They are what they are. The smaller caps should drop right in. It’s only the spot for the electrolytic that creates an issue. The easy and acceptable fix is just to use what was originally in there - another electrolytic. Thousands upon thousands of vintage loudspeakers used them with no complaint until people’s ears started being tickled with nonsense. The complaint is ironic considering what people are stuffing in there these days. I used to build them a mile high, lol. I do get what you’re saying, but what I’m beginning to find out is many don’t know how to get their networks out much less know how to work on them. Providing drop in parts won’t help those folks. Some want them worked on, but think Klipsch just wants to lock them into old technology, and prefer faux “upgrades” from another vendor. I’m going to move the resistor to the bottom of the board and use hi temp silicone. This should create plenty of room for the polyester. I may have to use spacers and slightly longer screws.3 points

MC Blue I think Cory is a better dealer than the one you use now. He tries to help you and you cut him down. Not cool dude. If you wanted any regular Corns that would be different. But you want very special ones. You know you could put Lambs wool on yourself I have done it. But like Cory said it its not easy on a Cornwall because of the size of grill. Thats main reason they dont offer it they dont have the time to deal with the problems at the factory.3 points

Yes had a great day with family at our home Wife came home from hospital after the new knee surgery Again I was in charge of the cooking and a new method turned out amazingly My wish is that my Klipsch forum friends enjoy the day with loved ones as I did3 points

we've had a quiet day. The kids came and went. I fixed a venison roast. It came out good. I expect them back for some. gathered up some wood ... put some in the wheelbarrow ... and was coming back to the house when I came across a rattlesnake sunning. Little one. 3 rattles. I guess it hatched last year. It won't see its birthday. It had an unfortunate collision with a shovel. life in the desert3 points

Have a wonderful Christmas Day everyone We in Australia are on average 12 to 15 hours ahead so our day has now passed and wanted to send my wishes to you on the actual day for your part of the world3 points

Merry Christmas my friends. Yes, been a while since my last visit I know. However, what better day to return the on Christmas! 🌲 So, this is my first spin since the UTurn was placed on the Bang and Olufsen system in the livingroom with Klipsch 600M on the stands. This recording was something that I dug out of my mum's library every Christmas morning before opening the gifts which customarily too place after a big breakfast. Burt Kaempfert 'Christmas Wonderland'... No release date, but most likely early 70ies AND monophonic on Decca still covered in original shrink .3 points

For those of you that have a distressed MC2100 or just want to spruce up the one you have, I've got one that's in need of repair and will document what's done to it here: MC2100 restoration (northreadingeng.com) Will provide part numbers of the hardware as I go.2 points

Well, truth be told, I didn´t want a belt-drive... But I could get this chassis cheap, had the plinth custom made and a hood is on the way. This one sounds absolutely great! Now I know for sure somethings amiss with the arm of the 1218... I already have a spare here. I want to change the cables in the arm and swith the 1218 to cinch-plugs. I´m also thinking of having a nwe plinth for that one too.2 points

I believe Dean will agree, the deep orange caps look like that new, epoxy coated. They will crack if ever swelling occurs which should never happen unless something goes terribly wrong upstream with the amplifier. Dean may say replace them with authorized Klipsch replacements but appearance wise they look fine.2 points
-
@Deang Hi Dean , merry christmas to you and your familiy . Would be nice , if you´re online within the next few days to have a look at the 4 uF & 8 uF origin caps on x-over board , they look a little bit puffed up , or do these caps always look like this ? What do you recommend when I´m going to replace them ? Please scroll up , there you can see them better. Thanx2 points

hey , yes , i own the as701 - was considering the as3200 because it had some good reviews while being paired with Klipsch speakers. But after opening this thread i actually think getting a good speaker/amp match will be harder than i tought i guess i will get a few weeks out of the curent setup until i see how the speakers do , then i take in the Sansui's from my brother (he has a very good opinion of them - he used them with diferent german Canton speakers ) for another week or so. Meantime i am still reading alot of reviews , some people say the Yamaha is to "cold" sounding and i should go towards some people that are warmer (Maranz , Luxman etc) , while some are very approving of the AS3200. I found them here at the store , but i dont know if i can return them , if i dont like them , was thinking of testing the as3200 and the Rotel Michi x3 , but well , will see what i can do thanks !2 points

