  1. I have been battling an ingrown toenail for most of my life. I broke down the other day to make an appointment to get it removed. doc walks in and says, "Klipsch?" I am sure my face lit up as most folks don't know the first thing about quality audio, he talks about his systems he has had in the past, and I tell him about mine. I also tell him about my plans for my future upcoming theater setup. it almost made getting my nail ripped off enjoyable. then for the bad news, I call up my boss and ask him if I can take a vacation day, as I will be on pain meds and maintenance work is kinda hard to do without full use of both of my feet. he replies that he cant approve it without 24 hours notice. real good way to take care of your folks eh? last time I did this, he waited until Friday to cut it up, so that is why I didn't go ahead and request a day off. what a wanker!

  3. Had the same thing happen last week, battery in the jeep Cherokee was turning over the engine slower than normal. After a few days and cleaning the connections no change. While this was going on when you would start it, it would not idle cold, it would kill, you would have to give it a little gas to keep it going. New battery and it starts fine and idles perfect when cold. Probably an older model then yours but sounds similar, it's a 01 model.

  9. Had my coffee like usual. Went to start the jeep to go to work and nothing. Ugh dead battery, I was able to get it jump started. But once I let my foot off it would die. So now I am setting on the side of the road a 1/2 mile from work waiting for one of my field techs. Glad to see all minermark has to do is install his monitor. Oh well least it happened now instead of the dead of winter.

  10. Today's date is 10-07-14. Remember years ago when we were talking about the future and what it would be like in the year 2000? Cannot believe how time is flying by!

  11. Morning gang: Making the pot with a slight Mod today, thinned out the Major Dickinsons Blend with a tad of Folgers. Wife was getting the jitters before she even went to work yesterday. 90 yet again today, another light work load day, new monitor as yet to be installed. Really must start the wall work to hide these dam cables. I suspect Tarheel is keeping busy.

  13. Ok I don't have a phone and don't want one, and do not do facebook. So when they changed the forum an added "likes" I ignored it including giving likes for a couple of months and finally got tired of clicking that red thing at the top. I eventually hit like one day to see what would happen and it started from there.

  14. When I was a kid, a couple of brothers put Dog Food in bowls, added sugar and milk, and were scarfing it down. They offered me some saying it was really good. I passed. Maybe I missed out on a real treat..

  15. Cables? I hooked some up this weekend. I had my back patio system down while the house was being painted. Finally got around to hooking the speakers and sub back up. Saturday afternoon/evening we barbq'd and fired it back up. I forgot how much I enjoyed that system. Finally shut it down at 11:30, surprised the police didn't show. I had a bad case of drink creep with the volume knob. Drink creep..............I should coin that. Coffee? Still pounding the 8 o'clock every morning. Seemed extra good this morning.

  19. Hi guys and gals. Been way too long since I've been here. Been trying to get a new business up and running the past few years, haven't had the time to do much else. Dust is somewhat settling, and as a present to myself for the past 1,000 days of 3 hours of sleep, I've bought myself a gorgeous pair of mid 80's KHorns in dark walnut, with some Bob Crites mods to the crossovers. Phil in Arkansas was the previous happy owner. However, my speakers are sitting in Phil's house in Little Rock, and I'm happy ensconced in my domicile in picturesque Northford, Connecticut. I need to get them from there to here. Phil spoke with a trucking / freight company he's used with good success in the past, but they quoted approximately $1,500 to pack and ship the KHorns. Which seems a bit on the "What???????" side to me. Does anyone have any suggestions / experience / helpful tips on how to ship or whom to use to ship the KHorns? No, Phil does not have any of the original packaging. Nice to be back... Ray Garrison

  21. I think BMW must be monitoring this forum ... the dealer just called and asked what my intentions are with my car. They say they want it for their pre-owned vehicle lot (code for we want you to buy a new one). They'll have to make me a fantastic deal ... probably too fantastic for them to even think of offering.

  24. ordered a new woofer for my klfc7 center spkr. i knew as soon as i opened the box it was going to be damaged....it was.....the plastic surround on th face of the spkr was craced in about 5 places, with pieces missing. spoke to andrew at klipsch, and without any hassle at all he said chuck the received woofer, and another will be sent out today. mistakes and accidents happen, whick is why customer service is the most important factor in my choosing a comp to do business with. thank you andrew.

  26. 1 4x4' pallet, 4x4" cardboard on top, face the K-Horns toward each other with sheets of 4x4" cardboard in between them. Rip 2x4's length wise into 2x2's. Large bubble wrap the crap out of the two K-horns. build a frame base around the K-Horns with 2x2's and deck screws, and screw to pallet.. Build a rectangle with cross bracing at the same heights on all 4 sides and screw to each other and base. now cross brace the top. screw in all sorts of 2x2's against the perimeter flat sides of the speakers and screw to cross bracing on all 4 sides to firmly wedge the speakers solidly into place. cover frame on all 4 sides and top with osb and screw it down to frame. need 1 table saw, 1 circular saw, 1 power trim saw, 1 power drill, 1 small brain. Easy and rock safe... Roger

  33. Thanks Keith! I did post more often during the "early years". My interest was always associated with the Klipschorn folded bass horn. I think its technically an interesting device. Also, I'm up to 40 Likes! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ OK... count me in....

  40. Interesting psychological aspect to all of this. The two most "liked" posts overall on the forum. One was from "tears of joy" (by our much beloved Amy, Queen Emeritus) and it seems that "tears of sorrow/whining" will also get a lot of attention too. I know that it seems that sexy women or women in costume rarely gets the crowd going anymore.
