  1. It took forever but seems like spring is in full bloom and summer not far behind. Stopped off at the local booze-o-rama yesterday and picked up the first bottle of Pimm's for the season. So many variants of the No 1 cup. I'm a fan of Pimm's, Gin, muddled cucumber/mint and Sanpellegrino Limonatha with bitters. If I'm not wanting to make a mess and keep it easy Pimms/Limonatha/bitters. Not as big a fan with Ginger ale, but still good. Any fans of Pimm's here? Amazing how mixed properly it is a great cocktail, strait up it is like cough medicine.

  5. Actually we had a spring this year. Several cold fronts uncharacteristically came through. When it's over, it's over though. Heat and high humidity are the order of the day. On the bright side, hurricane season starts in 3 weeks.

  6. Is this a little early for Texas to be this warm? Do you folks have a spring?

  7. If you saw one in Cory's post it's not the same. I have these custom made by a friend of mine at work. There's only two in the whole world. Mine and Mike's. 😀

  9. I think our area is skipping spring. It snowed about 2 weeks ago, and for today 88 and muggy! I saw where parts of Texas has been in the 90s all week. When was the nice spring weather? Off to make my breakfast shake 😀

  11. Just happened to be the first guy to respond to the Facebook Marketplace ad the seller posted yesterday. Honestly I worried that it might be a scam because of the low price and poor photos, but the seller was located in a nice neighborhood and he was very responsive to messages. Remarkably, the seller was knowledgeable of what he was selling and was familiar with Klipsch. He just seemed in a rush to sell. Super nice guy too.

  28. I used to work at a campground. There was the customary No Shirt No Shoes No Service sign. It was all self-serve anyway. And when the dancers moved to the park... Fishnet tops with 2in net. Why bother? They were wearing more when they strolled to the shower with nothing but a towel draped over their shoulder. I think I mentioned I used to hang with bikers and dated a house mother at a "gentlemen's club". I'm left handed, too. Poster child for ADHD. That PSA they were running, fit me to a "T". I grew out of it, sorta

  30. Now that its warming up, I do really enjoy a good sipping tequila. Here is one of my favorites: Casamigos Reposado. It strikes a fine balance between floral notes and the smoke flavors from the barrel aging.

  31. Ayinger is amazing beer and is Bavaria's finest in my opinion. My favorite is their Ur-Weisse, its a darker German wheat beer and my all time favorite for summers. For winter, I am impartial to the Spaten Optimator Doppelbock (You have to be careful with this one though):

  37. I will watch out for snakes, everyone just go to sleep and not worry one bit. There is a big section at Rodney's with plenty trees for shade and the whole place is shaded at night ! 🌛 I think after the sun goes down for awhile it will cool off, 69-70 is the lows at night, unless there is a heat wave, a cool front would be well, cool ?

  38. I’ll try that. Pineapple chunks and cottage cheese are very good, so applesauce would be good too.

  40. Our youngest daughter lived in N Louisiana 5 hours away, I use to tell her she was my favorite since she lived the furthest, she knew I was kidding. After she graduated last year she moved back down here and started teaching. It's nice to have here back down here again and she seems happier, we see her much more now. She got a job at a school close to where our oldest daughter lives about 20 minutes from here and moved in with her since they have a few extra bedrooms and it's easier for work. She got a newer car and is saving and looking at different areas for a house. She went to school for teaching with an emphasis on handicapped kids, it's what she wanted to do. Although her present job is mixed students, some handicapped some not, I guess they mix them now depending on the disability ?

  41. For the 4.5 years my daughter was working in Seattle it was 2,150 miles away. I know just how far that is as I flew up and drove back with her. Flew 4 hours, hopped in her car about noon on a Friday, drove straight through (motels at night) and made it back Sunday evening. Great roadtrip. Stopped at Little Big Horn, Mount Rushmore, a casino in Kansas City and on home. Didn't eat in chain restaurants either, all local stuff along the way.

  42. That sucks. When I was 18 I moved to FL and my parents still lived in NY. I LOVED it but now that I have kids, I can appreciate what they must have gone through. It's a completely different dynamic when you're the child as opposed to the parent.
