  2. Rush - Live in Cleveland? No brainer for me! The Time Machine Tour was a concert tour by the Canadian rock band Rush that began on June 29, 2010 in Albuquerque, New Mexico and ended July 2, 2011 at The Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Washington. The tour was notable for featuring the album Moving Pictures played in its entirety for the first time live, as well as material from the band's then upcoming studio album Clockwork Angels (i.e. the songs "Caravan" and "BU2B", which had been released as a single in early June 2010).[1][2] This tour is one of three where the setlist has been consistent throughout the entire tour, the others being the 1987 Hold Your Fire tour and the 2004 R30: 30th Anniversary Tour. This is also the first Rush tour to not include any songs from Roll the Bones in the set list since that album was released in 1991. As a tribute to the city that first played their music on the radio, the Cleveland performance at Quicken Loans Arena on April 15, 2011 was recorded/filmed and released as a DVD, Blu-ray, and double CD titled Time Machine 2011: Live in Cleveland. This is the first official full-length live performance filming of Rush in the United States.[3][4] :)

  3. All the World's a Stage is a double live album by Canadian rock band Rush, released in 1976. The album was recorded at Massey Hall in Toronto on June 11 through 13 during their 2112 tour. Similar to the track "Limelight" from 1981's album Moving Pictures, the title of this album alludes to William Shakespeare's play As You Like It. According to the liner notes, this live album (Rush's first) marks the end of the "first chapter of Rush," and would mark the start of a trend of releasing a live album after each four studio album cycle. Songs like "Bastille Day" and "Anthem" are similar to their studio versions with the addition of Neil Peart's drum solo during "Working Man".

  5. Hello, hello friends! Great music you are all enjoying this morning/afternoon. Ok, I am going to join you in a bit with my Linda Ronstadt TRIPLE play. BUT, since you were all following the speaker rebuild story, I wanted to let you know..... The CAPS finally came in yesterday and installed, and walnut veneer got their second coat of orange oil. Here are 3 photos. Simple cap job DONE. On the stands with and without grills. Enjoy, and I will return after some around the home puttering. And yes, for an old pair of speakers, it is amazing how nice a 12" 2-way system still delivers MUSIC !

  7. @Deang In the decade or so I’ve been following this forum you have always been the catalyst for progress and knowledge. Sometimes at the expense of a few battle scars, but always emerging as a rational voice. I would just like to take this opportunity to thank you for your DECADES of positive contributions. None of these forums would be the same without you.

  10. Hi Jim, Sounds like you are just saying the current version of the PD5-VH can’t play as high as the older single phase plug versions. However, their current data sheet is exactly the same as the one that they’ve been using for as long as I can remember. At any rate, I have no reason to doubt your word. It’s interesting. As for the collapsing verticals - if that’s not true, then Klipsch misinformed me. Person shall remain anonymous unless they prefer to reveal themselves and clarify. There is always the possibility I misunderstood.

  14. That veneer is especially nice. Not many companies do the grain matching though. @AndreG. That's an early copy of that fantastic RUSH LP!! Do not know how the cover could be controversial, but it was made boring a few years later.

  15. Good afternoon all. As promised, it is now time to relax with this set of Linda / Riddle LPs. I bought these at different times off eBay, all were SEALED new old stock. It really is nice to sit back after a week of anticipation to finish a speaker project and enjoy the music now that it is finally done and realized. Here we go! 'Whats New' now playing, and the inner sleeve artwork. ......The Superscope S-212's in position. These things are efficient, yet that 12" handling the bass/midrange is really a velvety sound and that old school paper cone/dome tweeter sits nicely on top.

  17. “K-55-M hotter”. That was addressed in a very long thread that eventually got moved into the historical section. That myth was busted by John Allen, and I confirmed it with Jim Hunter. Only the engineering samples were hotter, when the production samples arrived, they were the same sensitivity as the K-55-V. That doesn’t mean the frequency response was identical. People get confused by this. You can have variations in frequency response, but still have the same sensitivity. This is why it is important to use the right driver with the right network. This was also confirmed with Jim Hunter and Roy. Mike Boxler was kind enough to confirm all of this with measurements because he was tired of watching me agonize over it.

