Been listening to a little Leonard Cohen as of late. "You Want it Darker".

Just curious as to whether or not this is a nationwide thing. With gas prices raising about a dime a day (it seems) I've been watching the price signs at gas stations to see who has the cheapest prices. It seems the common ploy around here is to advertise a really low price on the electronic display. When you get to the pump you see that it's a "cash only" price. Credit card can be as much as 20 cents a gallon more and that's normally how I pay as it's faster than going inside. It started out as one or two stations doing it but the practice is spreading vaster than the Wuhan around here. I'm not a fan.

I am retired now but like any industry doing work for people is always open to negotiation. I gladly gave away my rights to the images to get a higher day rate. That way I didn't have to keep track of what or where the clients were using the images. I shot for swimwear companies, fashion companies, casinos, magazines etc. Companies pay a lot of $$$ in many places to market themselves so photographers have to advocate for themselves. Unfortunately there is almost no $$$$$ in photography anymore.

Hopefully, the photographers are compensated more to not own the images.

Some people replace the glass (with double glazed, the pane that faces into the room) with thicker glass. I think our inner panes are 1/4" or more. It would be best (maybe) if the inner pane was flush with the wall, not set in, without trim that sticks out. That way, not only your realtor, but your contractor, will think you're a bit odd. We searched all over the SF Bay Area for Klipschorn ready homes, then, when we found we could no longer afford that locale, we looked around Oregon for good corners. Found them! We ended up replacing the walls of the Klipschorn room with firmer ones, anyway. This is just a guess, but I would think that obstructions along the walls with the Klipschorn corners for 4 to 6 feet out, would be more important than a little indentation of the windows.

So this is what my final set-up in my living room is about to look like, adding the Heresies. We sit on the floor when watching TV, so the screen is a bit high up. I left a little additional space on the rods, as you can see, so maybe i´m going to shorten them later on. Next project: Update Heresies.
