Paul W. Klipsch was walking down the street one day and saw Dr. Amar Bose on the other side of the street. Paul stops, faces Amar, cups his hands around his mouth, and clearly yells, "Hello Amar!" Amar hears Paul's loud voice and stops. He immediately turns 180-degrees from Paul, puts his hands over his mouth, and mutters, "Hello Paul." Paul shrugs his shoulders and walks away.3 points

I just finished my summer project on my subwoofers. I added another Behringer I Nuke 6000 in the mix to power the subs. I now have a ground loop issue. I have isolated to the interaction of the 2 I Nuke 6000's and the Acurus amp. The I Nuke 3000's don't cause the problem when they are on and just driving two subs. The gain structure of the I Nuke 6000 amps is much higher. I am looking for a cheap remeady. Would something like this work? http://cdn.opentip.com/Electronics/Monoprice-Channel-Ground-Loop-Isolator-p-1935200.html?gclid=CMylgOS3lsACFQqGaQodZbMAQw2 points

It always does. As far as purging the fridge, I have a son in law for that he will eat anything and everything, expiration dates he may not even know they exist. One thing I can say for sure is cleaning out a fridge and freezer after a few day of no elec after a storm will make you think completely different about food.2 points

Morning gang: First cup-o-joe done, time for a couple more, making offers on the Bay for a new SS amp, seems when you slightly crank up the power in my "New" Active System, right channel crackles, looks like my Reno Pawn Shop deal aint so good, oh well iv had a pretty good run in life buying good stuff, cannot blame the Pawn Shop. I will solve this minor setback today. Other than that this system is flawless, really wanted to crank it up, but i can wait. And it's friday.2 points

I don't mean to be overly anal, but it's usually Parkinson-like symptoms. They only way they can determine Parkinson's for sure is post-mortem. I know a bit about suicide from school and I have some work experience with it. I have some theories about what actually happened, but they are irrelevant now. Based on the reports I have seen, it wouldn't surprise me if this "suicide" was an accident, that he didn't actually intend to take his own life. I don't have all the facts, and I am probably wrong. Only the victim knows for sure.2 points

I'm sure if the parents are loving to their kids like any parent should be, they will be fine. I worry more about kids' parents that shouldn't be parents in the first place. I worry more about kids being exposed to Kim Kardashian syndrome.2 points

Is it too late to write in for Bill The Cat for Forum Moderator. He's pretty mellow. Toss him a tee shirt or some black heroin to groove to and he's pretty mellow. Sidekick Opus the penguin with ginormous nose can help keep him on track. No herring bribes required. He's happy to keep Bill happy and occupied. Kind of depressed as the anticipated reunion of Billy and The Boinger's hasn't yet happened. And yes. Bill has no account but he's kind of shy but would relish something meaningful to do and signup in a kitty heartbeat if given the opportunity.1 point

I have tried FH, FW, SB. The SB has the most impact IMHO. The FH make a glorified 5.1 system which I am currently using. The FW spread the sound stage out and can have an impact on films with a lot of panning. Remeber, no movies have discrete content for these channels and it is a matrix effect derived from other channels. Also, most avr's will make you choose one option for a movie. The sound is slightly different in the room with these three options. Which did I like the best, SB. FH and FW channels need space to work properly. Six ft. from the mains is good for FW and 3 plus ft. above for FH. I get the same amount of enjoyment out of all three options since 90+ percent of the movie is in front of you where the mains and center channel are the stars. Also, if the room is not large enough, the benefits of these extra surround speakers is somewhat lost. Spatial cues need space to help localize the changes in the soundfield. In a small space, all these extra speakers cause sound congestion.1 point

