  3. From next week Iĺl have three weeks vacation, finally!! Next stage of my shelve-enhancement will commence... Just a tiny step, but I´ll get there. Right now it will hold my collection of LPs. But that´s the good thing about how these shelves are constructed. I can always move them up and down or swap out individual parts and make room for further gear and stuff that might come up.

  4. You don't need to wait until Spring to find out everything you want to know about the Heritage Subwoofers, @Chief bonehead and the Klipsch Museum of Audio History will be doing a Subfest (A Chief Bonehead Class) on November 10th in the lab and Museum facilities in Hope. More information will be posted in the Museum Section of the Forum in the next couple of days. Save that date, and stay tuned. Travis

  5. I have done the test between a RC 3, a RC 7, a RC 7 with dean X-over upgrade and the RC-64. No need to say the RC 3 was not in the same league. The normal RC 7 is not as smooth as RC 64 but it is more revealing and little more harsh. I could hardly hear a difference between the RC 7 with the X-over upgrade and the RC 64. You will not be disappointed with either one regardless. One thing I rarely see being discussed is the fact that the RC7 is a ported speaker and the RC 64 is not. I did noticed a differeence in the bass, the RC 7 being better to me.

  7. Almost forgot this part, your right it is nice to talk about this stuff, it is how I learned over the years, even if there is MUCH more I have no idea about than I think I know.

  8. I can say from experience that a horn sub provides an experience that is unlike any other sub that I've ever heard or felt. Pretty awesome that Klipsch is adding them to their lineup!

  10. You would need a bigger house or maybe get Karen Drunk first before the investment!

  12. My assessment of the same speakers reviews here matches exactly. I will also add that the RC-64 and RC-64ii do not produce the same “kick in the chest” impact as the RC-7 during intense military movie scenes. For sure, The RC-7 is special - a gem of Klipsch engineering - and I would like to see Klipsch bring this one back into production! Fortunately you can still find these used for $400, significantly less expensive than a the newest center flagship RC-64 iterations. I now have 3 of these and still need to sell off my RC-64ii and replace with a fourth RC-7. Cheers!

  13. I heard the largest of the 3 sizes comes with a shoehorn. There is a regular, large, and extra large. Not sure of the official designations.

  14. Car-pool, we had about 4 or 5 from that area for the class in 2019 Bruce. Bring your son @Invidiosulus, or better yet, make him drive. It's going to be a fun time! Lots of surprises.

  17. Correct neutral is BONDED to ground, that's what electricians call it. And if I measured an open between neutral and ground at an outlet I would check it.

  18. Class reunions are always bittersweet. Only 176 in my class here and everyone had their own gaggle. Somehow I got the entire class list dumped on me for our 25th and spent mega bucks and tons of hours FINDING almost everyone in out graduating class. My phone bills were nuts but I got 'em. I worked every angle w/the USPS to get addresses. The USPS is better than the IRS if ya stop and think about it. Ya GOTTA get your Xmas cards right? THEN after I'd done the work and pulled it off ppl would notify me if they moved. Easy peasy UNTIL a few of the fem "movers & shakers" decided THEY were gonna do it. Ok cool here's the list. Today about 15 of us get together somewhere for brunch about every other month while listening to the fems blowing about their latest trip to Europe. Bleh, it is what it is. Gotta have that one though in EVERY class. I tagged her w/the "grim reaper" handle. She doesn't miss an obit. It's like she thrives on posting them to our class site on FB then she's even kind enough to hit everyone's inbox w/an email on it. lol I'm STILL saving my money for the cruise to Tahiti one of 'em mentioned. As if. 😂 😎 All's well in Duckburg 'til the festival begins tomorrow at high noon w/the Queen taking that cerimonial first bite of a bratwurst sammich to kick things off. Three days of insanity. Think I'll go mow the yard. 😂

  20. Dang! These things weigh a TON. At $499 it is an amazing lot of speaker. My office/project room/bat cave/getaway needed an uplift from my tired old Andrew Jones bookshelfs from 10 years ago. A woofer started to rub - that was it. I've only had these a few days, but they have already impressed me - just using an old Yamaha receiver. I have some other gear I will try too. Did I mention how heavy these things are? 👍

  21. I had never made any h.s. reunions, but started hitting email for the 50th... something lse came up so we didn't go. Two years later they decided to have a 70th birthday party for those who didn't get to the 50th. Chattanooga to Peoria in one day... wasn't too bad. There were 510 people in my class, I wasn't an athlete or outstanding student, nor a troublemaker. This means I was pretty invisible so only a few at the party even remembered me. They DID remember my dad who was one of the coaches and taught civics... and driver ed in the summer. The class pres. was there and remembered me. He was always nice... His third cancer relapse happened the next year and he's gone. First night (friday) was at a local pizza place that was there when we were in school. Each bought their own food and drink. Saturday night was and a well known supper club, that the committee funded. Really had a nice time. It was fun to chat with folks you may not have got along with, but at this point the cliques don't exist. About 10 to 15 have passed away in the past four years.
