  1. That's a Type A. No missing parts except for 1 screw and possibly a placard.
  2. Pretty rough. Also, top board looks thick but it could be the angle. For posterity:
  3. This project is back in business thanks to @MookieStl. He made 16 beautiful custom corners for me and I'll be putting them on to one of the HF sections this weekend. Can't wait to post photos.
  4. Ok, then use a laser pointer that comes on when the door is open. Pick a spot on the car and maneuver until laser hits the spot. No contact, nothing in the way. Or just put some nails on the floor. Preventable expenses make good teachers.
  5. Maybe you could put elastic cord only from the stop to the door, and regular string from the stop to the ball. When the door goes up it relaxes until it starts letting the ball down. When the door goes down it pulls the ball up to the stop and then the elastic portion stretches. Stays taut at all times.
  6. My room right now is 9’ x 11’. They sound great. Not perfect, but good enough that they give me listening joy.
  7. This should work with either color scheme (and this exchange is so cool, thank you @WMcD for posting it!): From me to NP with re: Sensitive Speakers and Sweet Spots. (August 2018) Dear Pappa, Thank you for all the DIY articles and opportunities to learn. I have a question about sensitive speakers and sweet spots, if you have the time. I have Klipsch LaScalas. You might know their input impedance goes down to 4 ohms in the bass region. The midrange is about 10 ohms at the driver but the crossover uses an autotransformer and so the impedance roughly doubles. Midrange impedance goes even higher on other models (to reduce sensitivity). And, importantly, for the LaScala, Belle, and K-Horns, sensitivity is 104 dB/watt/meter. To steal a line from Olsher, “The first milliwatt is the most important.” Well, maybe the first 10 milliwatts. And I think a microwatt is audible in theory. So. I’m serious about building an F6 and have enjoyed reading your thoughts on the benefits of second harmonic distortion and also your thoughts on “sweet spots.” Question: Are the characteristics of the F6 amp and these speakers such that we’re away from a harmonic sweet spot. If so, do you have any suggestions? Maybe bi-amping with single ended for the mid? Resistors? I'd like to share whatever you have to say with the Klipsch Community where you have fans. Okay? Thank you again. WMcD - - - - - - From NP: F6 works great with La Scala’s, in fact the biggest FW dealer uses those loudspeakers. If you follow the threads on the F6 on DIYaudio you will see discussion on the adjustment of the potentiometers in the circuit so as to be able to adjust the harmonic distribution arbitrarily - the source of much entertainment. Of course I’m happy to share anything with Klipsch fans.... End of message from NP.
  8. Yeah, me too, but hopefully someone might scan it for the museum so we can all read it.
  9. craigslist listing has been deleted.
  10. Did you know that you can dredge your rain gutters with a magnet and pick up hundreds of meteorites? Pro tip: Put the magnet in a plastic bag first, then turn it inside out to keep the meteorites in the bag as you pull the magnet away.
  11. This, and besides, it was so fast (54,000 MPH is what I read) that it couldn't have been mistaken for an ICBM, at least I don't think so. ICBMs reach a ballpark speed of 16,000 MPH in space, IIRC, and are slowed to around 10,000 MPH way down in the atmosphere. Plus, they're estimating 2.x kilotons equivalent. The one over Russia was estimated at 400+ kilotons, so this was just a normal meteor burning up like normal. Just happened to be 50 km over a base.
  12. https://www.ebay.com/itm/123285471395?ul_noapp=true "Steampunk part". Hmmm.
  13. Wha? I have a spare legit laser badge I'm accepting PM offers for.
  14. What? I’m pretty sure mine do, along with the walls and floors.
  15. From the site: Locations: 2708 L and A Rd Metairie, LA 70001. For the onsite sale. Auction Locations vary, please auction listing for dates. Date and Times: Sunday 08/12/2018 Noon – 3 PM
  16. They have their own trailer hitches on them already. Just add wheels. [emoji3]
  17. Thanks for posting this. This is pretty normal for STL Craigslist, though.
  18. WOW! That would be fantastic!
  19. I'm no acoustical engineer, but can someone explain to me how anchoring the side wall midway doesn't just push the 150Hz resonance up to 300Hz?
  20. This is what I got today from East Gum Log Road. Not too exciting. With bananas for scale. 😀
  21. Great idea and I can’t wait to see the build.
