crazytubepower
I've seen some pictures with people's chairs within 6 feet of the speakers. I'm just taking a poll or how far you sit. Please include the type of speakers you have

garymd
Khorns (13ft apart) - about 8 ft. Cornwalls (12 ft apart) - about 12 feet Khorns are at 45 degree angles so the sweet spot is closer. The Corns are just slightly toed in making the sweet spot farther back.

Chorus II's ---------------- ditto that (except my speakers are mounted bookshelf style up near the cieling on top of my entertainment center, angled down with some fancy shelves) I've got 2 subs in the front corners below the speakers (so 12feet again) and then I have another subwoofer about 6 feet directly behind me. Seadog
Update: After measurements with NIST calibrated laser measuring instruments (or was that a Lufkin tape measure that I used?): About 9' from my K-horns which are 16' apart. About 9' from my Cornwalls which are 13' apart with about 6" of toe in. About 1/2" from the speakers in my headphones

JJkizak
I do not sit when listening to the K-horns. Constantly walking, moving back and forth over a 24 x 15 foot room and walking into the kitchen getting coffee and the door into the living room is removed so that the door opening is just like a "Bass reflex port" with the living room as the driver. Also have to go to shelves to move items that are rattling. JJK
colterphoto1
Hard to say, I'm usually lying on the floor. No joke, it's actually my preferred position for serious listening Probably midway between front Corns about 6' from each. On my back, those 15" woofers become like the worlds largest headphones and my body gets the full shock wave of that low end rumbling across the floor. Speedball
RF7's are 7' apart & I am 7' back. EDITED: Due to the room furniture the speakers are in the only suitable location. Really, I would like to have them further from the wall. This year I'm telling Santa to bring me a dedicated listening room.
