  1. Check this 50 plus pound catfish caught in the lake at Rodney’s Place this evening. If you’re attending Pilgrimage consider bringing your fishing pole! Catfish, large mouth bass and perch. One of Roy’s favorite fishing spots!

  3. Taboo subject or not, I remember the day I unboxed and hooked up the Heresy III. A rather thin, anemic sound and an uneven bass response was what I heard. After a week or two they were slowly changing, no doubt about it. No, my ears wasn’t getting used to the new sound. The voicing was clearly changing - to the better. Switching from KT88 push and pull to 845 SET was another step up the ladder, but I was still not there. Listening fatigue was a major factor for me gave up that project. Therefore I bought some huge, classic Spendor monitors. Amazing speakers, especially on vocals, folk, blues and jazz. Not so much on rock and more complex music. Fast forward to January 2018. The hi-fi system has now been moved from the attic/man cave to the much bigger living room; due to tragic circumstances. My beloved wife - and mother of our two kids - suddenly died on a mountain trip last autumn. 46 year and her heart just stopped. My world stopped. There was indeed no need for a man cave any longer... So, one day in January, and just for fun, I swapped the Spendors for the Heresys. Oh my god. What has happened?! After two and a half year the Heresys finally sang to me. A colourful soundstage was in full bloom right in front of me! Just like a Panavision movie. I heard sounds from everywhere but not the speakers. Even the bass was in place, not much of it, but very very fast, presice and articulate. Then, I start reading all those strong reviews of the Forte III, decided to sell the Spendors and go Klipsch all the way. With Forte III I have the foundation I was missing from the little Heresy. Sometimes I think there is too much bass. I will not sell the Heresys before I experience that kind of magic with the Forte III. I may never sell them anyway... Pardon my english. I just typed this piece from my iPhone, and I’m Norwegian.

  5. BOOM!!!! Just bought the RC-64ii Looked on audiorama website, thanks again @teaman. It was listed as $599 plus $49 shipping. Total cost was going to be $648. I researched further on a U.S. wide craigslist search, and I found one in Mission Vejo Cali for $500. Looked to be in good conditions, But they didn’t respond and it would’ve been a roll of dice if they would’ve shipped. Most likely it would’ve cost more than $50 to ship. So I called (instead of online order) audiorama and was able to talk them down to $550 and they waved the shipping. So I did find a RC-64ii around $500 with a 30 day return policy and 90 day warranty. Money I saved will be going towards subwoofers! Goes to show, just be patient. Deals are out there. I gotta say thank you to all who have helped me with comments/links/ideas to help this dream of a 7.2.4 become closer to reality. 😎👍🏼 Now hurry up and get here!

  7. Thought you were talking about me The rivalry is real and takes in just a few miles that encompass the campuses of Duke, NC State, and UNC. Tobacco road as it is referred to. Everyone loves to hate Duke though. I saw a bumper sticker the other day that read "Teach a young child to hate State".

  9. Was at the oldest daughters house today to work on the pool again. At the end of the summer last year we pumped it out and cleaned it then painted it. They never connected the pump or filter because it was winter, not smart. So today we pumped it out with a 2" pump and the kids cleaned out the leaves. It took hours to pump it out at over 25,000 gallons, tomorrow they will paint some and it is on them.

  13. Nope, sorry. From all the hype on the Klipsch Owners FB group I would say that everyone that has compared them head to head has selected the III's over the II's. It sounds like the horn is less harsh on the new one. Pretty much the same thing we heard when the II came out, that is was smoother than the first. In case you Facebook. The group leader Cory Harrison is also from this forum, and an authorized dealer so he can answer all of your questions...maybe even find you a deal. https://www.facebook.com/groups/KlipschOwners/

  15. Years ago we had to have approved watches for work. Schedules and all. The watches had to be cleaned and tested yearly. With the advent of more modern technology that regulation disappeared. So I'm tired of looking at 24 hour dials. I haven't thought about it but I could wear it on my penis. I'll have to check and see if I can buy extra band links. Thanks for the heads-up. Keith

  21. Agreed. I tend to think of the original RC-64 as being worth about $600 and the 64 II at $800. With the 64- III being released, you can now find the closeouts on the 64 II's at a great deal prices. Don't you have enough stuff? I bet your wife doesn't know what you really lust after, late at night on the computer.

  22. I received my Cambridge Audio 650c Azur CD player yesterday and have it connected via RCA cables to my Pioneer Elite SC-LX501 receiver. Prior to this I was using either my PS3 or a low end Sony 5 disc changer both connected by optical cable to the Pioneer. So, previously I was using the DACs in the Pioneer for CD playback. I've been able to listen to about 50 different songs on CDs that I'm very familiar with and have listened to hundreds of times. I have never heard more detail, stereo separation and naturalness to the sound in my entire life. I never realized how much better a CD can sound based off the quality of the player. Everything just sounds perfectly real. It's amazing. The only thing I wish is that it was a changer instead of a single disc player. But, it seems that any mid to high end CD player is a single disc unit. The Pioneer receiver obviously has a great analog section as well. It's the first time I've used any of it's analog inputs. I'm really enjoying rediscovering the music again! 🎶

  23. I was up. too thirty think I missed a good sunrise. Was being quiet ... out in the doghouse. Letting wife sleep. Came in to find the granddaughter at 6:45, "Pa, I was looking for you!" Unfortunately, she woke the wife looking for me. we [the kid and I] used to have breakfast every day. About that time. Then it was music and dancing .

  24. You racial background isn't used in court. The only thing in court is whether it is your DNA or if you are parent/relative of someone else. They wouldn't be submitted under Ancestry or 23 and me. The Ancestry and 23 are valid, however, they can be off on European location. They are notorious for mixing up Hispanic and Native American. There is still a lot of interpretation going on. The data is accurate, what you can say from that data is slowly becoming more refined.

  31. Yes it was. It was the Indiana High School finals today also. A little town I lived in for 3 years made it to the 1A final game....Morristown. It was like in the movie Hoosiers. Morristown won by 29 points. They played (and lost) in their only other appearance in a final game back in 1911.

  36. that is an agave type plant. That is it's last act. The bloom. All of that is one season's growth. Then the mother plant will die. They typically "pup" - clone/s from the root - as a means of propagating. We have similar here, but ours aren't soft. They will TEAR YOU UP. lemme see if I can pop a pic of ours. They are still babies. They are called CenturyPlants because it takes several years before they bloom. They get quite large during that growth time.

  45. 8500$ is more than likely not very realistic... perhaps by a long shot. If your intent is to sell them, then you might temper your expectations by more than half... but you are free to ask whatever you want for the speakers. high quality pictures are also helpful.

  46. I’m using a Decware SE34I.3 Rachael and conrad johnson PV10B preamp with my La Scalas. They're in a small room so I don’t need much power. The Decware is around 5 watts per channel using EL34 tubes. I like the sound of this set up very much. Especially when playing vinyl. The Prima Luna amps look very nice. If anyone has tried those I'd like to read your opinions too. HTH, Mark
