Moderators Travis In Austin Posted October 19, 2017 Moderators Share Posted October 19, 2017 Stones. No great songs? Y'all are just suffering brain fade. Think back. There are even a few that fit in with this topic. I have been a hugh Genesis fan for a long, long time, and have seen them many, many time starting with the Lamb Lies Down Tour. It's apples and oranges. If you don't like blues or R&B you are not going to like the Stones.

JohnJ
Thanks @oldtimer I did have the thought of that Southpark cop saying his thing when I posted that. That was before coffee, doing laundry, putting up dishes....I might have been the cranky one! Suprised by folks saying the Stones sucked. They are rock n roll, I kinda dislike most of that blue cd I got the last year or so where they sound like a garage band in a small club. I love most of their 70s work. They might not be Max Vol in my book either, that would be Rush or Bon Scott belting one out.

gottajam
I used to not care for the blues too much when I was younger, but as I age, I find that I am liking it more and more. Robert Cray is probably my favorite, then Buddy Guy and B.B.
gottajam
The first time I heard Buddy play I was amazed. I am not sure of his age, but he just flat out tears it up! Great for max volume (too me) I was just kidding around in my post this morning guys. I realize that neither the Stones, nor Genesis sucks. They would not be as successful as they have each become over time if they sucked.

Everything I read, heard and saw in the late 70s - 80s while I was discovering more of them was saying they were the most recognizable rock group ever. Hard to compare what one group does to what another does. I didn't drive to Tampa to see Pearl Jam at the Ice Palace and expect them to put on a Metallica like kind of show like my bud riding with me did either. They're different.
