  1. Good job, that's nice of you, give him a little time THEN one day in the future invite him over and pop his bubble, nicely.

  2. Ok, so here is the Evolution of my son's audio setup that started when he was 11yrs old. B&W DM602 - $200 Parasound P/LD-1100 Pre Pro - FREE Integra DPS-5 DVD Player - FREE Rotel RB-960BX (60x2) Amp - FREE 19" TV - $200 - (Son bought with his own money at 11yrs old) PS2 (Son bought with his own money from GameStop at 11yrs old) B&W sounded great but definitely not enough bass for a teenager. Sold the B&W and upgraded to Klipsch CF-2 Oak. Purchased them from a forum member for $225 Bought a pair of almost mint pair of RF-7 for $400 which REALLY improved his setup, especially in the bass and a free entertainment center. Sold the Integra DVD player and replaced it with a Marantz DVD Player Bought an RC-7 for $200 and added to his setup. He didn't "need" an RC-7 but at that price, it was a no brainer to buy. We bought him a budget 32" TV and budget bluray player on Black Friday for super cheap and gave it to him for Christmas. Replaced the Parasound Pre Pro with a Yamaha RX-V1700 since the Parasound was only 2ch. Scored this Complete RF-7ii System (Best Deal of My Life) and upgraded his center to the RC-64ii and the RC-7 is now being used in Wakejunkie's setup. And as you can tell, even at 15yrs old, my son still loves superheroes and comics. I posted the prices of the deals I got just in case you think my son is a spoiled kid. LOL The way you see his room is EXACTLY the way it always stays. I have never once asked him to clean his room because he ALWAYS keeps it clean. That's why I can trust him with RC-7's and the RC-64ii. Needless to say, my son's system at 11 blew away my setup until I was in my 30's.

  3. Hi all, this is my first Topic. I'm a very happy owner of a couple of Cornwall III. Now I'm looking for a good speaker cable that will be able to drive them in the best way. I know that Cornwall III might be driven by very cheap cables and I'm of quite opened mind to accept a simple and cheap electrician cable. So, what speaker cable would you suggest me for this fantastic loudspeaker? Thanks in advance Bye Fabio

  4. Okay......... this is interesting. I know marred/dirty CD's certainly benefit from cleaning and waxing. Yet for those like myself who do keep CD's properly stored this is not much of a problem. As for this technique......... Do CDs which are properly stored degrade in a manner that would benefit from this treatment? If so, in what way do they degrade and why? Is it the CD base material, its type of manufacture or how it is being kept? Could it be the actual use of the CD that aggravates its playback quality? After every 6 plays, the CD requires this type of refurbishing? This is what's bugging me about the product info here. The understanding of the primary problem is fuzzy. Some CDs need it - others don't. Do some CD's require treatment frequently and others not at all - ever. I am a pragmatic sort and I need this to make sense. This causative lack here does make it smack of voodoo alchemy. Is this some manufacturing treatment all CDs should be getting and some don't so a home remedy is a one time cure? The 'need to' dots require some clearer definitions so I can link this together. I am open for change but it does need real foundation.

  8. Tarheel, everytime you go out on one of these dates take a quick phone picture and we'll help you decide which one is right for you. It's the least we all can do to help out being forum brothers and all.

  12. I find it hard to understand why anyone could think otherwise. If it were not so, why wouldn't you just buy any off the shelf cdp and be happy? Everything has it's own sound, amps, preamps, cables (shudder the thought), etc. It's the raison d'etre that this hobby exists. Otherwise we would all be shopping for rack systems at Best Buy...... Off my soapbox now....... Shakey Funny how the "sound" seems 100% tied to visual id of the item, and 0% related to audio only comparisons. Mastering, rooms, and speakers have huge differences, everything else, not so much.

  14. are you a time traveller? any chance you could have crossed the einstein/rosen/podolsky bridge into an alternate dimension? look around and see if your doppleganger is in the area--he’ll get you banned from this site. I don't know about time traveler; however, I sure would like a bottle of whatever it is he is drinking for the holiday weekend. After all, he is posting in the garage sale forum.

  15. Yes, this was the entire system that I purchased from her. The photo was taken in my home theater. I liked the photo so much, I made a 1920x1080 Desktop Wallpaper for my computer and added the Klipsch logo.

  18. i thought it would be fun to start a thread so we could talk about how much our kids are following in our footsteps down this very fun road of audio enjoyment! So let's post some pics of our kids and our speakers! my son is 3.5 years old and for the last year or so he has been able to turn on the tv, open cabinets, knows exactly which input button the blu ray player is on on the avr, turns on the inuke for the subs, and blu ray player on as well as open it. only thing he isn't allowed to do is touch the disc themselves. he loves listening to music no matter what its on right now, although as he gets older i'm sure he will respect a nicer sounding system. He is very good at not messing with my speakers, and when we have friends over with kids much older than him (6-10yr olds) he tells them to stay away from daddy's speakers.

  19. Is this the 1st year Bose products have been utilized for coaching headphones, etc??? I've noticed Bose headphones being used by the coaching staff in 2 preseason games and I do not recall this previously. Great marketing - excellent product placement. I wonder if Bose pays for this advertising???

  25. Looking at your avatar, if that were a pine tree, the puppy would be stuck there. Funny you said that. Just opened a card and it showed a couple dogs looking at another dog stuck to a fire hydrant while hosing on it, and said 'Wow, and I thought getting your tongue stuck to metal was bad'.

  33. Our Grandson, standing by the Klipsch museum in Hope, also sitting on the door to the Anechoic chamber. This was in 2010, he is 14 now. He has been to three pilgrimages and two klipsch tours of the plant, one of our Granddaughters has been to one Pilgrimage also. They all listen to music, whether they want to or not but they love it. My daughter came inside and got me the other day and said come see quick, Rylee who is 8 was sitting outside singing "get up stand up, stand up for your rights" Her bigger sister Allie 13 loves Bob Marley and reggae music, don't know where they got that from ? All of our kids and now there kids have grown up with music since they were born, I don't care if they get into audio as long as they get into music.

  39. Ya know, at the end of the day, it's what you enjoy. God knows there's tons of awful music out there. But if it gets you goin, then let it. Me? Yes from time-to-time, I've been know to hum a tune or two from the most bubblelicous group in creation: The Beatles I feel nauseous afterwards, but in the moment, it's fun!

  40. One quick comment of FH speakers, if they are to small and don't match the mains, you will not get anything out of them. I tried a pair of small cube FH speaker with my VF 36's and it did not work.

  45. Got the rear seals and axle in. Brakes and drum, Handlebars and exhaust done. Not much change, but should have a full roller after this weekend when more parts arrive. I cant believe how good of a job the powder man did on the muffler. It was heavily rust pitted, but he cleaned it up nicely and put a high temp powder coating on it.
