  4. When I got here there was a hole in the slab. I had to put the bushing in the cast iron bell and come out with pvc. It's a bugger getting the pvc in the bushing. That took the longest.

  5. Have fun with the "easy part!" Everytime I plumb ANY thing I may as well start at the street! Ahhhhh NO! Not me! Yuck! Call my oldest daughter and she accomplishes the mission and comes out from under the sink or wherever laffin at me! WHICH reminds me...

  6. Morning all. Just checking in. We're just about to hit the road to Houston. Son in law needs help with a plumbing project. The lead waste pipe going to one of his commodes is cracked under the slab. I've already had him bust the concrete out so I get to do the easy part of the repair which is to replace it. I'll check in later.

  13. Shannon released a new phono pre today... the Puffin I've been working on a new phono preamp design over the last year and have used the last two months to push it towards production. Today I'm proud to announce the Parks Audio Puffin to you. The Puffin represents a radical departure from other phono preamps as it is a DSP-based phono preamp, but it still hooks up like a normal phono preamp with analog inputs and outputs. No computer or internet is necessary, and it does everything real-time. For a phono preamp gain is everything, and with the variety of cartridges on the market and many kinds of sound systems with different specs, traditional phono preamps don't provide enough flexibility in gain settings. With the Puffin, you have twenty gain settings: from -4dB (CDs) to 72dB (MCs). This is a real game changer. For best noise performance, I'd recommend 0.25mV to be the bottom limit for moving coils. The Puffin also gives you full control of the sound character, not just a matter of luck with cartridge loading. I think the Tilt functionality will be the most used feature and it works great with moving coils and CDs, too! It quickly gets the warmth/detail perfect, and you may even tweak the settings from LP to LP depending on the recording. But you're a vinyl purist, you say? Great! There are also several monaural features and filters, even a null balance. And the Puffin handles many old record EQ settings--twelve right now, but I can add more. With the Puffin you can actually listen to your 78s live with no need to record to a hard drive and apply Audacity tools. What fun is that? I have a limited number of Puffins for sale on my website immediately, with quantities available next month via Amazon, who will be the main reseller. My current Budgie and Budgie Hybrid designs have been discontinued, though I will continue to support Budgie owners 100%. For more info please check out these links: Here's a link to the updated Parks Audio website: http://parksaudiollc.com/ Here's a link to the Puffin's PDF manual: http://parksaudiollc.com/puffmanV1.pdf For updates, I'll be using the Parks Audio Facebook page. I hope to spotlight different Puffin features and methods. Warm Regards, Shannon Parks Ordered!

  14. You got some crap with you, it's no wonder she called you. A crappy job well done, looks like the son in law did the worst part, as it should be. Just tell him when the cement dries just remove the duct tape and aim for the pipe.

  18. that sounds like too much fun. Plumbing isn't bad as long as it's new install. Old sewer pipe is the down side. Big time. I dunno if it's safe for me to wear a sarong [however bad I look] around you guys.

  29. Here are my pics for the Firstwatt F6. AMAZING sounding... the schematic was wrong... killed 4 Jfets as a result but whois counting. The Kit for DIYaudio is no for the faint of heart but it is workable. I would not recommend there chassis... buy it elsewhere. That said, its the very best sounding SS amp Ive heard, followed by the Pass XA30 and the MC252.

  30. We'll flush cut it then use a floor flange that glues inside the 4 inch pipe. If you want to use a flange that glues on the outside of the pipe you wrap the pipe with cardboard then pull the cardboard out after the cement dries. It leaves a void for the hub of the flange.

  31. Do you need a toilet flange before the concrete goes in?

Saw a few days. A little ahead of normal. No indication of what is to come. Last year was warm and dry. Real dry. Good rain for 3 week of the "monsoon" and then it stopped. Halfway thru the season, it stopped.
