  1. Have fun with them , sure your living room is big enough to be changed into a soundwaves high pressure compression chamber 🤣 Because my listening room isn´t that big as the old one I had to rethink about my RF7 Evos , 4 active parallel switched 10" woofer were to much , the mids , hights and brilliance weren´t that clear as before because of too much bassvolume, I made an experiment with 2 active 10" and 2 passive 10" ( they only resonate in the low frequency level due to the air mass flow of the active 10" ) and I closed the above rear fire port and kept the second open. Man I can tell you , now the bassvolume is under control , very cleanly staggered and the above soundstage is as good as it was in my old bigger listening room , sometimes.....less is more 😁 Will be a long day for me , at 9.am , so in 2 hours and 18 minutes , I´m driving to the german north sea beaches with my car for eating some fresh fish there 😂I´m not kidding ....will be a three and a half hour drive and I will be guided by two female friends ....we´ll return late evinging ..sure it will be a nice day , will take some pics as will and gonna show you tomorrow

  3. I had some coffee this afternoon. It was weird to have 20 ounces of coffee fill two 16 oz mugs. Well it's because I spiked 'em with fresh eggnog and what it's normally spiked with. That calmed me down for a couple hours because I was irate with the extraordinary things going on trying to close on my new place. That is not me labeling them extraordinary. That's the pros that I'm working with. So I'm riding into town tomorrow and believe it's going to happen from what I was told late today! Then I can plan this little bitty den around my Forte IIIs plus one or two good subs. Thank you brother Dave for your opinions, they're quite good sometimes!

  4. A female Aussie friend turned me on to Tal long, long ago. I told a local friend who was great on bass about her and he couldn't get enough of her. That had to be 25 years ago or more. She was like a 16 year old kid back then but never stopped playing. Asked permission from her parents to move to the US to learn more and she's learned from the best in the business. 2007 was post divorce and I needed outta Ohio so I called a friend and asked about something or ANYthing to do. She said Crossroads was happening in Chicago and next thing I knew I had all area credentials for the entire place. Yup, slept in a semi-trailer and spent a lot of time sittin on hard road cases watching it all happen and winkin at some old friends. Beck was Beck back in the day. The biggest whiner you'd ever wanna meet BUT he was so darn good and then I heard Tal was w/him? One of her first big gigs and she totally nailed it. Jeff was giddy as all get out when they were done but we all knew goin in that she was gonna kill it. Kill it she did. Nailed the coffin shut to boot. She's herself in her lyrics and when she plays it's the same way. She's busted her rear getting where she is today. That's one lil girl I'll always admire. She goes so deep it's scary when she starts. Don't think that will ever change with her. Classy AND sassy! lol

  6. Pretty hard because the veneer is thin and the black paint likes to bleed into other layers. I do like raw birch though.

  7. This piece with Herbie Hancock shows that Tal belongs to the top class of all bassists ever. The tune is one of my absolute favourites for the desert island in the original with the headhunters, but this new version of "Actual Proof", completely modernised and adapted to the development of the music in our time, made my jaw drop. not only Tal but what a play together by the band. It looks to be the same drummer as with Jeff Beck in the video above, Vinnie Colaiuta.

  12. Problem solved. The no picture, sound was not an avr problem. The Roku 4k stick was bad. The Roku interacts with the CEC (ARC, HDMI Control All, etc) on some AVR's depending on monitor age and avr age.

  16. I have her album. I was not impressed with her songwriting. However, she is clearly a talented bass player, sort of along the lines of Victor Wooten, and I think her strength is playing bass for others. That Jeff Beck chose her is certification enough for me.

  20. There is a reason that the forte line has been the best-selling Klipsch Heritage model since its inception, back in 1985. What sub are you using? I have owned forte II for over 30 years, and now own forte IV. From a music standpoint, a sub is not really required unless you are looking for the lowest octave in organ music, etc. The forte bass is very punchy, and although it struggles below 35-38HZ, it almost sounds an octave lower due to no distortion. If the speakers will be dual use for movies etc. it is still debatable as to whether a sub is needed, unless you are looking for sub terranean bass. Purchase the forte IV and you will be set for the next 30 plus years. Do not discount a nice used pair. I bought a month-old perfect condition with boxes and inserts, etc. for 2K less than new.

