  1. 100% pure water in a plaster lined swimming pool will slowly dissolve the plaster. That is one of the reasons why pool water is treated to maintain a pH balance. Purified water as part of a healthy diet and lifestyle will maintain a proper balance in your body.
  2. @OilyBoy, Here are KT-1133 and K69A from my KPT 535/4. Should be the same as yours.
  3. The Cornwall IV horn flares are so good looking that it should have a see-through/sheer grill cloth option.
  4. It is a good idea to micro-filter all your household water (I use multi-stage filtration systems at my place), but the Reverse Osmosis is mainly for drinking and cooking water.
  5. Someone already did that here on the forum, and also used a lot of solder, but the rest of us just use the wire length that fits. 😄
  6. The pump is not really needed for a few gallons a day of household use.
  7. That would be a concern with a whole house system, but most homes use a small Reverse Osmosis water filter system that just sends water to a dispenser tap at the kitchen sink, and a line to the ice maker, so the amount of water used to flush the membrane is low.
  8. How does it sound now? What have you done for room treatments?
  9. I probably wouldn't, but people like to have different things to choose from, and many folks think the Macs are attractive looking.
  10. Some folks say that veneering is easy, but the process of gluing, clamping, trimming, and then sanding, staining and finishing (if required) the surface might be considered "work" by some people, including myself. It helps to be patient at each stage. The doors in the pictures posted above were factory finished, but in this post I have applied some Zebra and stained it to achieve the desired look for the project.
  11. The tweeter driver will unscrew from the horn. There should not be any glue on the threads. It is normally tight. You will need to gain access to the back of the tweeter and while the tweeter horn is attached to the cabinet, grip the driver and turn it counter-clockwise.
  12. Yes, an outlet circuit tester is an easy and proper way to check the house wiring. Did the process of elimination point to the house wiring?
  13. I meant the additional weight on the kitchen floor from a person walking up to and standing in front of the fridge when the door is opened, bringing the total up to 500+lbs. I have not heard of a refrigerator collapsing a floor during normal usage, so I don't think some heavy speakers w/doors should require additional floor support under normal circumstances. You probably know more about construction than I do, but I believe that floor load ratings are calculated on the span from bearing support to bearing support and are based on the idea that there will be localized concentrated loads with open unweighted spaces around the room, resulting in an average PSF. So I think it would be safe to place big Klipsch speakers and door slab corners on a wood frame floor approved by the building code. Now that I think about it, I've seen grand pianos, or pool tables, or large granite topped islands sitting on normal wood frame floors. As mentioned earlier, my speakers are on concrete, but it is good to examine and discuss different applications.
  14. Your question is a good one, because these door slabs are heavy and safe handling and installation is always very important. So, if a pair of these 6 sq. ft. footprint (K-horn 5 sq. ft., doors 2"x36"x2 = 1 sq. ft.) each were placed on a wooden joist supported floor rated at 40 pounds per square foot/distributed load, with empty space in front of the loudspeakers, what advice would you give to the resident? A well stocked side by side refrigerator might also weigh 400 pounds and will have additional weight on the floor when its doors are opened.
  15. It was just some forum humor. I thought it was funny because sometimes I think of a good reply to a post I read a while back, but can't remember the title of the thread.
  16. Experiencing live music events and the surrounding atmosphere is so much fun. Good pictures.
  17. I have one SMS-1 for each subwoofer, because DSP is very effective for high performance audio.
  18. My original K-34 woofer lip pictured here looks about the same as the seller's. There could be slight differences in the recess depth during production runs.
