Maybe he'll be mixologist this year at the gathering.  That would save me from having frost bitten hands again.  Better yet, Oldtimer and Tarheel.  Tarheel can make one martini for everyone and relax for the evening.  I doubt anyone would come back for seconds.  If he wanted to help he could always give Oldtimer a hand.

I’m sorry Travis -- please excuse my feeble attempt at humor.  I actually like eggnog.  I’d go with Bourbon as I find Rum to be the most evil liquid in existence.

Alton Brown's recipe uses Bourbon. I'd substitute Habana Club Rum or Barcardi if you can't get Habana Club.