  27. I share your impression, her own band projects or song writing is a different animal, it even does not need her virtuosity on the bass. Anyway if she likes it why not.

Not vinyl, but finally my system stands with functioning tuner: Ready for the future: As more and more radio-stations in Germany are switching over to digital radio, I´ve had the KT 7550 modified with this DAB circuit. I can still switch over to FM radio. Reception is excellent in both modes. Happy

  33. Awwww why? All of us ballers up this way been saying this for years. Why ya think we calll it ESecPN up here? We ALL knew ole Nickie was gonna get Bama in one way or another! IF you can be honest with yourself you saw it coming too! Silly Humans! 😂 😎 Corrigan Collusion: The Head Of The College Football Playoff Committee And The VP Of Production At ESPN Are Brothers John Rich12/08/2023 5:16 PM BREAKING: Bombshell Evidence has come out linking the CFP Committee's Head Chair to ESPN... The Head of the College Football Playoff Committee is NC State Wolfpack AD Boo Corrigan. Corrigan's already been criticized for his bias against FSU as a fellow ACC Athletic Director. 0 Now here's where it gets even WEIRDER... Boo's brother is Tim Corrigan, the VP of Production at ESPN Given ESPN's close ties to the SEC, it would've benefitted the company to steal Florida State's Playoff spot & give it to Alabama... It's already troubling how closely intertwined the CFP Committee & ESPN are organizations... but we didn't know there were FAMILY TIES between the executives of the two organizations Was there 'Corrigan Collusion', or was this all just a coincidence? Kinda funny. I remember OSU winning a Natty one year with a third string QB. So now there's one heck of a QB w/a broken leg who, along with his teammate's and Uni are deprived of a chance to play as one of the top 4 in the country? Ole Nicky has his team in there though. THAT you can take to the bank.

  34. I was just thinking, I also use a big sub with those so it all takes up alot of space. 3 speakers about 6' wide each, it can only happen because the room is 24' wide. Now there is a new speaker that could replace all 3 including the sub, it's the new Jubilee. Much smaller footprint and great performance, honestly I was surprised how it sounded when I heard it properly set up, and NO sub needed.

  36. Guiness is my top choice. Tasty, smooth and never a hang over. Good old Yeungling Lager, which used to be dirt cheap before it became so popular. Hop Devil, Becks, Bittburger (good, cheap German beer), Straub. Really liked Molson Export Ale but I can't find it in Pennsylvania any longer. McEwans Scotch Ale is also very pleasing, but very, very heavy. The one beer to have if you're only having one.

  37. When I first posed the question of who are/were the greatest rock drummers, I was looking at it in several different ways. The question is, how does one define greatness? Is it technical skill, virtuossity, popularity, influence, personality, showmanship, inspiration or a dozen other adjectives that don't come to mind? I tried to look at the big picture from my perspective as a 45 year old garage musician who grew up dreaming of being Ringo Starr, Charlie Watts, John Bonham...... and playing to thousands of adoring fans who could care less if you stunk up the stage with that particular performance!!! They would cheer even if you played half the song in the wrong time or in the wrong key! If you look at this from a musician point of view, you will come up with technically adept, fast, pounding drummers who don't miss a lick. Even the sweat pouring off their brow stays in time! But if you are looking for greatness, look beyond the technical and look to those who inspired millions with their playing and yet were the perfect fit for the best bands to ever hit the stage! I will go out on a limb and say that Ringo Starr inspired more people, mainly kids, to take up playing the drums and who, more than anything else, wanted to be the next Ringo! Call it timing, call it fate, call it what you want, but the fact of the matter is, he was the inspiration of an entire generation of drummers, maybe not pros, but drummers! If that is not greatness than I don't what is!