Moray; That is certainly worth 4 cents, but more than I want to take on at this point. What are your thoughts on m original idea? Do you think it will help open the midrange? Thanks...... Best regards, John Yes it would help with the mid. Why don't you figure out what kind of budget you may have to play with then you can actually see what options you might be available to you. You could find a nice horn with a two inch throat onto which you could install an adapter so that you could then use your existing driver and crossover for now. This would then allow you to later switch to a large format driver without having to make any changes to the cabinet. Or you could find a nice round tractrix horn to mount on top of the cabinet and not have to make any changes to the baffle short of a blank for the old mid horn. I have a set of the Forte ll mid horns if that is what you really want to go with let me know if you are interested in them. take a look at some of the links below. Best regards Moray James. http://gpoint-audio.com/diy/horns-pl-diy-2/tractrix-horns/ http://darklanternforowen.wordpress.com/2014/04/13/tractrix-midrange-horn/ http://inlowsound.com/ PS: you could build new cabinets, get four new 4 ohm woofers and build a larger cabinet for your Forte ll parts use the same crossover you could move much more air than a single fifteen, save the Forte ll cabinets if you ever wanted to sell them with the stock parts. lots of possible options.1 point

Ben try it any temp you want but stop it when the INTERNAL temp is at 140 degrees MAX, take off and leave sit for a few minutes, it will have the texture of steak and very juicy. Pork loins are totally different at that temp, very slightly pink and MUCH better. I have always overcooked Pork which was completely wrong, just try it once, you won't believe the difference.1 point

I am a closet Bose owner, literally, I have a pai rof 2.2's that I bought new in 1989 sitting in a closet collecting dust. About 5 or 6 years a go I had a party and a friend said he needed to go buy some surround speakers. I gave him a pair of stands and the choice between a pair of JBL 1100's (small bookshelf) and the Bose 2.2's, whatever he wanted, all for free. He wanted the Bose "because they are better." I said, I am going to do you a favor and made him take the JBLs. So I still have the Bose in storage.1 point

Samantha, Welcome to the Forum! You would be looking at about a $275.00 upgrade. When I upgraded my forte II, 3 years ago I payed $175.00 to Klipsch for new drivers and diaphragms. Which was only $10.00 more than just the diaphragms without drivers. A no brainer decision in my mind. I think Bob Crites charged $75.00 or $100.00 for a pair of outboard squawker band pass at the time. INMO a much more noticeable improvement than when I repaced my tweeter diaphragms with titanium. Best regards, John1 point

Hi all: I'm new to this forum and kinda new to the whole audio thing (Sony boomboxes until a recent divorce, whole different story though). My question is: if I were to buy some titanium diaphragms for the Forte 2s, am I likely to hear a significant difference when I'm using a low power Marantz from the early to mid 70s? My ex collects old stereo stuff and he just kinda gave this to me, probably to shut me up. It sounds pretty good now, but I wonder if I can make it better without spending a lot of time/money on it. I do know how to read schematics and solder etc so that will not hold me back much. Anyway, thanks for any advice. S1 point

Very good point Mr. Klipsch. I would consider soon. Here in the midwest i dont ever use google unless someone sends me to a link on goog/l. As do near everybody i know. Sure the simple people looking for pictures will find bing more colorful. Myself I like to read and learn and pics help a bit. Bing by far in the past 2 years has provided more than google ever did in the years before that for me. Bing in 1 page always does more for me and proved itself very fast. This is of course what i have found and talking to many others they have agreed.1 point

I see your name calling me. Man sure does look like your going in the right direction! A good 12 is tough to compare to a descent 15 let alone a great 18"setup. Very money friendly compared to any powered sub in a box! Whats better than 2 than 3 than 4. Best of luck Utard!1 point

Puts a smile on my face I remember only a couple years ago never owning anything more than a kg.5 and grew up with them when new and hundreds of other pieces of gear that truly failed. Im talking 10's of thousands of dollars on audio gear I tried and took back and exchanged so so so many times nib crap trying to settle with 100's of other speakers and gear always falling back on my kg.5's with jbl powered 10. 2 years later after reading the forum and joining from klipsch pro gear to heritage and reference iv had my adventure and very very content. So content I sometimes go a week without listening. I sleep well knowing its all a button push away. Between my new wife and klipsch im torn between which makes me most content lol1 point
