaScalas. 2) Buy a pair of Khorn's. 3) Buy a pair of Jubilees with the 402 horn on top and you'll have, according to many, better than Khorn sound. 4) Anything else would be a giant step back...

  31. Nothing that I have read makes me believe that the RF7 are any better that the KLF30. I have had the RF83. Someone on here like RF83 over the RF7II. I like my KLF 30 over the RF83. 20 or 7? Also, I got a good deal on the black KLF30, so I passed on a deal to someone else....only after scoring the Mahogany KLF30.

  32. I've never personally had the pleasure of hearing K-horns but from what I hear they are absolutely breath taking and I certainly believe it. I'll just say that when I was in the market for speakers I went to bestbuys magnolia theater to audition some speakers, they had Martin Logan, Bower and Wilkins, Difinitive Technology and others. The guy played me a pair of B&W's that went for 4k a piece and I have to say I was not that impressed, I think my Chorus's outperform them without breaking a sweat so I can't imagine what some K horns would do! I am yet to find a speaker that brings out the amount of passion in people as the Klipsch heritage line especially the K-horn and La Scala I have read reviews where people say they have literally been brought to tears by how great K horns sound! It's definitely my goal to one day own a pair of those or the La Scala's! Just a side note all the guy at bestbuy was doing was bashing Klipsch and saying their products are sub par and there technology is old and outdated! Haha I was tempted to really start in on the guy and tell him how my "30 year old speakers" were better than anything he had in the store but I decided to keep my thoughts to myself.

  33. I picked up the speakers and did a quick comparison. The 7II's are a bit smoother and tad better in the midrange. I could easily keep either speaker, the 7 or 7 II's. They are slightly different but, both have an outstanding presentation IMHO. More on this later with a fun treat about the trip to get the speakers.

  37. I just purchased the RF 7 II's made in 2010. My old RF 7's are from 03 with the original XO. I did the transitor mod on the RF 7's but, change thing back several months ago. I thought it took to much of the Hi's for my taste and wanted my original 7's back. I knew the 7 II's had the XO lowered to around 1400 compared to 2200 for the 7's. Slight toying with cabinet size and cosmetic but, nothing else is that different between the two speakers. For the comparison I used the yaquin VK 2100 integrated amp, 80 watt hybird. Tube preamp and SS rear along with my BDP, Samsung F 7500. This was their best BDP when I got a couple of years ago and I can't say anything negative about the music quality. Both speakers were ran full range. Yesterday I Immediate detected a slight difference in the midrange in the 7 II's. So, today I put them side by side for a better comparison. I selected Celine Dion due to her vocal range, Rihanna since she has a distinct vocal quality and the music is well master for clarity and bass. Soul Ballet was selected becuase some of it has big sound similar to an orchestra, nice acoustic guitar, and delicate passages. and Kevin Toney's Strut for a nice jazz recording. First up, Celine Dion, Love Me Back to Life. Both speakers did justice to this wonderful voice. Nothing was missing from either speaker that I could detect. Celine's voice had a slight edginess with the old RF 7's. Don't take this has bad in no way. It's actually a slightly more live sound similar to a concert. The 7 II's appear to have oh so slightly more separation in the midrange and a slightly smoother top end. Overall both get a 5 star mark. Now Rihanna's new album Anti. The most striking difference which is not by much is the bass. The old 7's sounded tighter and hit a bit harder. Remember, these are slight differences and nothing can be said to be a night and day difference. Soul Ballet for a 180 degree change in music style. This one has a wide dynamic Range and mostly all instruments. The 7' II's had the edge hear. Separation and the smoother presentation was the key. Both speakers were well represented and the RF 7 was not far behind. Kevin Toney's Strut, known for deep bass and a sparkling top end was the last one for this quick comparison. The 7's had the Lo's and the 7 II's had the Hi's: both by a narrow margin. One thing is clear, There is no doubt why the RF 7 and 7 II are flagships speakers. Both have a well refined sound, easy to drive and wide dynamic range. The new speaker has a slightly wider range listed in the spec's but, I could not detect any difference. Most of us can't hear up at 24 kHz. I like both speakers and unfortunately don't need to keep both. Cosmetically no difference really as far as I am concerned, I like either. There are a few more blemished on the 7 II's compared to my 7's, which are near perfect except for two missing grill pegs. You have to be looking for the blemishes and nothing stands out at a distance. I wondered how good the XO were on the old 7's, darn good! If anyone is looking to upgrade, I don't see how you could not be happy with either of these speakers!

  39. i don't doubt it, my old truck is jacked up right now with the gas tank out and the fuel pump removed. The fuel pump just stopped so I took the tank out, removed the whole pump housing out and inside it's covered in rust including the metal tubes going down to the pump. Now I need to order the whole thing not just the pump, the tank looks OK. It's an old truck, 89 Chevy 3/4 ton, it only has 43K miles and only get's used just to pull a trailer or go to the hardware store. You can buy replacement tanks pretty cheap ~$130 at LMC truck. You might need a sending unit too. Those range in price, but max about $200. Be sure to change the fuel filter if there was rust in the system. It comes with a new filter, pump sending unit, everything that's shot on mine. $130 fro Rock Auto, they had the cheapest price by almost $40. It looks like the tank is fine, not perfect but it looks like everything was attracted to the part in this pic for some reason, maby a different metal ?

  40. Which of these graphs do you think would sound better? They are a measurement of subwoofer response, going seat to seat. One has a single sub in a corner. The other has four subs, one in the middle of each wall. "Trusting your ears" is basically saying just go with graph #1 since you don't know any better and can't recognize 55+ db swings.

  43. Since some people seemed to enjoy the treehouse pics, here's the mostly finished product, just got done. Have to finish off the post caps, install a hinged trap door over the ladder area, hit several things with additional screws, and install some lag and carriage bolts. Otherwise the vast majority is done, it's just details at this point. On the bottom will be a huge sand pit. View from the top. Doesn't look like it but that furthest tree line is over 1 mile away. That first set of trees out in the field is over 1/2 mile. We are going to put some 3-D archery targets and build an R/C truck track in the open area of my yard that it overlooks, that's where my septic lines are, just wasted space that I can't do anything with anyway. Unfortunately I could not figure out how to make the balusters perfectly symmetrical so I have a couple of goofy things going on. Hopefully nobody will notice unless I point it out. Bottom story turned out better but I had to do the top differently.

  46. Just ordered one of these little guys for my kids. I'm building them a treehouse but it's like 100 yards away from the house. Was wanting to install some CP-6's but running that much wire out there seemed pretty stupid. This should work out nicely, they can just bring it out there with them then bring it back in and recharge it. http://www.klipsch.com/products/groove-portable-bluetooth-speaker