Bert Kaempfert was a German orchestra leader, music producer, arranger and composer. He also appeared briefly under the pseudonyms Raimondo, Bob Parker and Marc Bones. Along with James Last, he is the most successful German orchestra leader after World War II.2 points

Why did you kill it? We have Copperheads around here and they have a bad attitude. I don't kill them. We have Timber Rattlers too. Leave them alone as well. They mean me no harm unless I f*&k with them and I don't. Treat them with a healthy respect. Going on 64 and haven't been bitten yet.2 points

it´s not a dessert here , but we have a lot of Ringneck Snakes living here. When I mow the lawn, it happens from time to time that a snake is in the lawn. Unfortunately, they do not survive the sharp blades of the lawn mower.2 points

It’s good to be planning for the future, but how long will you be staying in your current home? If it’s a few months or less, and you’ll be moving into a bigger space, do whatever seems right for that space, because any annoyances about space where you live now will soon be over. On the other hand, are you in a hurry to upgrade? Maybe just keep your present system for now, and keep putting money aside for your “final” system. That way, you’ll be in a better position to see what does work in your new room, instead of hauling in the speakers that you figured “should” work in the room. As for Cornwalls, they can be turned on their sides and still sound fine. They used to actually come in vertical or horizontal models, to suit their individual situations. You mentioned that you currently have “ACA’s” for left and right speakers. What are they? We (some of us, anyway) don’t mind these threads, because it’s always fun to help somebody spend their money.2 points

All it takes is to stumble onto a hive and disturb them. Life is dangerous and your safety is your own responsibility...no one else's. Learn and act accordingly. You live somewhere we weren't meant to live. Too easy to die in the desert.1 point

tbh of all the critters we have... ... the one/s that scare me is/are the Africanized Honeybees. ... and 99% of the feral colonies are. If they decide you are the enemy, you are in serious trouble1 point

Thanks for the confirmation and all the tips! The 1000A looks like a pretty sweet setup as well, but it seems that a 750A will drive 2 pair just fine in my tests.1 point

Literally your entire thread was in regards to trying to buy speakers that were in an ad of mine. Don't act like I'm twisting and doing shady stuff. I'm just answering questions that you and others asked. You're just zero'ing in on one line that was a lame attempt at humor. I don't really want to sell the demo ones. They are set up in my showroom and look great in there, and if I sell these at a discount I'd just end up buying more new ones and barely break even which doesn't make much sense. I was obviously hoping that somebody would just order new ones if they want them but these are available. I have literally turned down a $7,500 offer in the past when I first got them.1 point

@Tarheelsometime when ya get creative put the finishing touch to it. Slice and dice some carrots, celery and onion for in the catch pan. Then pour a small bottle of Mateus over the roast, cover and fire things up. Let it go for a few hours in the oven basting whenever just don't ignore it. Crazy what a few veggies and a bottle of Mateus can do to a standing rib.. It'll make those apple plates look stellar!1 point

And you as well, Merry Christmas to you and yours. Tonight is the last night of Hanukkah, I like it as all the candles are lit. My wife's brother (a Christian) is coming for dinner so we are doing a blended event, I'm making a full on proper Christmas turkey dinner and will pull out my Vince Guaraldi Trio Charlie Brown Christmas and Tony Bennet Christmas CDs for play.1 point

The electrolytic is parallel to the woofer so not in the signal path. FWIW, Roy had said to use an electrolytic and not go to a film or poly cap as it would not make a difference ( I am assuming the last part). I just went with electrolytic from Parts Express.1 point

Would go with Heresy or at least Forte 2 for size, keeping in mind the passive rear. Maybe even pro or Chorus, LaScala. Welcome back...1 point

My Lifetime experience dealing with audio says , if you´ve got something new whatever it is , after 5 to 6 hours from first time operation the gear must show it´s performance , if not put it back in the box and return it to your soleagent . I´can tell you now, after restoration from the KG 3.5 with origin x-over , its worth to restore them . For their size and concept, they´re amazing speakers ,can compete in a much higher price ranges . Brilliant what Klipsch had developed more than 20 years ago ! The only thing that I will do in the near future is a refresh from the caps .1 point

Roger was his name? Yes, he was a real contributor to the Forum. He’ll be missed by many of us. And those speakers are beautiful! They’ll really be something to remember him by for years to come.1 point
