14 hours left and than the year is gone here . I´m glad , done the right decisions even if they were difficult. My life is better now even if i can't look through rose-colored glasses, it's not always rosy either. There are many mental "up & down" moods of the day that affect me. The correspondence between the lawyers is exhausting and nerve-wracking. It's upsetting that my ex not only washes dirty laundry but also lies to get more money. The worst realization, however, is that I have to admit that after 22 years this woman has become a complete stranger to me, as if I had never known her. It's good that my children don't hear any of this, I don't talk to them about all these things but keep them out of it. Well, you never stop learning in life. I wish you all the very best for 2024

Good New Years Eve day everyone. Starting the day with my usual cup of French Roast from Costco, this has been my go to for some time. Music for now is Post Malone, may switch to Ella Fitzgerald later. Since Christmas, my go to for cocktails has been Vodka Cranberry, I prefer either Absolute or Titos. Since the Vikings are playing later this evening, I'm thinking finger foods such as hot wings are in order for dinner. Thus will require some custom cables, for this project I will be using Belden 1694a rg6 and F-conn compression RCAs. I like the F-Conn brand as they allow the stinger to be installed prior to inserting the cable into the connector.

I had big plans for this afternoon. HA. After I made a quart of coffee for second coffee today, my phone blew up and I was on it for hours. So all of my family has not been cruel towards me like the closest two. That portion of it has mostly been very busy for the past few years. So had a nice couple of conversations. Still zooming off of that coffee. Started caulking some cracks and lines that need straightening out. Well I can turn some lights on and go ahead and get that done tonight...

I lucked into a beautiful pair of these a couple of months ago and they are simply stunning. Are they hard to crack open? I'd eventually like to check the crossovers without causing damage to the trim and plywood. They sound amazing and I only have them hooked up to a Pioneer SX-780. Also, I see yours have badges below the tweeter, while these have the logo painted on.

The 16V electrolytics will be fine. Any higher voltage rated capacitor will work like say 50V ones as long as they are close to 10K ohms. A few ohms higher will work as well like say 12K ohms at a voltage of the original or higher. You would not want to go much higher in ohms for other reasons I will not go into now. As far as film caps they are probably fine and not needing replacement. The truth is film caps rarely if ever fail any more so than than a transistor. Changing film caps in the audio circuit from one brand to another will most always change the sound. Sometimes better sounding to you and sometime not so much. Many restorers of electronic equipment are adamant on not changing film caps wanting the sound the engineer thought best for his amplifier to remain. Parts Express sells different brands of film caps among other vendors if you do decide to change them out.

This is kind of being set up like a 'trap' of some kind... but I did an extensive listening test a few years ago making an el34 comparison and I could hear a difference in the same circuit. They had some distinct differences that I could discern... but they were more alike than different. The 66 and 88 were more potent and had a very forward mid's and the 34 were more laid back and significantly more balanced from top to bottom. That was about it for me... like most things, none was right and none were wrong. They were different flavors
