Cal Blacksmith Posted August 10, 2007 Share Posted August 10, 2007 I am going into surgery this coming Aug 20 (a week from Monday) at 7:30 Am west coast time. They are going to take out my left kidney and a 4 tumor that has rooted there. They will also be cleaning out everything around the kidney just to be sure they have everything there is to get. I will be in the hospital for 3 to 5 days to get the pain under control, as the doc told me this is one of the most painful cuts they can make. It goes through 3 layers of muscle and there in lies the pain. If you are local and can spare the time, I will be in Long Beach Memorial hospital in Long Beach, drop on by I would be glad to see you. Those who are inclined to pray are here by asked to do so. Good thoughts from those who are not so inclined are also more than welcome. I am looking forward to Aug 21 because then this will be over and the healing will have begun! At least I get to have my 51st birthday on the 16th!!! As far as the weight loss surgery I had, it is working very well! I have lost over 150# so far and though the daily loss has slowed down, it is still inching down. Life is so much better now than it has been for decades, I cant imagine life now at 366# like I used to weigh! For anyone who is thinking about this surgery, DO IT! You wont be sorry. For me, the Weight Loss Surgery has saved my life TWICE! Once from high blood pressure, high cholesterol, aching joints, inability to walk distances without huffing and puffing, difficulty in doing routine tasks such as tying my shoes, taking a shower and dozens of things that people take for granted! The second time it saved my life is by the accidental finding of the tumor in time for it to be removed with a very high percentage (about 98%) of a complete cure!
