None of them could get nominated today. TR couldn't get anywhere as a Republican today, or even in 1912 when he formed the progressive party. FDR would be called a "socialist/communist" today and there wouldn't be room for him in the Democratic party. Eisenhower could probably win as a Democrat today if he came off winning a major war victory, but there would be no room for him in the Republican Party. Reagan was way too moderate and willing to compromise for today's Republican "base" to get through the primary process. He supported Brady. Regan gave amnesty to 3 million immigrants. Voting for Immigration reform hurt Little Marco with the base, it would kill Reagan today. Wilson, I would have to think about that some more. Where he was on trade could possibly make him a front runner today. Appatently, taxes, trade and immigration are the big issues with voters this cycle. Those great people came at a time when their values were needed for the issues of the time.
