  4. I'll need some of that good Booker's but sadly no. Can't have any of that anywhere near all the near and real opioids I've run through this week. Got one that actually worked for eight hours without me feeling dopey so I've got to save some until I have it bad again or have to go into town. The Dr. and Hosp are an hour away with cooperative traffic. What I had saved up that helped out greatly without pharmacies out here in the sticks were from 2017 & 2018 they still worked! Triple bagged with astringent capsules in the bottles and each zip-lock. That all started with this:

  7. Finally got an appointment with a urologist! I can not conceive of how that should be a hard thing to accomplish! This has been one insanely painful week. With the big stone pinballing back and forth below or in my bladder at least it is bearable now.

  9. Slipped back up to the Beck lp for a lil back story. In 07 Tal had the pleasure of walking out on stage @ EC's Crossroads tour in Chicago to give it a go w/Jeff Beck. Why not? She flat kills the bass line. I've watched her transition since she was young. Sure she was gushy every time she walked out w/him. He's a perfectionist. Always has been. She nailed it @ Crossroads and now this at Ronnie Scotts? I started thinking. Wondering what her thoughts were when he passed. From one pro to a youngin who's worked for every gig? Watch her go and watch his reaction. One of the best ever and a youngin? Crazy watch on her run.

  10. Cabinets refinishing pretty much done. I hope I did not offend any of your faithful Klipsch Hersey fans by picking this color scheme. The original raw birch plywood, even with pre-stain conditioner, still came up blotchy. However the blotchiness turned out up giving the cabinets some vintage feel. So far I am quite pleased with the results. Soon to reassemble and enjoy music from them 🙂

  11. Its so interesting how many people on this Forum think that only horn loaded subs sound good. My HSU DR sub sounded good but the REL S812 sounds MUCH better to my ears. PLENTY of fast clean and deep bass that blends perfectly with my Forte IVs. Interesting how many people that have never heard a high level connected REL Sub assume that all DR subs suck!!!! LOL

  12. Okay, I might have exaggerated: his place might not be exactly in the middle of the farm 🧐. It is out there and it's beautiful. Also, what does NEED have to do with what we have? lol Maybe I need a single stack for an LCR setup......

  14. Always room for this guy! He's missed like so many others. RIP! English rock guitarist Jeff Beck played with multiple groups, including the Yardbirds, the Jeff Beck Group and Beck, Bogert & Appice. He released numerous studio, live, compilation, video and soundtrack albums during his career, as well as over twenty singles. One great lp right here imo from 2007 and dropping in 08. Performing This Week: Live at Ronnie Scott's is a live album recorded by Jeff Beck. Other performers were Jason Rebello on keyboards, Vinnie Colaiuta on drums and Tal Wilkenfeld on bass. The version of "A Day in the Life" featured on this album was awarded a Grammy for Best Instrumental Rock performance.[1] The version of "Scatterbrain" also featured on this album was placed in the hardest setlist, "Fjord of Swords", of the music video game Guitar Hero 5. Full lp here if your bored w/life and need some foot tappin to get right again.

  19. I agree with your statement about expectation bias. That is why I always listen for weeks at a time before making a final decision. Buyer bliss fades and the "truth" sets in. Can you sit for hours and listen without hearing fatigue. Do you want to listen for hours at a time and find it hard to stop listening. Your body will tell you the truth over time. The addition of the REL212/SX to my Khorns has put me in the state of not wanting to stop listening again. The improvement is so noticeable that I feel I need to listen to all of my music again to hear what I was missing before listening with the REL.

  22. Shout out to jjptkd, avguytx, and woofers and tweeters! Thanks to the three of you for your thoughtful suggestions and encouragement! Since I posted my request for CF-4 grills I have been in close contact with the prior owner of these Epic CF-4 speakers. As luck would have it, yesterday the owner's wife was finally able to locate the original grills for the speakers stashed behind the door of their at-home office! I am really stoked that the grills surfaced after everyone involved thought they were gone for good. They are a bit scruffy from being stuffed between the door and the wall for a few years, but nothing that can't be put right with some new grill cloth--which will definitely be easier than fabricating new grills from scratch. Thanks to all of you for your help! What's coming next is a group listening session comparing a pair of Generation 1 Epic CF-4's with a pair of Generation 3 Epic CF-4's. That will be fun!

  25. For the first one, value would be extremely difficult to pinpoint due to the rarity and provenance. Many have donated speakers like that to the Klipsch Museum for a tax deduction. The second pair were made in ‘88 (first 2 numbers of the serial #).

  38. I have attaches the pic of the room. It is a 30ft long by 15 ft. Looks like the "eyes" is where the speakers are. The straight line "mouth like" is where the couch is. There is a bay window on left side. Receiver is Yamaha Rx-V485. Energy 10 inch sub is between TV stand and left speaker. The music us mostly from Youtube from telus TV box. The TV stand is between the 2 speakers . I have put Covid mask over the tweeter horn and it seems to have helped a bit and of course I have turned down trebble a bit. Thanks

  39. Is there any way to tell if PSB C8 would be a good centre channel match for klipsch RP5000F mains. Some speakers are "Vailed" and some "unvailed" and I wonder which category PSB C8 belongs to. Can you match "vailed" with "unvailed" or should not be mixed.

  40. noticed some bightness in vocals. Almost sounds a bit like a cartoon character singing (if that makes sense) sounds a bit nasal. The vocals don't sound deep. Especially female vocals. I have EQ setting on yamaha receiver. Is there any frequencies I should boost or reduce on the klipsh RP5000F I have Eq sliders on yamaha receiver at following frequencies 63Hz 160Hz 400Hz 1 KHz 2.5 KHz 6.3 KHz 16 KHz I also have Dynamic Range setting , Adaptive DRC , and Enhancer setting The odd thing is that I notice this bright/nasal characteristic when listening in stereo. The center channel seems somewhat better in this regard.

  42. Running them full range and Base boost on my receiver to "on" otherwise no base goes to the sub when I change speakers to "Large" on my yamaha receiver. Boy..there is a lot to learn on how to get the most pleasing sound. Moving speakers around has also been helpful. My sub has an input that bypasses the sub crossover and I assume would give a cleaner signal to the sub..but I don't know how to restrict the frequencies going to the sub when turning on bass boost thus I have no choice but to use the crossover in the subwoofer.

  44. Just reoiled my Supers. Used 0000 steel wool and got a bit of a shine on them. Second thought maybe the gray fabric wouldn't look that good on these with all the brown tones. Not sure what color besides black would look nice and a change from the black grills.