  18. The old K-55-V reached 6kHz because of the collapsing verticals of the K-400 horn. Like Mike pointed out, it’s doing it, but it’s not happy about it. This is the primary reason Roy lowered the crossover point. The driver is beaming, and not providing a smooth power response (polars aren’t lining up). On the Atlas spec sheet for the PD5-VH, they tell you that the frequency response was taken using a plane wave tube, not on a horn - and that if you want to know what the driver is doing, you need to put it on the horn of your choice and measure it.

  19. In that plot, the single port phase plug version is in red. It’s “hotter” than the K-55-M, which is in blue. This is the opposite of what you claimed. Do you have an explanation?

  20. After all that drama, I forgot to answer the other part of your question... 1) Either add a 10uf to 12uf capacitor in parallel with the main high pass capacitor, or replace it with a 12uf to 14uf. 2) Move the K55V to tap 4 of the T2A. 3) Move the K77M to tap 5 of the T2A. 4) Change the K55V and K77M polarities back to normal. 5) On the tweeter filter, add a parallel 245uf inductor and second 2uf capacitor. Please excuse my poor illustration 😀

  23. Well, it’s been about three months and I thought it was about time I share a small review after giving a lot of hours listening to the 396s…I really believe that sound is a muscle memory and anything different can seem better, worse, or just different. So I believe it needs time to give a good true impression… First things first the 396s are just fantastic speakers.…. They are definitely right there with the KPT904s… especially in the voice (wow just wow)… I know a lot of you that have time with the 510 or better (402) know what I’m talking about…. the 510 is so much better than other commercial speaker drivers I’ve heard... It’s really hilarious.. I have owned so many speakers, and they just wipe the floor with them. So I have been pushing them mostly with just normal listening level music, movies, tv, and even a lot of basic podcasts….I work remote, and spend most of my time in the room they are sitting in (these speakers do not collect dust). I have also opened them way up with music, and movies as well and they sound amazing on everything…I have said this in other posts (and forums), but it’s worth repeating…the VOICE … right away you hear it. It’s so big compared to other speakers… for example I would go to the movie theatre, and I would hear that giant voice. That was the one thing in the home that I missed… I could replicate the bass…I could replicate the surround-sound, but the voice was always smaller. Only the 904s, and the 396s (510s) match that in the speakers that I have owned. For as good as La Scala sound, they don’t have that, the RF7s they don’t have that, the Cornwalls they don’t have that etc. etc. Spending $3500 on a pair of speakers Is a ton of money, especially when I think back to what I would spend 20 years ago….I can’t necessarily say that they’re better than a $1000 pair of speakers when you’re talking bang for buck (everyone’s ears, and wallets are different). But as I sit here today writing this review I couldn’t be happier….. Well done Klipsch.

  24. Well a deal came up I couldn't pass up on a brand new pair they shipped out today. I've wanted a pair since they were introduced but waited patiently for the right deal. Should be interesting to compare them to the new 362's and others I have sitting around.

  25. Hi ‘ m a newbie… I have opportunity to buy a pair of Kp 301 original made in 1988. They have new caps and everything else is supposed to work fine. I can use advice from this great group on the following: Does $850 seem like a good price? Would a Denon avr with 125w per channel power this well? (X4500H) Finally if I converted the back panel to a 5 way post and wired for bi amp, would like reduce the resale value? Attaching a picture. I have not listened, but would be buying from a guy that says the sounds good, and he currently also owns la scalas. Says they have been recapped, and sound great Thanks!

  27. I have no idea why they changed it. Bikinis show more than that! Or was it the dude getting ready to get taken out by the huge violent wave? But I got that record before they even came to town after it's release!

  29. Moving on to 'Lush Life'. All 3 of these recordings are outstanding!, the liner notes are aplenty with info on the mixing / engineering and arrangements involved. These pics are of the 'motion' album cover and inner sleeve, and SIDE A on the UTurn.

  38. You did nothing wrong. There has been a troll who has crapped in countless threads and it had been tiresome for WAY too long. There is a little more to the story, but you had nothing to do with any of it. I sent you a PM earlier. Did you see it?

  39. Yeah, he has edited his post, at least once. You have been on this forum for 24 years. You've been a lot of help to many people who needed it, both in the technical field and a lot of comic relief. I sure hate that it came to this, especially since it was avoidable.

  40. Bad idea. Wrong network for the drivers he is using. You have been told this at least a half dozen times. Also, JEM “has no missing parts”, only I do. I think I am done with this nonsense along with everything else that has come with it. @Chief bonehead Please remove me as a Klipsch Authorized builder.
