This stream auto-updates

  1. Past hour
  2. Don't ya just hate it when that happens? Sometime puttering around works in your favor and yesterday your number was up. Had to sound great. Snake guy related to dog chick? lol Had to.
  3. I didn't compare it to other amps. I have rotated it into the mix a few times and love how it looks and sounds. I have WAY too much audio gear, too many motorcycles, and other toys, so I need to let someone else enjoy some of it.
  4. Curious if you've compared this to McIntosh MC2100 or MC250? I know McIntosh uses output auto formers, but I am always interested in other class A/AB products.
  5. AAAHHH one of these lazy sunday afternoons here . As the weather was cloudy and quiet cold for may I spun some music I started with Al Di Meola´s " Cielo e Terra " ( Sky and Earth ) than the first Live Recording from WAR .. followed by the debut from Mother´s Finest which is breath taking and finally Roy Buchanan´s " Loading Zone " Well..it´s 10.08 pm here ..time to say goodbye !
  6. TTT This one is headed to the FB marketplace.
  7. Today
  8. It rained yesterday afternoon so instead of mowing the yard I puttered around the house before going over to my buddies(snake guy) place to hang out and play some music. After a while he twisted my arm and forced me to play his beat up old Gibson that was made in 1959. It’s the Les Paul in the middle.
  9. My son-in-law is running Heresy iis with an SB2000, and it sounds great. In a larger space than yours, but still a good match. I’m a big believer in DIY subs, if you are up to a bit of effort the results are quite rewarding. I’ve built a couple of Bill Fitzmaurice’s designs, and they are great with Klipsch speakers. https://billfitzmaurice.info
  10. EVERSOLO , Yes quite impressive units for the price $$$$, The A8 has me very interested, however, I’m not trying to give advice to anyone, but I think I would sit this one out for the time being , I seen items such as these come and go,and there sound is fantastic with excellent reviews, only part that really worries me if something breaks down beyond my repair and limited knowledge I think you might be kinda S ——ed, in the foreseeable future, for now I’ll keep using my , wadia transport VRDS and various Dac’s no hurry I can do most of that with my Mac & usb Dac’s I still don’t rip or stream, and what I looked at is I sure don’t need another preamp at this point in time, but I have to admit it does have me thinking whatever you decide. Good luck.
  11. Yeah, probably won’t start cabinets until mid-June. So much April-mid-June travel, I didn’t want to start the project and leave it. So far my costs have been: * $300 for the La Scalas * $60 gas to get from Houston to Houma, LA * $200 speeding ticket (does that count?) * $145 tweeters * $150 K-55m Only drawback so far has been that these things are so amazing that my vinyl sounds like crap. I clearly need an upgraded cart, this Ortofon Red isnt going to cut it. CDs sound amazing though!
  12. As others have said, the HK730 Twin works great with Klipsch Heritage. If you want more power, you might try to score either a Luxman R117 or the R115. Old skule Marantz or Sansui do great with Klipsch too. How much are you looking to spend? What do you plan to listen to?
  13. I think ScottE is confused. The receiver didn't blow out the subwoofer as it's merely sending a line level signal to the subwoofer amp; the sub's amp failed or the driver died. He needs a 12" subwoofer with a more powerful amp, or a second subwoofer. The 12" Klipsch Reference Premier subwoofer should suffice as it has a higher rated output of 121dB and an amp rated at 400W continuous/800W peak. I also recommend SVS and HSU Research. Replacing the driver or the sub amp will revive it and save the landfill, but if you're going this route, just add another subwoofer in parallel as it's clear you want more SPL than your current subwoofer can deliver. If you're lucky, once you determine whether the driver or amp is bad, Klipsch may have replacements, or check eBay. Don't replace the receiver as it's not dead, nor is it the issue.
  14. Thanks, nickyboy6100, I will keep you posted, for sure. I appreciate it!
  15. I have a set of original OEM metal trim for these speakers if you are interested.
  16. Thanks James, really nice sounds like. Will remember.
  17. It's similar to DuraTex. I have read other's squabbles and at the end of the day, it is the same old duck season/rabbit season argument. I have seen both and I like them both, but I have not seen them side by side to see if I like one better than the other.... other than price. DuraTex - $94 ExoHyde - $75
  18. Agree, alot of sweat investment. What is this Exohyde that you mentioned? Thanks!
  19. Is it true these can only be used with the CT120 or CT125 Tweeters?
  20. Oh, I thought it might be the cost of the coating or something. It looks like a lot of work to refinish them ready to paint, whereas Duratex will hide a lot of the small stuff. Also, if they had an industrial finish, rather than paint, they might not be scratched so badly.
  21. Yamaha 1010 or 2010 integrated or receivers are vintage (late 1970s), and sound great with Klipsch speakers. The one, I had, had a switch on the front to switch to class A too. Class A is nice for low level listening at its best and great for Klipsch speakers!
  22. Hello, Do you still have your VPI TNT for sale? Thank you
  23. The 1.5t MKII OPT II, has been re-installed is doing well. The “Thump”, has been eliminated, best of all the ceiling fan can be turned on & off without terrorizing our dog, and everyone else in the house. So, a win there for sure. Full disclosure, it’s probably overkill for the family room system, which is mostly TV/Movies 30% usually 5.1.2; with the Carver powering the L&R RP-280Fs. So, it rarely gets the chance to “Rock”. First impressions upon re-install were, that it was a bit harsh on the high end, this has either settled out after several days, or I’ve just grown accustomed to it(maybe it’s just the RP-280Fs that are “harsh”). It now has that usual increase in richness and soundstage that I’ve come to expect with external amplification, even just two channels, frees up the Denon to power everything else better. The Center ch dialogue is clearer without the load of the L&R. For 2.1 music, usually streamed through AppleTV, it is effortlessly reaching insane volume levels, and sounding good. If I get ambitious I’d like to hear it how it sounds with the La Scalas. Moving heavy things around, and re-wiring, is not on my agenda today. if you have one these old Carver amps, check with Nelion Audio, and let Greg work his magic, It’s worth it. Money well spent in my opinion.
  24. I used studs on 8" centers, pink insulation, a layer of 3/4" plywood and then green glue and 5/8" drywall. The sound is pretty damn good with no noticeable vibrations or rattles at any volume. I did a fair amount of soundproofing tricks but the effort to totally isolate becomes a case in diminishing returns fast.

    The Other Discs

https://www.discogs.com/release/5659673-The-City-Of-Prague-Philharmonic-Alien-Invasion-Space-And-Beyond-II Got this a good few years back because parts of the OST for "Space - Above and Beyond" are on it. It's all recorded in surround stereo. Today I listened to this in surround the first time after all these years. I must say, not bad. There are a few pieces were I prefer the original recordings, but all in all not bad...
