  7. Mornin' guys ... was off yesterday and still catching up. Great weather here ... sunny with temps in 70s and 80s. Heading down to Colorado Springs today for a wedding at the Air Force Academy. Have driven by it hundreds of times but never went inside. Should be interesting. May go down a bit early for a trip to a great coffee shop in Manitou Springs (next to Pike's Peak). JEF ... great story about your dad. Thanks for sharing it. Cheers to all.

  9. Figured I'd start a little early this year. This is about half done. We do the yard up every year, then after kids are done trick or treating, we give out candy and scare the kids and parents ourselves. We were all zombies the last 2 years so we fit right in with the decorations. I'm trying to finish a handmade old 1800's style pine casket so I can lay in it this year.

  13. Afternoon gang.... Just got caught up on the posts..... The yard sale today was a hit..... It was alot of fun... Got home from the shop early yesterday and set up all the goodies on the lawn... I was out there till 9:00 last night. Covered it all up with tarps. I was outside at 7:30 this morning, I set up the EV's and my little Crown for some tunes. By 8:00 the wife got my coffee to me and the 1st customer rolled up.... what's the 1st thing he goes for.......He starts walking past the things for sale to my EV's and was saying "oh how much for the EV's" .... lol lol.... I quickly tell him there not for sale and point him to the all the tables of goodies. Well like most yard sales... one or two might stop in.... then no one for some time.... then a wave of people stop in... then the wheeling and dealing will start..... By 12:30 or so I was really happy with what I sold... but I was still looking at all the stuff I would have to take back in to the garage..... Then two guys pulled up in an old Camry and some other guy in a F-150... These guys started checking out all the stuff and there was still alot of good stuff. For the next two hours we were wheeling and dealing. They loved the music... they were buying alot of stuff. So we were kinda wrapping things up.... and I looked at the tables of things I still had..... I said to the one guy..... Lets make a deal so I don't have to take this stuff back in.... He said I don't have any more room in the car... I said that's ok.... Lets come to a good number and I will tarp the stuff back over and you can get it later... He spoke with his buddy and the deal was done.... OH YEA.... Now, we did the deal.. he gave me the money and we shook hands.... then a few more people stopped in and they were looking at the stuff..... I looked at the guy that i just made the deal with and said.... "hey man it's your stuff sell it"... lol lol.... yea we were all laughing it was quite funny... This was a "Mans" yard sale..... tools upon tools upon tools and cool stuff ..... Two years ago I purchased the contents of a garage. This yard sale was the "left over" "left over" stuff. For the last two years Iv'e had four yard sales with this stuff. Iv'e also done a bunch of E-bay and CL... So today was the end of the stuff... Well I do have some more stuff over the lady's house I still have to get.... Like a 9" South Bend lathe that's still there and some other bigger items. She also wants me to buy the contents of the other garage she has.... we'll see.. OK.....well with pocket full of money I have.... I think me and the wife will get a nice steak dinner..... she did alot of work (NOT).. well she did the DJ part of the music today.... Yea was really a fun fun day doing the yard sale.... Wishing all a great weekend... MKP :-)

  17. Last "smart" phone I remember was wired to the wall. There was no such thing as "dropped" call and if you were cut off you worried that either something horrible had happened to the person you were talking to or WWIII had broken out. Few will comprehend what I just said. Most of us are dead or getting that way. Just wish I could occasionally finish a call without suddenly realizing I am talking to myself. Dave

  21. Well, it will be meaningless to you or anyone here, but for whatever reason I distinctly remember the first time I heard "The Letter" driving on the perimeter road of the Southern State College campus in Magnolia, AR. No way to figure why one remembers certain things. Also have a distinct similar weird memory of hearing "Eleanor Rigby" driving on 20th street in Texarkana in the rain in my mother's 1961 Chevy. That one is slight more understandable in that I was fascinated that the wipers were precisely in time with the music. Dave

  22. I was lucky enough to see Hendrix as a kid in the UK, he played the Civic Hall in Grays, Essex on February 14th 1967. My sister has Hendrix, Mitchell and Reddings autograph signed together and also a machine head off of the guitar he smashed and also set alight. It was a night to remember as a 16 year old.

  25. http://www.audioquest.com/star-quad-speaker-cables/type-2 +++ I use the Monoprice 12g, good stuff. Don't use their banana plugs, they have screw-in tips which constantly come loose. These Knukonceptz.com cables have been highly recommended by others as good wires, decent price. http://www.knukonceptz.com/home-theater/speaker-wire/karma-ss-speaker-kable/ http://www.knukonceptz.com/home-theater/speaker-wire/kl3-kable/ Knukonceptz are my guys, you go with them one time and you are spoiled for life. 27. Thank you JL They are truly wonderful people. I was blessed with both. He has raised me since I was 3...and have never thought of him as anything but my father (my real father passed when I was very young). If you are familiar with Brad Paisleys song Man He Didn't Have To Be....I've always felt that it was written about him...truly an amazing Husband, Father and Best Friend. And honestly one of the most talented people I've ever know....I feel like there is nothing he cannot do/make/build/fix/teach....I am the man I am today because of him. And my wife Susan...Pioneer Woman is all that comes to mind....we grew up together from the age of 5...dated on and off through Jr/Sr High School. Both got divorced around the same time and both moved back to our hometown where we ran back into each other...and this is where we find ourselves now 6 years later.

  28. Track saws are great and i have nothing against them, i just learned things the old school way and feel comfortable with it so most of my work is done that way. If i had the room for a panel saw it would be a great option but there is just no way to fit it in my garage/shop as good ones are huge. If the track saw works best for you then by all means use it. Different strokes for different folks.

So far Mig with Argon and Stick with Lincoln 7018 H8 sticks dad is gonna let her get used to the wirefeed Mig before teaching her how to Tig Ahh, good old 7018, my personal Fav is 6011, once she gets into that wire feed you know what's going to happen, she will say the hell with those Sticks! HA! Already has!! Text I got earlier "Ran out of sticks....finishing rest with wirefeed....YAY!! Sooooooo much easier!!" Pics of her welding please!

  34. Morning Gang Looking around the backyard, touchy/feely, Upol has worked well. Will just let the McMs set for a day, good day in the heat will offgas the finish. Day of rest, as well as the weekend. 80s low 90 i like just fine. Next week we get a neighborhood trash P/U where you can stack anything you wish in the gutter and the county cleans it up. Wife and i will attack the entire front yard, gutting flowerbed(s), and basicly stripping out everything dead. Out of Guinness Blond, HaggenDaz, Duggans and energy, well my Friday is starting off just Peachy.

  38. Because they only make 55 and 75 inch tracks. Two 55 inch tracks are too short. It only gives you 7" of overhang on each end and that's not enough. Totaly agree, overhang is a must! nothing like doing a 7' cut and finishing freehand, that would be BS. We have ALL used devices like this sometime in our past, A 2X4 and a couple clamps, there is our straight edge. Some guy who thought of this is sitting in Cabo saying FK the world, i did good. Festool W/Vac, buy it once, do it right. CeC is the most EXPERIENCED user of Festool iv seen to date.

  39. Welcome to the World of imported (China) Amps. Iv been running Imported Amps for well over 20+ years. Chinese do NOT design Amps, they copy what is known to be good quality, and popular seller, they play with design/looks howevr if one took the time to trace circuit(s), you would find Patents of the exact design. Primeamp is my guy on the Bay, looking at this slection of amps offered by this company, i would say look into Primeamp and get twice the Amp for half the money. Shipping is the real killer, but deals can be had with a good search.
