Rippyman
I have to say Watchmen has some of the best scenes for really making your HT setup shine. Share your favorite.
t-man
Easy - the 2 Ts: Tron and Transformers 3 Probably one of the funnest still remains a solid choice: Toy Story 2 openning scene - wow!
themrclean
+1 on the two Ts. My all time favorite is the scene in Swordfish where the explosion goes off with all the ball bearings flying around when the camera pans around 360 degrees in slow motion. It is only like 30 seconds or so but man is it impressive.
larbo13
+2 for the two T's , after watching transformers 3 my wife turned to me and said that was the best sounding movie ever.
Shodrewken
Cloverfield had some pretty good sound effects in it if memory serves. Any of the Transformers IMO, U-571.
willland
It is still hard to beat the Omaha Beach scene in Saving Private Ryan. The whole movie is a classic even on story line alone but the beach scene has got to be the most realistic "feels like you are right in the middle of the action" segment of any movie I have ever seen. Honorable mention: Flight of the Phoenix Black Hawk Down Underworld Trilogy Bill
TasDom
Battle Los Angeles has some great effects.[~]
Rippyman
The Day The Earth Stood Still has some amazing scenes as well.
Vital
I have used Master and Commander the most when showing off my system. The very beginning battle scene is just sick. The wood splintering and cannons thumping, it's awesome.
kapsnb01
Two that haven't been mentioned so far... The Dark Knight and the new Star Trek both have some great spots to show off a system.

Moderators dtel Posted March 14, 2012 Moderators Share Posted March 14, 2012 Almost anything that does not have women crying, talking about relationships or just with other women for more than 15 seconds, unless some clothes are missing and there is an explosion or gunfire shortly after, almost forgot little or no female type drama, or talking about dating, or............well you get the idea. W27
Surprised no one mentioned War Of The Worlds. I agree with the other listings above as well. Inception had some great effects too

Utard
The two T's for sure. There is a scene in The Book of Eli that has one of the best gun shooting scenes I have heard. Even with my wimpy surround it sounds good. With some solid surround I would bet it is even better. Its one of those ones that makes you look over your shoulder. I love those.
