  1. The LF's speakers arrived in tact and are in place. The Fedx driver was surprised to see me getting the same speakers at a different house. Unlike my pair we had to install the base for each one. She has a new CDP (NAD) coming tomorrow. I also ordered 12ga speaker wire in 10' lengths with banana plugs and will hook those up later today. I put on an LP (Desire by Bob Dylan) and auditioned the RP280Fs in her room. Bien! Pics to follow.

  7. My daily driver..... flew down to AZ to pick it up last May, 2016. Had a blast driving through the Gila Natl. Forest,, as soon as I hit the mountain passes I hung a left and followed the twisty ridges about 200 miles to the south. My 3 yr. mustang project. I'll have to dig through a lot of boxes and 35mm pic's to get photos of the project. There were no PC back in the day, well, there was the Tandy and Mac, but I didn't have either. Just my trusty Nikon.

  8. We always reject black paint and similarly black interiors when shopping for a car. It has always been about the heat for us, since we live in hot climates, but right there is another reason to consider.

  12. Keep both and A/B them when the x-overs come back. I think the horn depends on the room (the Chorus 90 deg horn vs the Forte II 60 deg horn). I personally would probably pick the Forte II over the chorus for the lower bass extension.

  13. I like half the suggestions on the list from your link. Maybe some Tom Petty in there too---a lot of his tunes are about life in America. Let's keep on thinking.

  16. Hey there Mike................we have to come up with a group play for this weekend ! I spoke with Pezz tonight, he suggested we stick with a 'patriotic' theme...... I have various recordings, however, I can do most anything that our friends can come up with on my Spotify account.... But, think about what we might do.... And then, put the word out... Thank you.... ..............g

  17. Oh, that makes sense, isn't that the kind of camera people would take dirty pic's with in the old days ? No developing, might want to hang on to it.

  18. " all decent capacitors sound exactly the same, right? " All food tastes the same (if you have a zinc deficiency), all women kiss the same (if you're a eunuch), VHS and Beta look the same (to Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder), and all amplifiers sound the same (to the deaf old men at Stereo Review). WHO? Tell the deaf/dumb/blind kid to go play pinball.

  23. You can always run down to your local auto parts store and pick up a spray bottle of clay lube. I clayed my car about a week ago. It does not take long and you will be amazed how much stuff is on your car. Just go over sections until the bar glides smoothly. Remember to fold the clay occasionally to keep cleaner clay on the paint.

  25. To make my wait productive I washed both cars since my last post Getting warm outside now. Don't know what to think about clay bar treatment. It scuffs if not kept plenty wet and is hard to get off. Clearly will not use it on the Bubble till I figure things out. I know Gary has some experience with clay bars. Maybe he can give me some tips.

  27. Depends, some get caught up in the advertisements, they make you think you need the latest phone, car and everything else. Trying to chase all of it can make you unhappy since it changes so often. Seems like the older you get the more you appreciate little things, I'd say I am having more fun then when I was younger . Must be strange to look back at the houses, pictures like that sometimes do not match what we remember. The three houses I lived in all my life are gone, the first two were demolished after being damaged and the last burned a couple of years after we left.

  38. I seem to recall reading somewhere in this forum Mr. Crites stating he had difficulty hearing the difference between his Chorus 1's and his Cornwalls. That is a noteworthy observation. There are always compromises, but Cornwalls are as close as a speaker comes to doing it all. I sold my Forte ii's shortly after landing my first pair of Cornwall's. The punch from the Cornwall's was missing in the Forte's. There is no replacement for displacement. Now having said that, I recently replaced the mid horn (K601) in both my Cornwall 1's AND Cornwall 2's with the mid horn (K-61) used in the Forte ii entirely because I missed the "openess", greater detail, and to some degree imaging at CLOSER listening distance that marvelous tractrix mid provides. I have since acquired a pair of walnut Forte ii's, just like yours, which I intend to have and hold, in sickness and in health... Monogamy is not a practical approach to audio and we only miss something once it's gone. You will find the money to fund your Chorus project. But finding another pair of WALNUT Forte ii's tweaked like yours will be costly AND rare. I would not consider myself an audiophile, but the performance of the Forte ii is head-spinning, in a GOOD way. Low, clean basslines, open midrange, and crisp highs in speaker almost half the size of a Cornwall. Keep the Forte ii's.

  42. For me, the question is what will i get tomorrow. USPS tried to deliver a package to me, registered. they left a note saying i could pick it up at the post office tomorrow morning. i went on their website and put in the tracking number; but, it doesn’t show the sender. it shows it arriving at ISC New York on June 15, the next line says it went to Customs. I have absolutely NO idea what this could be. I haven’t ordered anything outside of the USA. And the sender has my NEW address, which very few people have. I hate mysteries; but, i have to wait until tomorrow to find out what it is. Maybe some British Rock Star got tired of his guitar and passed one on to me? wishful thinking.
