  8. And I was thinking you were a normal person all this time "No, not at all. It will clean you out, but it doesn't happen any faster. It's a great metabolism booster. " Sounds like what I need, a metabolism booster, I wake up with enough energy to make it to the coffee pot.

  11. Haha...."like angels crying on your tongue" No soda for me at all, I actually don't need anything to get going, especially caffeine. I wake up alert, bright, and usually cheerful, my wife hates me in the morning! I've tried to like coffee, just can't get into it. Some of the chocolate flavored stuff Starsmuchs sells tastes ok, but I don't need a $7 a day breakfast habit.

  15. USNRET, we get a lot of "That address doesn't exist" from UPS. We just tell them to get it to Nogales. They can find us from there. they are on top of it. My buddy was getting things delivered to his new address before he gave it to them... or was moved in. Serious

  19. some folks don't drink coffee. I don't know how. But, do see those people hitting the pepsi or mountain dew pretty early. I experienced something unusual [a lot of unusual] while working at the store. if you should run out of mountain dew ... those people suffer withdrawal. I have to admit to being there at 7AM for coffee.

  20. some game?!? glad I tivo'd it and just skimmed the 2nd half. I did, intently, watch the 1st. Didn't really care who won, but would have enjoyed a closer game. thinking about sitting at the lake today ... after a trip to the "mall"[dump/tip]. Worst part of that is trying to refrain from bring more back than I take. There is always stuff that is useful. I have to limit myself to bringing things home that have an immediate use. Too easy to gather up lots of "this will work for something ... too good to let go"... Peruvian coffee for starters. 4AM... and I am about ready to do something. If I was single, the house would be rockin' and housework done. Some folks seem to need sleep, tho.

  21. Had some fun with these. The paddle ball was a real challenge and proved later in life to have helped me play tennis also steal the ball a LOT in basketball. I also had a fondness for the spinning tops until I found the gyroscope and playing marbles, slinky and Stretch-Arm-Strong. I'd go on my BMX bike and take off ALL day towards the caves by the ocean. Then after dinner I'd take my baseball mitt and tennis ball and practice pitching against a wall. I wanted to be a pitcher and became a really good one in little league. Good times. Never grew up with electronics.

  22. Aww He*l, We cut the top and bottom off of two coke or beer steel cans, top off of another. Taped them together so there was a bottom, used the triangular end of a bottle opener put four holes at the bottom sidewall.... kinda like opening the big old cans of V-8. Tennis balls fit right in there...... a drop of rubbing alcohol in the bottom. Light it and boom, at night it was a fireball..... whenever, if you didn't dodge it and were close it could put a whelp on you.

  24. Hello Forum Members How you all doing? Hello from Birmingham in the UK. I hope this message finds you all well. This is my first post on the Klipsch forum and hopefully not my last, I am coming to you with an enquiry in reference to setting up a new audio system in my home. For a bit of backstory, just over a week ago I attended a party in London which had Klipschorn speakers as the main speakers system. It was the first time I had heard music through a klipsch speaker and like a lot of you have been turned and tuned into the delights of high fidelity sound. I heard music at that party like nothing I had heard before, well known records sounded better and unknown records sounded incredible. My ears were not battered but more so in tune with every delicacy and element. It was incredible! After that it got me thinking, at home I have a basic set up of mission speakers running through a mission amplifier going into my technics 1210 and DJ mixer. Whilst it works it doesn't work like a klipsch speaker, my ever going record collection of jazz, disco, ambient, soul, house, psychedelic rock and hip hop I feel would benefit from a klipsch speaker system. Whilst I'd love horns my room isn't big enough, my small music cave (which I can share pictures) hosts my collection and DJ equipment with around 8x8 space behind it for sitting in. So, it got me thinking about investing in Hearsys speakers. My main listening habits are home listening with the odd DJ practice session before gigs. I figured I'm going to be listening to music for as long as I can therefore I should take the approach that good sound is important. I'm tempted to save and buy a pair, on eBay they are retailing at £1400 but then there is the discussion about amplification which would then be secondary and a purchase later on down the line. I'd like to hear reviews, thoughts, considered ideas for a novice and what is a good process to be with some klipsch speakers. I'm new to all this so bare with me, but I'm keen and interested. I see this forum as an education tool as much as a fan club. Tom Sent from my Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

  25. Item is SOLD For sale is a lovely Pioneer SX-1250 receiver. Great shape, a few tiny nicks here and there, but as you can see in the photos, it looks great. Solid oak cabinet that is beautiful. This is one of the most highly regarded and collectible receivers ever made. A spectacular 160 watts. Tone controls are fantastic. Supports multiple pairs of speakers. Sound quality is simply awesome. I have had this hooked up at different times to LSI splits, Khorns, Chorus IIs, La Scala, Heresys, HIPs. Specs available here: https://www.hifiengine.com/manual_library/pioneer/sx-1250.shtml The following work was performed by my highly respected tech not long ago: Main filter caps replaced All out of spec capacitors and resistors replaced on all boards All transistors checked and replaced as necessary Tuner aligned All outputs checked and working Fully cleaned and lubed Faceplate and glass cleaned and polished All lights replaced as necessary Only minor issue is antenna bracket in rear is missing. Not interested in trades. Only Paypal or MO or check. $1250.00 I would highly prefer local pickup, or I will drive an hour or so to meet. I am located in NW Indiana, South Bend area. If you want this unit shipped, it will be the full responsibility of the buyer to make arrangements for the shipping service, packaging and full value insurance. Please PM me if seriously interested.

  26. You have to wonder just how many units they were selling. The whacko's like us involved in niche markets are shrinking. Oppo built solid units, spent extra on very nice packaging and great people to service their customers. Seeing companies like this going away just tells me the younger crowd is losing its sophistication for Convenience and disposable products, oh and obviously losing on IQ as well. Now pass those Tidepods over here please.

  32. ♂ ♀ ✳ † ∞ Or, the same as infinity times 2, or infinity + 2, unless, in traveling an infinite distance, you are traveling on the surface of a sphere. The lecturer was discussing the orbiting of the earth. A member of the audience said, "Actually, the earth is riding on the back of a turtle." The lecturer said, "Yes, but what is the turtle walking on?" The person in the audience said, "You know perfectly well it's turtles all the way down!" Infinity is turtles all the way down.

  35. Contrary to what the uninformed fella in another thread thinks (bangs-head smiley), I won't waste time there. Records reproduce better sound than cds unless they're scratched up & abused or played on a sub-par rig. Not bad for `73...

If you don't harvest them regularly they can grow quite large. the reason you don't grow rocks from this miraclegrow soil... it has been sterilized. they killed all the seeds.

  44. Welcome to the Klipsch forums! My general advice is for you to get the best center speaker you can afford. My specific advice between those two is to get the RC-62. I am a fan of center speakers with 6"-7" woofers, and the Reference Series is a step above the Reference Premier.
