  12. @MicroMara I agree, I agree. THAT comment came outta Beck's mouth not mine. He was enjoying where the two were heading. That's why he brought him along on that last tour. Peeps I know that saw him said Depp wasn't too bad but Beck carried him. Dunno, can't ask him why now.

  20. @GWSmith room looks great Gary. Did a magic carpet in here over oak floors. Ya solved a problem too. When my eye hit your speakers I had another vision. Yup, won't be long and Imma gonna do it. I'm just about out of album space in here and I've got to free up wall space somewhere. So why not fly my old RBLS? Yup, might free up another 20' or so of shelving. Could I? Yep. Would I? Yep. I've done dumber things. 😂 Sure, I'm spinnin and it's soundin crazy good. These two sisters are slayin it on tour right now. Yup, better pick this one up sports fans. Larkin Poe is an American roots rock band originally from north Georgia, currently based in Nashville, Tennessee,[1] and fronted by sisters Rebecca Lovell (born January 30, 1991) and Megan Lovell (born May 12, 1989). Featuring strong southern harmonies, heavy electric guitar riffs, and slide guitar, they are often touted as "the little sisters of the Allman Brothers".[2]

  25. i have them in the corners on the long wall...ill post a pic later tonight. i have to wait till Feb 6 to disassemble the pool table so that's kind of a buzz kill but with everything in disarray i quickly hooked them up to my Anthem 225 integrated (with stock x-overs) just to see how they sounded and it was freaking glorious....even my 3 year old commented on how good they sounded haha I'm going to focus on treating the room now since the floor is laminate. Its a tad bright but that's to be expected

  31. Not sure how Feng Shui it is.. Indeed, I'm not sure I'll ever understand exactly what it means. But I'll make a pitch for making your system as visually appealing to your SO as absolutely possible. By making my system look nice and tidy - no tangle of cords everywhere, no open rack of components, etc. - my lovely wife has always encouraged me to have the system in our family room. Consequently, the whole family hears what I'm listening to, and I hear what they cue up (all CD's ripped into a music server, and Roon/Tidal the past few years). Not to be too precious about it, but it really has helped make our family close. IMHO, music is best enjoyed as a shared experience. When I see my kids put on their headphones, I'll ask what they're listening to, then encourage them to cue it up on the family system. ..And I don't have headphones, so it's the main system or nothing. It's important to ALWAYS find something to like about what they're listening to. You get nowhere criticizing what others - particularly your kids - like.

  32. The K691 was the last version used, later built Jubes. The K69 was used in earlier models I believe. The 691 is also used in the newer 396 models with the “mumps” 510 horn. And someone correct me if I’m mistaken, the 691 is manufactured by B&C?

  33. Just made a deal with someone for a Marantz AV7704. Hopefully I have it by next weekend. There is some hardware that's less superior such as the DAC and transformer than the AV8802a, but there are some slightly better software packages that it comes with right out of the box. Plus it was $400 less.

  35. Not much about this on the news... c/p asteroid 2023 BU Most asteroids pass beyond the distance of the Moon. This one is far closer. On Thursday, Jan. 26 at 21:17 Universal Time (16:17 EST) asteroid 2023 BU will get to within 6,137 miles/9,877 kilometers of Earth's center. That's only about 2,178 miles/3,506 kilometers above its surface.

  38. Hello Friends! Ok, went through 3 pages back, left my laughs and likes . Today while cleaning and other house chores, I decided to dig up an LP I had not played in a while. All because I was watching one of my youTube audio reviewers this morning, and he was playing a Joan Armatrading tune. So, brought up the A&M / Altec Lansing demo LP from the Music Hall and put it on the livingroom system.

  46. The most negative Feng Shui-type WAF I've heard of was one guy's wife that disliked his La Scalas, because to her, the Vees of the bass bin doghouses looked like "poison arrows" aimed at her. He kept them anyway.
