In my view, the new smaller room speaks even more in favour of the Heresy. It's a shame that you can't test both types. But you're on the safe side with the Heresy. You quickly get used to more or less full-bodied sound, but I suspect that the Heresy reveals more musical information and less overlay. At least my experience with large speakers in small to medium-sized rooms is not very good. It is also possible that due to its size, the Cornwall transmits more structure-borne sound through the walls, which can cause the neighbours to hear it even if you are listening to soft music.3 points

Actually doing some mods... adding t-nuts to the mounting baffle for the 12 inches. Modded the throats slightly to better match the 12 inchers instead of the 15s. Got some better terminals... it's getting there. Still happily married, but the the androgen blocker has killed motivation for about everything. Best news is cancer is below detectable levels. How's your year been?2 points

Relatively speaking, those MWM cabinets are a simple build and sound phenomenal. 👌2 points

Robin Hood and the kid next to me are out with blowers and the kid is now mowing his yard. It was snowing an hour ago. Not much but... They cut it off on the 1st every year but yesterday morning I did see the boys out cruisin thru the hood w/the truck and the vac tank. I'm sure today that stuff is parked at the garage again and I'm gonna get every stinking one of the leaves they just blew out by spring Whatever! I'm done w/this garbage. 😂2 points

Really not keen on posting what comes through the door but owning numerous Klipsch speakers from RB75’s to Jubilee’s and several in between I think I can speak with experience when I hear something special. Just received a pair of Canadian made Coherent Audio GR 12 Signatures. Point source, or co-axial design using the high performance Radian 12 inch driver, inset with a 1.75 in. beryllium dome compression driver with high Q crossover components. Currently playing with Quicksilver Horn Monos I can honestly say these are goosebumpers, something I haven’t felt with few, if any other speaker. The texture, clarity, soundstage, overall “completeness” is astounding. An exciting addition to say the least -2 points

All original drivers in perfect working condition, I have new B&K A/4500s Xovers These are in good condition, but do have some wear and small chips. They are really really nice for 1978 speakers. Pick up, and cash only. Feel free to text, or email with questions. 651-470-42841 point

This is what I've been saying all along in my videos of the Forte and I believe the reason so few know about this is because they are simply parroting what others say and pretty soon, everyone starts to believe it without ever having listened to it. Skip to 7:40 of this video. I agree with him regarding the negatives of it as well as how much bass gets lost regardless. In the Upscale Audio room I video'd, I recorded jazz. When using headsets, you can easily hear that the bass is significantly less at the distance they had their Forte IV from the wall. To add further insult to injury they added subs which I purposely left off which are not needed for general music listening when the Forte is properly placed near a wall in my opinion. If one feels the bass overwhelms the mids, they can pull it out to the desired distance but subs can drown mids anyway, so it defeats the point in my opinion.1 point

Welcome Iowa. If you liked your earlier Heresy speakers so much, was it listened in the same room? I ask because if you once have found such a lucky marriage of speaker and room it would be my benchmark. As Flevoman says the Heresy 4 may sound much fresher. If I were you I would opt for the Heresy if you had experienced them in your office/listening room, plus, you have less issues with neighbors and less potential of a boomy sound. I would say that the Heresy also fits with your taste of music and they would not dominate the relative moderate room too much optically.1 point

Nice prep work for the veneer. The oil cans in my Type E Heresy 1 networks looked like that when I replaced them with some modern caps. The difference was noticeable and commented on by my wife who had no idea that I had done anything to the speakers.1 point

So are these the speakers that just needed breaking in, or are there two LaScala posts and I'm confused. Nice to see a favorable mention of Crites.1 point

I think it's fair to say that those genre's of music you mentioned are notorious for using very low bass though. That's why we see trucks with bass boxes in the flatbeds or trunks of cars. I listen mostly to jazz and classical and I hear no reason to add subs. I'm not saying you are wrong. I'm just saying there should be some context such as placement, room, music genre. If you wear headsets and listen to my video above, you can easily hear more than enough bass, in fact, probably a bit more than needed. Just saying.1 point

What would be a good entry level/starter tube amp. Under $500? It would be needed for Heresys and a sub (2.1 sound). Would like to be able to run a HD through USB with WAV music. Anyone in the SLC, Utah area that would be willing to let me listen to their tube amps?1 point

Yes I will be doing the DIY 18's. But for now I did set two of my RW 12d's up with the Heresys. I put them at the depth setting and 40 hz. They seem to be ok for now. But that has been for radio listening only so far. The move is going slow. But yeah I will do one DIY 18 and if I like it we I might have to sell the RW's But I guess that means I would have to build what like 5 of the 18's?1 point
