  2. Quick fact...The Everglades is actually not a swamp but a slow moving river. Considered by many to be the worlds widest river at 112 miles.
  3. In Florida safe and sound. Thus far the temperature has been quite tolerable. Heading out for an airboat ride in The Everglades. šŸ˜
  4. This is the older model I was thinking of... https://www.ebay.com/itm/196372543534?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&mkscid=101&itemid=196372543534&targetid=2299003535995&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9013290&poi=&campaignid=21203633013&mkgroupid=162035688435&rlsatarget=pla-2299003535995&abcId=9407526&merchantid=114718276&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw9IayBhBJEiwAVuc3fjyNdL5ARL9eJzOmbZNG08Fv737KF0tHgz7qYwVPPKjwdRZBNwTRtRoCFSwQAvD_BwE

  6. @Dave1291 Here's a video with Eddie and a bunch of other top performers doing a benefit. Plus, I'm attaching the article from the LA Times from '99 that explains what happened. Eddie_Tuduri.pdf
  7. I got to spend some time with the pair last night, and am really impressed with the sound quality. For some reason my brain says "PA speaker" when I look at that beat up pair of boxes and expects to hear "ok" sound. But then my ears tell me its wayyyy better. I got these as a side deal when I wen to demo a pair of Cornwalls. I loved them but mentioned to the seller that I felt guilt at putting them in a dusty cold/hot shop, (Texas) when he mentioned he had this pair sitting in storage a few miles away. We grabbed them and did a side by side with the Cornwalls, and despite the one dead tweeter, the pedigree was there. My room is a woodshop 30x30x15, and I had a pair of Kg4 on a shelf around 8 ft high pointed down that were good but had nowhere near the output I wanted when working. Power is/has been a Onkyo HT receiver at 110 WPC, and a NAD receiver at 50. (Despite the lower output, the NAD sound has won the job for now). I strapped the -301's to a furniture dolly so I can move them around, and with that proximity the output is much better (uh-Doy), but that sound is IMPRESSSIVE. I have a pair of Heresy 1.5's and a pair of RP8000F's in the house and these are more similar to the Heresy but with the bass I want. I heard things from familiar songs that I never knew were there. I'm going to listen them for a bit more before I figure out the next step in this game. I will of course clean them up a bit, but these are shop speakers and will get their fair share of dirt and dust, so I wont go nuts on that.
  8. Currently I am borrowing a friend's CJ MV60 which is adequate for most music. But it will run out of steam if pushed on harder, more complex stuff. Next weekend I will picking up a McCormack DNA 0.5 which has been modified by SMc with the GT-20 package and gravity base. So yes, I'm going to the dark side. But I am familiar with Steve's amps and all I've owned (4) in the past sounded very good.
  9. Is it possible to get a live tour of such a factory? Plinko Game ā€“ Play for Real Money ā€“ Casino Online https://casinoplinko.com/
  10. Wow, looks like you're starting out all over again? What amplifier are you running these with if I may ask? Congrats on the new speakers!
  11. You might want to consider updating the firmware of your Cinema 600 speakers to address the pairing issue. For instructions on acquiring and installing the latest firmware, you can either visit the official Klipsch website or reach out to their support team for assistance. Regards: servidor avanzado ff
  12. This is a pair of Dixielanders. The square box is the folded bass horn, with a horn tweeter on top. If you show something different, we'll try to help you figure out what it is.
  13. Your price is completely fair if not low. good luck finding a pair that nice anywhere else.
  14. I've got an article saved as a pdf that I'll post. I think it was Carpiteria Beach, not too far from Santa Barbara. The accident was in 1997, the article is from 1999.
  15. George, if you can find any way for me to use this subwoofer without the control pod that would be great. I just got one of them for free today and have no clue what to do with it. There's got to be something that I can repurpose this for.
  16. Are you able to test the sub using a different amp to provide the LFE signal. Would like to be able to isolate the issue to either the amp or the plate amp on the R-120SW. Also, how high is the gain setting on the subwoofer?
  17. A fellow Canadian (from the GTA) chiming in ā€¦ The price is excellent. Whoever buys them will be getting a fantastic deal. I bought a pair of beat up La Scalas a couple of years ago for $2800. I added SMAHLs for roughly $500. Repairing and veneering the cabinets cost in the neighbourhood of $1000 (no cost for labour since I did the work myself). La Scalas donā€™t come up for sale often in these parts. The ones youā€™re selling are excellent. It would cost more to build a pair from scratch or to try to bring a pair of beat up speakers to the calibre of the ones youā€™ve listed. Good luck with the sale.
  18. You're exactly spot on with that statement. Factor in wait time depending on how busy he is? It's truly a steal. Anyone out there looking better jump all over those. Great work, a meticulous build actually and they sound ahhhhhhmazing here.
  19. Killer photo @MicroMara! Actually, the best I've seen yet. Great lp's thrown down too. See what all the biking does for you? Just watch out for the morons. Back in the day I'd do 100-150 miles a week with no helmet just my cap. Had my lil Sony cassette player & a headset. I'd hit that wall about 7 mile into the ride so programmed my tunes for it. Worked like a charm. Kicked it, got thru it and cruised. Sweat like a pig! We'd go about 19 -24 mph out in the country around here when there were 3-4 of us together. Those guys were riders and pushed each other. Somehow I hung w/em. lol Solo it got hairy. People were crazy on the country roads. If ya got clipped ya might lay there for hours. Germany? Just HAS to be insane. Stay woke! lol
  20. Iā€™ve used the ASC products for over 20 years and they have excellent build quality and their performance specifications can be trusted. I have found the ability to easily adjust the absorption or diffusive option of the tube traps for liveness and envelopment in my listening room very valuable to me as well. I also love the ability to easily change the deployment and location of the Tube Traps as I experiment with the acoustics and setup of my listening room and my equipment. They of course are used in the corners for the most efficient bass damping but they are also valuable to use at first reflection control and SBIR control. You can see some pictures of one of my more recent setups using Tube Traps in this thread if interested.
  21. So I have the R-120SW hooked up to a pioneer VSX-lx505, I have tried several cables, as soon as I hook up a cable to the subwoofer I get a hum,,, this is in the over 80 hz range, it is directly affected by the gain setting and the frequency setting. Turning the frequency down below 80 hz almost fully negates the hum. Cable length and what it is hooked to has no effect. I am using good quality shielded cables and have tried isolating the cable path away from any power and any other electronic device. Both the subwoofer and the amp is connected to the same power source. please noteā€¦ this is not a ground fault itā€™s above 60hz and happens regardless of what is plugged into the other end of the cable. I have even tried plugging in a 50ohm dummy plug in the cable. having this issue makes using LFE useless. Any ideas?

  23. I donā€™t think thatā€™s an old enough model to be affiliated with the Klipsch museum. šŸ™‚ You might have better responses posting a wanted to buy in the Garage Sale section farther down the forum.
  24. Itā€™s a proprietary connection. I donā€™t think $60 is unreasonable for a working subwoofer, but it might be a better idea to buy from Klipsch and have a warranty.
