  1. I believe that used heritage speakers are reflecting their true value . For many years they had been wrongly viewed by some as ancient , old school technology , but recently , people are taking another look , and showing renewed respect. Respect is what they deserve , as many benefits are to be found in these horn loaded speakers . . Competing manufacturers , tend to offer only paper cone “type” drivers in their products , these type of speakers can’t fully compete with the many desirable characteristics that a good horn loaded speaker can deliver on. Many people are fine with paying a bit of a premium for the upgraded clarity (realism)dynamics and the efficiency that a good horn loaded speaker can deliver . Klipsch heritage is a unique item , finely built, made in USA , well worth their price🤓

Tender and sort of crisp, like an apple. was wife's idea to do them on the bbq . "Easier" she sez. which translates to, it IS easier for her, because I'm the one doing it ...

  7. Thank you all for your feedback and advice. I decided that I'm going to pass on the 6000Fs. I'm leaning toward picking up a pair of the 600s though. I figure I could buy those, move the 41s to my surrounds (my current surround speakers are pretty bare bones), and have some money leftover to put toward movies.

  9. Richard, you have a thyratron. Its uses are described under “typical circuits” section of the data sheet. It really has no use in audio equipment but may have some value to collectors of old WE stuff. Maynard

  10. I picked mine up years ago for $400 to play with my other two HGS-15's supporting a trio of La Scala's. The servo in these units ensure extremely low clean distortion free bass as it monitors cone movement thousands of time a second. Yes they are old but even the new Klipsch subs can't dig as deep regardless of what the specifications indicate. I owned one Klipsch subwoofer a KSW-15 that I bought new and it was a POS. Boxed in back up and sold it. The only worthwhile subs Klipsch has ever produced are the RSW line and the THX Ultra's. The rest are mediocre at best and the self destructing plate amp issues have plagued Klipsch for years. However, the eBay asking price is well beyond optimistic maybe $500 to $800 tops if it is in perfect working order. If the servo circuit goes in these getting it repaired will be difficult as the woofer and amp need to be sent together in order to calibrate the servo properly if you can find someone to repair it as Velodyne no longer services these.

  13. We had a cat show up on our back porch on day. A dog had chased and it managed to hide there. We couldn't find the owner, so we got it checked out at the vets. The cat was a mix, part tabby (a faint M on his forehead) and looked like a Siamese but plump. The vet said maybe Burmese, IIRC. Thought he was around five years old. He was a terrific pet, very sweet. It was pretty digital amerams, but I know I've scanned at least on of the prints. H lived a long time. That was the only sad thing about moving from the old house, as both our cats were buried there. Maybe not the only thing... we had over 3 acres.

  21. Can someone please explain why the Heritage line of speakers has become so crazy for used speaker pricing. I understand asking price vs. actual sale price (it's not where you start but where you end up) but c'mon people asking a couple grand for Chorus II's or $2k for a pair of Quartets? What's up??? RG

  22. Alright first off I am extremely new to this industry, sorry in advance for the silly questions. I am looking forward to buying a pair of RP600 II's and a RP1400SW. Now heres where I got confused. 1) These are the terminals on the bookshelf speakers, Usually I have seen 2 terminals (+), (-) for passive speakers. Here, there are 4 terminals. I can see 2 (+)'s and 2 (-)'s. I am guessing they are separate for the tweeter and the sub. So do I need a Y splitter to give power to the 2? Since I am intending to use this amp: Fosi Audio BL20C which has 2 outputs (left & right) and a sub out. If a Y splitter is not needed then which of these terminals do I connect to the "L" or "H"? 2) As mentioned above, I intend to use that amp but its rated for 160W for each channel and in the spec sheet the RP600's are rated for 100W constantly only, so I am afraid I might burnt the coils since the amp does not have a screen to tell me how many watts its outputting. Will they be fine at max volume or should I get a different amp? Also I am open to any amp suggestions as long as its about $500 and compact, since this is not for a home theatre but a desktop setup. I need to amp to sit on the desk without taking up too much space. But if other big amps are good I won't mind as long as I am not destroying the speakers in anyway. Also a LFE output from the amp would be nice since the RP1400SW support that. This is the amp output. Also the sub out is just a Y split to the L & R on the RP1400SW right? Thats about it, thanks for reading!

  23. @dopeihope2 possibilities here . -the AK-2 were plagued with corrosion of the old monster style wiring , the corrosion occurs between the clear plastic jacket and the copper wire , discard the old wire end to end , remove all traces of the old solder . -a dirty voice coil gap or a worn out VC can also cause a grainy sound , remove the 4 screws , slowly , gently separate the magnet assembly , clean the VC gap , retest .

  34. Prices are up on everything, so that doesn’t help. The main 2 contributors in my opinion are: #1 The price of new heritage. #2 More people realize how good older Klipsch Heritage is. What can you buy new that comes close to a pair of Chorus?

  36. Well, I have to say the total lack of interest in this has surprised me. Has the Klipsch crowd lost its way? I mean the rule around here used to be Tubes and Klipsch are a match made in heaven. I guess I'll have to raise the price $200 or so take it where I hate selling Fleabay.... I'll give it the rest of today around here before doing so!

  38. That sub, has 800 Watts RMS, PEAK 1600...... Has nothing compared to the HGS18THX Ultra 2, 1250 watts RMS peak 3000 watts. plus that Klipsch can't do 20 hz, with a ported box. so for the price, I would say no.

  43. Greetings~ I'm a novice who appreciates a quality sound system. I have slowly pieced my home theater a little at a time. I need help setting my speaker levels via my receiver. I have it all hooked up but I am not getting that wow factor. I think my levels are off. I did the auto set up with the microphone. I wasn't pleased with the sound it recommended. I am not sure what to set the levels to. I would like to achieve optimum levels that my system can produce. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Listed below is my system RECEIVER=ONKYO TX-SR807 FRONT TOWERS (PAIR)=WF-35 CENTER=WC-24 REAR SURROUND (PAIR)= VF-36 FRONT WIDE= B-2 SUB= SUB10 Respect~ FMI