  38. I picked up Satantic Majesties Request last week, and it was a revelation. It was worth the money just to hear "She's a Rainbow". The attack and decay and instrument plotting is 10x better than the LP. I fully intend on picking up a BUNCH of these remasters. ---------------- On 8/11/2005 9:01:52 PM dragonfyr wrote: The remasters of the Stones were quite a shock for many, as they ignored the fact that Jimmy Miller intentionally muddied their mix as part of the production. So when the parts are presented in a clear pristine fashion alot of folks were horrified that an original production element was eliminated. Not to mention the difference in sound! In other words, it was like Ted Turner colorizing all the movies whose directors COULD have made them in color had they chosen, but they intentionally shot them in black and white. That is a real potential problem if not using the same engineer to remaster... There is cleaning them up and pulling parts out of the mud, and there is changing the original intent of the artist. I like the first approach! ----------------

  39. This was my Charger, lovely puke green color and all! http://www.martinpacker.com/classic-cars/dodge-charger/1973-dodge-charger-2.htm I stand corrected. Evidently the Charger SRT-8 WILL have the same HP as the original Hemi. 425hp. Impressive. $39,000 is a steal for this level of performance.

  40. The Charger looks better than the new GTO, which looks like a big Accord to me. But as noted, it doesn't look like a Charger at all. It should be law that you cannot use a classic nameplate to hawk a new car design. Chargers DID handle sloppy, but they were definately fast, especially the Hemi's which would crush the new "hemi" mercilessly. Do they offer the Hemi Orange or the Puke Green color options? Hopefully my 70 Trans Am will be done before summer ends. I think I can get the Ram Air III to put out 400hp and 500 ft/lb within my budget. Show these poseurs what a real muscle car is. (lots of power, am mono radio, 2/55 air conditioning and an interior noise level of 110db). Then onto restoring the body and interior, which is my DIY project. These new cars like the GTO and Charger are very, very nice and a refreshing change, but come up with a new name. They share very little with their namesakes. At least the new 300 is similar to the original. A big family/luxury car with some punch.

  41. Has anyone used a DVD-A title on a regular DVD player? How is the sound of the lower rez layer? There are a few titles I wouldn't mind picking up to replace some of the brutal CDs from the 80s. Anyone have any experience with DVD-A in general? Is it worth picking up a cheap player (don't want to put too much into it, as I see "Betamax" or "DCC" written all over the fomat)?

  43. The digital output is a moot point, my reciever only has 2-channels, all analouge baby. Ultimately I'm wondering if the DVD-VIDEO 48/24 layers on these DVD-As is worth the price? I suppose I could just cough up the $14 and find out.

  46. Kenyan coffee is killer, as is the aforemention Kona from Hawaii. As much as I hate to admit it, Starbucks regular coffee is pretty good. I just love to go into Starbucks and order a "large coffee". Poor employees look like deer in the headlights. You couldn't pay me to say "Venti". For everyday use I get Maxwell House French Roast, otherwise I'd be in the poor house. I'm pretty sure I've mutated my DNA with caffine by now. I urge you all to try using a percolater rather than a drip machine. Much more flavorful in my opinion. Pain in the arse to clean though.

  47. Top to bottom the Big 10 is the best conference in the country. At least our athletes have to beable to read, unlike the SEC. It's good to have Michigan back on the schedule again, although we'll probably get our asses kicked this year. After 1994 I thought we'd be ruling the Big 10, shows what I knew. All PSU needs to do is score more than 21 points a game, and they'll be fine. The defense is spectacular. PSU going to the Big 10 was mainly about academics since the Big 10 Schools have the reputation and facilities that are comparable to PSU. It was also about finding a home for our outstanding non-revenue teams like Gymnastics, Swimming, Fencing, Wrestling and girls Basketball. Paterno tried to get a Big East conference for years but could never get everyone on board, particularly Syracuse. He tried to get Syracuse, Rutgers, Temple, BC, Pitt, Notre Dame, WVU, Miami to form a Big East ten years before it happened. The Big 10 was too good an opportunity to pass up. If we could get ND to agree to a Big10 football agreement, that would be awsome since so many Big 10 teams already have a rivalry with them. Academically Notre Dame definately does not fit into the Big 10.
